《Colliding Ambition》Chapter 35

*NOT EDITED*
Days turn into weeks following my conversation with my parents.
Dad was able to handle it with discretion. He called the dean after calling David. David is a family friend who also happens to be a private investigator. He dug somethings on Cohan.
He found out Cohan does have mental problems, I don't know what they are exactly. David also found out that Cohan has restraining orders already filed against him, my guess that he stalked more girls, and was kicked out of 2 schools because of sexual assaults.
Because of his prior charges it didn't take much talking from dad to the dean about getting Cohan expelled. Dad also talked to his parents and threatened that if they didn't get him help they'd do everything they could to stop him.
Honestly I just want him to get help.
I haven't thought about him since he left and Rohan's mom helped me file restraining order against him.
Now It's mid-November and tonight is a charity dinner the team is having. Every teacher is invited and some alumni are as well. Not all students are invited, just the team. And every player gets a plus one. Lexi's mine.
I hear a knock at my door. I walk out of my bathroom and see that it's Lexi. "Are you ready yet?" She asks leaning against the frame. Lexi's wearing a black blazer dress with some matching black ballet wrap heels.
"Yeah I just need to hairspray." She nods and walks back out to the living room.
I decided to curl my hair and place it in a half up half down in a intricated way. I'm wearing a dusty rose-gold silk dress that meets a bit past mid thigh with sparkly suede heels.
Just as I finish spraying my hair there's a knock not at my door this time but our apartment door. I can already hear Lexi get the door so I leave my bathroom and grab my purse before going out to the living room.

Rohan smiles when he sees me. His eyes roam over me from head to toe, "You look gorgeous, Fly."
I grin, "And you look handsome." I say as I go up and kiss him but when I try to step away he wraps an arm around my waist and depends the kiss.
There's a cough behind me, "You guys could wait until I'm not standing here." Lexi says with amusement lacing her voice.
I laugh as I step away, Rohan letting me.
He smirks, "Sorry, Lex. You look beautiful too."
She rolls her eyes, "So, he's a charmer too." She mumbles before grabbing her purse.
The charity dinner is being held at a event hall not far from campus so not far from the apartment. When we get there the parking lot is full.
When we walk up to the registration table I see that me, Lexi, Rohan, Kai, Reid and Chase are all sitting at the same table.
Of course Chase's face lights up when he sees Lexi. "Hey, Buttercup."
I notice that the only free seats are the three ones next to Chase's left, no doubt his doing. So Lexi has to sit next to him, "Hey, Casanova." She sits down beside him. I sit beside her and Rohan beside me.
I nod to Kai and Reid, "Hey, knuckleheads."
They glower but smirk.
"What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving?" Kai asks as he takes a sip of his water.
"Seeing my parents in Boston." Reid answers.
"Going to see dad in Alabama." Chase says.
Lexi calls over a waiter. She orders a iced tea. Rohan orders a Pepsi and I order a coffee.
"What about you, Lex?" Kai asks.
She crosses her arms on the table, "Seeing both my parents in Texas."

"We're going to New York." I answer for me and Rohan.
Kai furrows his brows, "Your not seeing your mom?" He asks Rohan.
"She has a case she has to go to Florida for, but we'll have dinner with her when she comes back." Rohan answers.
"How was that? You meeting Alice?" Kai asks me.
I nod, "Good. She's nice, amazing." I elbow Rohan, "Talks a lot of Italian."
Reid even nods, "Yeah sometimes it's hard to understand her. But she's a wonderful woman."
Chase nods as he takes a seat of water but I see him swallow harder, "Chase is that vodka?" I whisper.
He shakes his head.
I grab the glass and sniff, scrunch my nose. "Chase." I hiss.
He grins, "It's not all vodka. And I swear it'll be my only glass." He snatches the glass back.
Just then Coach Davis comes over, "I'm glad you guys could make it."
"Of course, Coach." I say smiling.
He takes a look around the table and stops when he sees Lexi, "So your the girl Chase can't stop talking about."
Lexi chokes on air as her eyes widen and she looks to Chase who is taking extra interest in his plate.
"Well I got to go make the rounds, have fun." He says before walking away.
I look sharply to Chase, "Coach will beat your ass if he catches you with that."
Chase takes a sip, "I know that's why I made it look like water."
I roll my eyes but then the waiter comes with our drinks. But I stop him, "Can I order a cappuccino."
She nods before walking off.
Rohan furrows his brows at me in question.
"I'm getting you to try it." I grin.
"That ain't going to work, Kitty. Ro hates coffee." Chase muses.
I look at Chase, "Yeah well a cappuccino isn't entirely coffee." I shrug.
"Don't torture me, Fly." Rohan whines.
I roll my eyes, "C'mon just a sip?"
Rohan looks into my eyes for a few seconds before, "Fine."
"Holy shit. If it's that easy I should go out and buy contacts and a wig." Reid jokes.
Rohan glowers at him.
But it's not long before the waiter comes back with the cappuccino. I pass it to Rohan who hesitates, "One sip."
He sighs before grabbing the cup and taking a slow sip. We're practically on the edge of our seats.
"Merda." Rohan mutters after his sip.
I smile, "You like it?"
He looks at him. "Yes." He says grudgingly.
I practically squeal. I look at Chase, "See."
Chase just rolls his eyes.
Rohan leans in to whisper in my ear, "I'd do anything you asked me."
I lean into him, "So you don't like the cappuccino?"
He kisses my temple, "No, I like the cappuccino, Katherine."
I smile.

How The Weak Live
This was a rough draft. Quite a meh one. The newer version is These Games of Ours. ---------- Lucious is deserter among many, living by dagger and beggary. Argento’s thirst for knowledge is endless, as is his belly. Kora is the perfect soldier, yet her sword grows dull in monotony. Formally known as the Empire's legend, the Captain is now stuck in stagnation. The Gods, grown weary of human deeds, have decided to indulge themselves in a different way. -------------- THE 7 REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF Clichés shall be avoided like the cancerous tumors they are. The world shall not spread its pink butt cheeks for the main character’s convenience. No character shall be thinner than one slice of white American cheese. No female character shall serve to highlight how overpowered and fabulous the main character is. No villain shall serve to highlight how overpowered and fabulous the main characters are. Grammar laws shall be upheld sometimes. I, the author, swear not to be a prick. I, the author, swear not to go away without warning. If other LitRPGs are like Skyrim, then this is going to be a combination of Dark Souls and Total War. Don't expect action for the sake of action. Be warned, this is a slow novel. Read the reviews to see if this novel is a decent fit for you. Disclaimer: I do not own that gorgeous cover art.
