Taylor Swift - This Love
"Gideon Torres, Sebastian David, you're under arrest for activities relating to organised crime. Murder, racketeering, drug trafficking, prostitution and arms dealing."
The officer, a dark skinned woman, hair braided pass her shoulders in yarns of pastel blues. She donned a black pant suit that hugged her slender and sturdy figure.
Her identification hanging around her neck. She stepped forward, hands on her slender hips and black almond eyes staring at Gideon. They held each other's gaze - both threatening raising the tension in the room.
"You're also wanted by the US Government for arming terrorist groups." She said. "You're lucky they didn't send in their cavalry."
Gideon's soldiers clutched their guns but where prevented from firing by his raise hands.
Rory trembled; her stomach churning as she watched the armed officers piled into the venue. They invaded the stage, pushing her aside which earned the a threatening growl from her husband.
4 man swamped him and pulling his arms behind his back. While 2 headed for Sebastian.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."
A small, petrified sound wheezed from her lips as those words entered her ear. It was really happening. But, why was she so scared? This was what he deserved for the months of pain he caused her.
Then, when Gideon calmly turned to face her and smiled reassuringly, her pulsed calmed - beating at a steady rate. She couldn't take her gaze away from him. He should've looked small and vulnerable among the armed office in black uniforms and their bullet proof vests with their guns strapped to their back.
Instead, he looked every bit as intimidating the first time she saw him. He towered over the others with his bulky size and with those rugged features, hard eyes and squared shoulders; he appeared as if he was running the operation.
But, the moment those eyes locked on her, they softened. Even now, he looked at her like she was his whole world. He didn't know what she had done. Would he look at her the same if he did?, she wondered.
"Everything will be alright." He promised. "It's just a misunderstanding."
Reluctantly, she nodded; her throat going dry. Only if he knew it wasn't. Rory bit back the tears and trotted after her husband while he was lead out of the hotel. Chest heaving and her heart dropping, she watched him slid into the backseat of the police car. The blue and red lights spinning and burning her eyes.
It was supposed to be a happy moment. Her captor, her abuser getting what he deserved. As of this moment she was free. Free to leave without consequences.

But instead, she stood shaking with fear and uncertainty; never able to tear her eyes off him. And, Gideon continued to focus on her through the windows of the car.
He tilted his head and flashed her his usual twisted grin. Along with the comfort that the grin gave her came the heartache too. The first tear fell from down her cheeks, followed by stream of waterfall and hiccuping sobs.
What had she done?
The cars pulled away from the curb followed by more escorts on motorcycles sounding their sirens.
And, Gideon disappeared from her reach.
With trembling limbs, Rory found herself taking small steps after the parade of cars while the hot tears fell uncontrollably.
God, she was free. This was what she wanted. So, why did a sense of lost and emptiness suddenly invaded her heart?
A cold hand curled around her wrist and she glanced down at the ring covered fingers. Gold bands embellished with diamonds and a black carbide - a cross symbol etched onto the middle - sat on the thumb.
"Don't look so sad." Luci smiled smugly.
Rory stared at her with wide eyes. She was dressed in a tight fighting red gown with her dark hair falling straight to her hips. Blood red lips and dark smoky eyes - she was dressed for a victory.
In her peripheral vision, Rory spotted Gabriela dashing towards them. Face flushed and veins pulsing out of her neck. Her face was twisted in a nasty scowled.
"What the hell are you doing here?" She demanded, halting dangerously close to her younger sister. "Especially, not after what you've done. It was you, wasn't it?"
"Yes it was. You're as intuitive as ever." Luci answered innocently. Then, she tossed a glance at Rory. "It was actually the two of us."
Gabriela glanced between them; a look of disbelief and betrayal that sank her heart and soul. She stepped back, putting them at a distance while her gaze dropped to the floor for a brief moment. Then, Gabriela slowly looked up revealing those cold eyes that resembled her brother's.
They slanted into a glare that made a shiver race up her spine.
"I expected it from you." She said at Luci. Her eyes turned to Rory. "Not you."
"I had my reasons." Rory stammered, shuffling uncomfortably.
"He's your husband."
A cold breeze nipped her size and she quivered; tightening her arms around herself. A moment of silence passed and those words echoed in her ear again and again. He's your husband. Husband, husband, husband.
"He raped me." She uttered. "He hit me, he took my choices and he killed my family." She held Gabriela's gaze. "He's not my husband. He never will be."

