I lost myself

Somewhere along the way

I became frightened

And the girl I used to be ran inside

Refusing to come back out

I thought it was temporary

But the days went by

And I was always inadequate

I was always disgusting

I was always an idiot

I was always useless

I was always worthless

Soon, I was nothing

But a reflection in a broken mirror

Of what I used to be

So many days have gone by

I'm beginning to wonder if

Maybe, that girl has died

Maybe, she's never coming back

The life source is dead

How much time does that leave me?

But there are these moments,

These moments when I feel the passion

it comes alive

She spent so long inside that the door handles and window locks rusted over, and she can no longer open them

But she is trying to escape

And I need to help her
