《Protected by BTS》Chapter 47: Nightmare

His ears rang and he could barely make out any sounds. Jungkook could feel someone holding him, basically dragging him but his eyes wouldn't adjust from the red lense of vision.
He heard distant calls of his name but they were too far from his reach. By the time images slowly started to come together and sounds started to crisp, you guys were all already home.
Hoseok and Seokjin were holding the maknae up and laid him down in his room. The rest of the members followed suit, wanting to make sure Jungkook was okay. After awhile, it seemed as if he had drifted to sleep, only to suddenly jolt up and scan his surroundings.
Jungkook was dazed but could clearly make out that he was in his room and all of the members were at his side. Seokjin was the first to speak, "It happened again, didn't it?" The members all knew what was happening and you had an idea also.
Jungkook slowly nodded, "Jongsuk was just getting on my nerves, talking about the members and making threats. I don't know... I just lost it and saw red." Jungkook paused to rub his temples, "I didn't kill him did I?" He asked seriously.
Namjoon shook his head, "No, you didn't kill him. But you all of a sudden looked as if you went into a frenzy. He was already unconscious but we pulled you off of him since the match was already considered over."
You remember how scary Jungkook was. It was as if he was an entirely different person. You remember Jungkook telling you something about when this happens but it was nothing like you expected. It was almost like he was superhuman. Jongsuk didn't stand a chance when Jungkook lashed out on him. It happened so quick but Jungkook wouldn't stop hitting Jongsuk even when he was bleeding and unconscious on the floor.
"It was one hell of a fight. It ended so quickly after that." Taehyung tried to lighten the mood to let Jungkook know he won greatly.

"Hanbin was seriously pissed though." Yoongi added. Jungkook laid back down comfortably, "I bet he was," and proceeded to yawn.
"You must be exhausted," You pointed out and could see how drained Jungkook was, physically and most definitely mentally. His arms hung and his posture was slouched.
"Let's let him rest. We should all sleep this off." Jimin said, "I, for one, can still say I'm a little bit tipsy." You chuckled, "Oh, oppa, I'm definitely still buzzed. I might pass out as soon as I lay down." You added and the members agreed.
"What did I say? Alcoholics." Seokjin shook his head. Jungkook laughed, "I'll get some sleep. Get out of my room, you drunks."
~~~
After you guys left Jungkook's room, Seokjin, Yoongi, Taehyung, and Hoseok went to bed. Jimin, Namjoon, and you had the fabulous idea of watching a movie. It was Jimin's idea, despite him saying he wanted to sleep earlier.
You three sat on the couch in the living room and you were in the middle of them. Not even halfway through the movie, you could feel your eyes dropping but you felt almost sober. Looking over at the boys, they were completely knocked out, lying horizontally away from you.
Jimin's mouth was even open and Namjoon was snoring. You thought they were cute and you got up to place blankets on them. After that, you took cute pictures of their sleeping faces, knowing it'll be funny later.
I guess I should go to sleep too.
You went to your room to change and get ready for bed when you noticed you were still wearing Jungkook's earrings. You planned to quietly place them back in Jungkook's room, knowing he was a heavy sleeper so he wouldn't mind.
Upon entering his room, you didn't need your phone's flashlight since his open window showed the night's light from the moon and the city. It was dim but you were able to blindly maneuver to where he keeps his jewelry.
You started to place the earrings back in the box when you heard Jungkook shuffle in bed lightly. He mumbled incoherent words and you smiled, wondering what he was dreaming about. You walked closer to him and tried to make out his face in the dark room.
His face turned ever so slightly to the lights outside and you became concerned. Jungkook was sweating and his breathing was rapid. His mumbling continued and you placed a hand on his forehead. Jungkook was warm and twitching in bed.
"No...no," he muttered as his head turned once again. Was Jungkook having a nightmare?
