《My Ex Husband》CHAPTER 18 - TWIN

I looked down at Darius whose scars were fading away but it was evident he got into a bad accident. His parents and the kids left a few hours with Dad.
"You shouldn't continue blaming yourself Aislinn you weren't the one who hit him with the truck" Amelie said and I shook my head.
"No it's my fault if only I had not said he should die" I said and she hugged me. Amelie is one of the many friends I had growing up here and the only one who stuck by me when Darius cheated on me. She is more like a sister even more than a sister if another word is there to describe her I'll use it because she's more than that. She was with me when my mom died and she even made sure I never felt sad because she always had ways of cheering me up.
"Have you even eaten?" She asked and I just stared at her.
"I knew it that's why I got your favourite chicken nuggets and KFC and hot sauce you aren't saying no come on let's eat or I'll tell uncle Kaiser about it or worse once Darius wakes up I'm telling him about it" she said and I just shook my head before nodding.
"Did you know Darius had twin brother?" Amelie asked and I almost choked on the fry.
"Sorry" she whispered.
"Wait what did you say?" I asked.
"Yeah Darius has a twin brother I think or maybe it's just a guy who looks just like him I met him outside" What? How come I never knew about this?
"Your joking right?" I asked.
"No seriously I got a picture of him actually see just today he looks just like Darius" she said showing me the picture and I almost dropped the phone. I looked at Darius and back at the picture. I zoomed into his neck and saw something. Wait Darius doesn't have a tattoo on his neck. I looked at Darius and moved his hair to the side and checked and there was no tattoo.

"The guy has a tattoo on his neck" I said and Amalie took the phone and checked and looked back at Darius'neck.
This is so fucked.
Beep beep beep beep
I looked at Darius and held his hand and I felt a slight movement which made my eyes widen.
"Darius can you hear me?" I asked and I felt nothing but he later squeezed my hand.
"Amelie he squeezed my hand" I said and she raised her eyebrow.
"No he didn't it's just getting into your head let's just go get the doctor to come and ch- oh there he is" The doctor entered and we got out.
"I'm serious Amelie he held my hand. He squeezed it. He could hear me Amalie" I said and she shook her head.
"Aislinn. You're just tired and besides you never spoke to him. You just stood next to his bed. You need some rest Aislinn you are just tired" Amelie said sadly.
"No I'm serious he squeezed my hand. He squeezed my hand Darius could hear me" I said and she just hugged me while I cried.
"I felt him squeeze my hand" I cried
"It's okay Darius will be okay" she whispered rubbing my back.
"Mrs Esposito. Your husband is getting better maybe he might wake up soon but after a week and he's not awake I'm afraid we can't do anything anymore" the doctor said.
"Okay thank you" I said and he nodded before walking away and I walked back in with Amelie.
"This is what I wanted for him to leave my life and I guess my prayers are getting answers. I wish I never said any of those things. I wish Mariah never came in our lives we would have still been together. I wish I had just forgiven him. I wish he didn't cheat on me. I wish the guy I saw the last time was your twin or your look alike. I wi-"

"What if it's was his lookalike?" Amelie asked.
"No it can't be he told me himself that he had slept with Mariah and he regretted it and if it had been his lookalike Darius wouldn't know anything he would have been clueless" I said.
"But what if he knew about it" Amelie said.
"No Amelie I know it was Darius because he told me himself. I badly want to believe it's not him but I know it's not true besides I am a very stupid person" I said.
"Don't say that Aislinn. You're not it was his mistake not yours" Amelie said.
"It was mine. If I had been a good girlfriend, a good wife, a good daughter, a good sister, a good mother and a good friend none of this would have happened. Sometimes I wonder if I had actually gone to a normal school like you all would my life be like this?" I asked myself.
"You would have been dead by now no offense but you wouldn't have been able to handle the constant bullying because your Dad is Kaiser Santiago. A lot of rich kids have committed suicide I even tried to once but my mom caught me and sent me to the hospital to have a talk with a therapist and a psychiatrist. I know I never told you about it because I didn't want to bother you with my situations but your Dad and brothers knew about it and they also helped me out especially Levi. He really helped getting my mind off of the stuff people said to me"
"I'm so sorry Amelie I guess I made my problems bigger and I never cared about yours please for-"
"Hey it's okay I'm better besides you were also suffering because that's when you and Darius had officially started dating and it was your Mom's death anniversary so I didn't want to bother you" she said and I smiled at her.
"I miss the old days" I said and she nodded.
"Yeah we had so much then" Amelie said.
"I miss the old days when we didn't care about anything and when all I thought about was growing up and having five children three girls and two boys and you said you wanted to have a whole football team" I laughed and she joined.
"Yeah and Darius said you guys will have a football team, basketball team and baseball team " Amelie said and I laughed.
"And when Levi said he can't wait to teach the boys to be players and the girls to be hot bad ass chicks" I said with a laugh.
"You forgot one detail. I said I wanted to marry you that day" I heard a voice I've been longing to hear for a long time. I looked down and saw Darius looking at me.
"It's a Christmas miracle wait it's not Christmas it's a flashback miracle" Amelie said and I laughed.
"Why do you look so grown?" He asked. Huh? I looked at Amelie and she looked at me weirdly.
"Darius do you remember who I am?" I asked.
"Yeah Aislinn"
"Uh Oh the dude's got Amnesia"
