《Protected by BTS》Chapter 49: Hanbin

"Wait, one the warehouses got attacked?!" You whisper shouted to Jin. He nodded his head, "They took out our men guarding the warehouse but a silent alarm alerted us. The boys went to go check it out, but we have to stay here."
"Stay here?! What if they're still there, the members might need help, oppa." You pleaded. Seokjin shook his head and smiled, pretending everything was okay. "We have to keep up an act. This is a Bangtan opening and it would be suspicious if we weren't here. We have to keep a reputation and if we look weak, we can lose a lot of holdings and alliances. That's why you and I have to make it seem like nothings wrong. You have to always assume everyone is the enemy, even in here, araseo? People here might find out we were robbed and use it to their advantage, we keep a low profile." He grit our whole pretending to smile happily.
You took a deep breath, pretending to laugh and smile, "So are you saying there could be other people who want to hurt you guys here?"
"It's a possibility. In this line of business, you don't have any true friends. But, just stay visible and you have that gun Hoseok gave you right?"
You nodded.
"Good. Now, I have to go talk to some other guests. Like I said, stay visible and use that gun if necessary." He bent down to kiss your forehead. "Don't look too upset. Some monsters can smell fear." He finally said before Seokjin walked off.
Stay visible? I guess the best place to go to is the bar!
You headed to the bar downstairs, taking a seat on one of the empty high chairs. You ordered a sangria from the bartender and he quickly served you.

You lightly sipped on your drink as you enjoyed your own company. After finishing the drink, a familiar face slid into the seat next to you.
"Can I buy you a drink?" The man asked and you rolled your eyes. I could stand out less talking to him.
"I don't see why not. But it seems like you're always buying me drinks." You crossed your arms and slid the empty glass to the bartender.
"Another drink for the lady and I'll have one of those too." He said as he turned to face you. "Seems that we always run into each other, MiSun-ssi."
You laughed dryly, "Well the last time we ran into each other was because your hyung wouldn't stop harassing me."
Hanbin cocked his head, "Ah, you'll have to forgive him for me. He's just a spoiled brat who's used to getting everything he wants. But he's family so I take care of my hyung."
"Speaking of Jongsuk, how is he? Jungkook-ssi really did a number on him." You hid a smirk and thanked the bartender when he served you guys once again. You and Hanbin cheered glasses, "He's recovering. His ego is pretty damaged though." Hanbin had made you laughed.
"I'm sure his big ego will recover, unfortunately." You retorted, taking sips of the new drink. "Anyways, what brings you to my oppa's club?"
"Ah, well can't a man enjoy a beautiful establishment? This new place is very chic, very new. It's the biggest thing in town right now, so I just had to come check it out. My men seem to be having fun" Hanbin looked around at a few of his men mingling around the club. "You know, I don't seem to see any of your members here, though. Where's Bangtan?" He asked suspiciously.

Seokjin's words echoed in your ears. We have to keep a reputation and if we look weak, we can lose a lot of holdings and alliances.
"You see," You were ready to pull something out of your ass, "They're men. The last I saw most of them, they had some girl under their arm. I'm sure they're around here somewhere, or in an alley." You almost gagged at the thought of all them doing some provocative activities.
"I see. Well it's unfortunate. It's not a great look on BTS when they don't even show up to their own debut of a new business. People could start talking, you know?" Hanbin looked away, taking another sip.
"Rest, assured. They made an appearance earlier so they're somewhere around." Shoot. Did he buy it? "There's a lot of people around. I'm sure you'll see them eventually."
Shaking his head, he confessed, "Nah, I don't really socialize unless it's for business."
"Oh, a businessman. Well, since you're socializing with me, is this some sort of business deal?" You mocked and his stone cold expression led you to believe it was.
"Pitch it to me, Hanbin-ssi." You turned your chair toward him and he scoffed. "Well, if you put it that way. I'm just interested in Bangtan that's all. They've been around since 2013 and they've been expanding their empire ever since. My name may not be as big as theirs, but I have quite the reputation as well. I want to get closer to the members and maybe form some sort of alliance. You're the newest member so it was easiest to start with you."
"You think you can win me over so I can set you up with a private meeting?" You scoffed, "If you want to talk to my oppas they're somewhere around here."
"I can see that you're still new to this, MiSun-ah, which makes me more curious about you." He leaned in and you were starting to get a weird feeling with him. You couldn't tell if he was lying or not and if he wasn't, you didn't know if his intentions were good. "I've got money and most of the politicians in my pocketbook. I could offer Bangtan a lot more connections and overseas clientele for their various exportations."
"We don't need you connections. Bangtan is fine on their own, thank you very much. If this is the only reason you came tonight, then my apologies but you won't be making any deals."
"Deals? I didn't say anything about deals, you phrased it that way. I do business. Darling, I just like having friends in high places. I already do but if Bangtan doesn't want to be in that circle, then so be it. We can remain acquaintances." He glanced behind you and could see Seokjin looking for you. Hanbin quickly pulled out his wallet and paid the bill for you.
"Maybe we'll run into each other again one day. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around." He stood up, "It's a small world you know." Hanbin bowed and promptly left.
You were once again alone at the bar and decided to check your phone, having not seen it all night. A bunch of unread messages from your guys' group chat popped up and before you could read it, Seokjin appeared by your side. "Did you see the texts?!"
You noticed his frazzled state. "No, I haven't opened them yet, why?"
"They're at Dr. Choi's right now. I need you to go help them."

Dark Winter
It is always darkest before the dawn. After the divorce, Katie Fox was forced to live with her mother in New York after the judge ruled that her father, a former Army Ranger, wasn’t stable enough. They called him ‘that crazy bunker guy’ or ‘that paranoid freak.’ Whatever they called him, Christopher Fox was a Prepper. He taught those willing to listen how to survive in a catastrophe and how to prepare for the end of the world. More than that though, he was her father and she would rather spend her life in his underground bunker than another minute in that New York highrise. So, she ran away. The date is November 28th, Black Friday and hell has been unleashed on the world. A freak storm mixes with a deadly virus that turns its victims into mindless hunters of flesh. Katie will have to use everything her father taught her to survive and reach the safety of his underground bunker. Note from the author: Thanks for stopping by! The plan is to upload a chapter every Saturday or Sunday (as my schedule allows). Hope you enjoy the story!