"Please..." He shifted suddenly and curled into a ball on your side. You pat him lightly, "Jungkook? Jungkook-ah? It's a dream, just a nightmare," You caressed his side and tried to wake him up. You've heard that you shouldn't wake people up from nightmares but you couldn't stand to see him like this.
"Stop!" Jungkook jolted and halfway sat up. His breathing was heavy still and he blinked a few times before realizing you were there. "Are you okay? Was it a nightmare?" You rubbed his back and Jungkook relaxed with your soothing voice.
Jungkook gulped and sighed, "More of like a bad memory, but yeah" He gulped, "I'm okay."
"Are you sure? After today, I'm sure there's been a lot on your mind," you said in reference to his episode earlier today. Jungkook avoided your gaze. "Just bad memories of my family. And that fight probably triggered it." He said longingly. "You've got me worried Jeon Jungkook."
He rubbed your hand and finally looked at you, "Gwenchana. I usually have nightmares when I get like that. When I get into that kind of frenzy, I usually have a rough night after it. But I'm fine now, I promise. I already feel better with you here." He admitted and you felt warm in your cheeks.
"You must have been scared to see me like that. I'm sorry." Jungkook looked down to rub your fist, feeling how tender it was from when you punched Jongsuk.
"It definitely surprised me. But I know that's not the real you, so don't apologize." You smiled and placed your fingers in your chin, trying to make him look at you.
He looked like a sad puppy, but upon meeting your gaze, his expression suddenly changed. Jungkook's breath hitched once again, glancing at your lips. Jungkook was lost in your eyes. He grabbed your hands on his chin and held them in his own. "Man, you have an adorable smile." He uttered.
You were shaking and felt hot all over. These words made you feel a type of way you've never felt before and you weren't quite sure how to react. "Uh... I..." You started to stutter.
"Why do you do this to me?" He cut you off. You shook your head, "And what am I doing to you?"
He grabbed the small of your neck, pulling you closer to him. "You make me a complete wreck and you aren't even trying." Jungkook sputtered before pulling you again. This time, he slowly connected his lips with yours.
Your lips were softer than Jungkook imagined and he wanted to savor every second. After saving you from the cold waters, he had imagined kissing you for real. And it was better than he could ever imagine.
Jungkook took it slow, slowly caressing your cheek and the skin before your ear. It was a passionate first kiss and Jungkook's hands on your soft skin only made him melt into you.
Your heartbeat spiked and you weren't sure if this was actually happening.
Fear spread throughout your body and you instantly pulled away, to the dismay of Jungkook. You were breathless from the kiss but you stood up and took a step back. As soon as you did that, Jungkook knew he made a mistake.
"MiSun. I-"Jungkook started but you didn't hear the rest as you bolted out of his room.
Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus
The Head That Wears The Crown
It's a tale as old as time. Boy goes to funeral. Boy gets sucked into a different world. Boy has to lead a settlement. Boy has to lead a settlement? Boy has to lead a settlement. This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I don't promise I'll read every comment or message, but I certainly welcome your feedback. Disclaimer part six: I lied, it wasn't the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story. That means that it's very annoying for you as a reader since chapters can end mid sentence. Hah! Sucker! Disclaimer part seven: Get ready for slow updates. Who knows when this will continue. Toss it on read later and come back in fifty years. Disclaimer part eight: Cover Photo by Arthur Ogleznev on Unsplash
Become Leviathan
A young man struggles to put his life back together after his long-term girlfriend is killed in a mass shooting, but as he discovers more about the life, family history, and mysterious ethos of the shooter, everything, including reality itself, is called into question. A non-linear, multi-perspective, kaleidoscopic novel about the inextricable links between individuals, society, religion, and nature. Content Warnings: mass shootings, gang violence, violence towards animals, drug abuse, abusive relationships (romantic, familial, and interpersonal), various severe mental illnesses, and general suffering. However, please note that these elements are NOT included simply to be edgy--each topic is intended to be handled with respect and contain a genuine discussion of ethics. If you feel I have not treated a given topic with respect, please let me know, as I feel doing so is vital to the heart of the work.