Rory stilled as her voice shook making her words unbelievable. Even she didn't believe her last sentence herself and that made her sick to her stomach.
Gabriela watched her with an unreadable expression before strutting away, leaving her with an ecstatic Luci. She waved after her sister with a bright smile; her laughter echoing in the air. At least someone was overjoyed about the situation.
Once Luci came down from her high, she faced Rory.
"Well done, you did it." She said. "You got him. You avenged Alvaro and everyone he had ever hurt."
It didn't feel like a victory to her, though. It felt like she had just lost everything.
"I have some paperwork for you." Luci informed her. "Meet me tomorrow?"
Rory nodded, her eyes still focused on Gabriela's retreating figure.
"Oh, and congratulations on your pregnancy." She smiled, placing her palm against the bump. "You'll be a great mother."
With a kiss to her cheek, Luci trotted away with a confident sway.

Stepping out of the OB-GYN's office, Rory climbed into the passenger seat of the SUV. Jairo shoved his phone into his pockets and started the engine.
48 hours had passed since Gideon's arrest and the only person who visited him since then was Gabriela. He was fine and was equipped with some of the best lawyers, according to her.
She wondered if Gabriela told him she was behind his arrest. Would he want to see her? Was he angry? Because, that was where she was heading. They had things to talk about. Things they needed to clear up.
About half a hour later, Jairo pulled into the parking lot of the station. A build brick building with iron brass railings and huge steps. The parking lot was pretty much emptied and from what she heard, the department had been cleared since it was deemed as a special case.
The officer from the party greeted at the steps. Another pant suit and a different colour yarn was braided into her hair. She was pretty with her symmetrical face features and elegant skin tone.
"Nice to meet you Mrs Torres." She said, reaching out her hand. "I'm Esmeralda Verga, I'm the lead on this case."
Rory hesitantly shook her hands and followed her into the building. She led Rory down a hallway where officers nodded respectfully to her as she passed. Clearly, this woman was a high ranking officer.
They entered a dimly lit room and through the glass on the wall was her husband. Still in his suit; the tie loosened and the top buttons undone. He looked disheveled and the exhaustion was cleared from the bags under this eyes.
Yet again, he never failed to look so handsomely gorgeous.
"He can't see you." Esmeralda said, tapping the glass with her knuckles. "Special glass."
Beside the glass was a door and Esmeralda twisted the knob, opening it.
"Go on." She ushered encouragingly.
Rory stepped inside, her focus trained on the blue carpeted floor. She couldn't bring herself to look at him because the moment she did, her resolve would snap from the force of the guilt that he been eating at her since his arrest.
No matter how hard she tried to bury it or constantly trying to tell herself that she had nothing to be guilty for, it won't go away. It was always in the back of her mind like annoying itch you couldn't scratched.
Nights were hard too. Sleeping without him felt strange. Plus, no one could cut her her favourite fruits like he could.
"I'm chained to the table baby." He said, rattling his chained wrist. "Come closer."
Slowly, she walked to her and the moment she was in arms reach, he pulled her firmly against his body. His free hand cupped the back of her neck and he pushed her face to his. The action forcing her to look at him. The sight of him made her heart gallop in her chest.
He kissed her and instantly, she melted into him - like she always did. The feel of him - his skin against hers - washed away all the coldness and emptiness that plagued the last 2 days. Desperately, she clung to him because it was the last time she could hold him like this.
When they pulled away, they both gasped for a gulp of air. Chests panting and faces red. She grazed her swollen lips with her fingertips, suddenly missing the feel of his mouth against her hers.
"What is that you're carrying?" He asked, nodding at the brown envelope clutched against her body.
Rory blinked and pulled herself back together. She glanced down at the envelope and remembered what she resolved to do. She placed the envelope in front of him and he released the elastic, revealing divorce papers.
Rory swallowed, looking away from him.
Yesterday, she met Luci who had given her those papers. Her signature was at the bottom and all she needed was Gideon's since she had previously filled his side of the paper. Luci also gave her two passports, one for her and one for her mother. A ticket to start fresh somewhere else.
She was so grateful for Luci, for always being there.
"Let's break up." She murmured, her voice breaking.
