I know now that the time when

I felt better,

I know now that the time when

Everything was calming down,

Those times weren't true,

I was just in the eye of the hurricane.

It was calm and quiet,

The rain had lifted,

And in the distance I could see a rainbow

But then it all came crashing down.

The winds picked up once again, the rain pelted the roof, the houses were swaying, and the water was pouring in.

It was filling the house, threatening to

kill me.

And as much as I screamed,

The rescue team was no where in sight.

The first hurricane happened over a year ago.

And since then, more and more

Keep arriving.

Each time they do, they flood my house and destroy the roof.

Each time they do, I am inching from

Death.

And each time,

The rescue team is no where in sight.

But it seemed recently,

When the winds pick up once again, when the house begins to sway, and the water begins pouring in, when it's threatening to kill me,

There is the rescue team.

They paddle me away from the danger,

In a dinky old raft.

But the raft is enough, it's so much more than enough.

I know now that the time when

I felt better,

I know now that the time when

Hurricane season is coming

To an end.
