《Blurred Childhood》Chaotic Mishap

"I'm starting to think that this is a terrible idea," Liz said.
"Look. I'll be just fine," I argued.
"Can you come see me for five seconds?"
"Sure?" I'm not sure why, but I followed the vent to where Baby was, and stood up to see Liz sitting on the front desk, crying. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked, reaching out to her.
"I feel like you shouldn't have done this," Liz wept. "Everything is going wrong and you could die and I don't know what could happen after that."
"Hey, hey," I consoled. I then remembered I could touch her, and put my hand on her arm. "Everything up until now has been a breeze. And if I get past Freddy and Foxy... that should be the hardest part, right?" Liz nodded. "I'm gonna be okay." I offered a hug and she took it, and we held onto each other for a while.
"It'll be alright," I said. "Just guide me through everything, because I might not want to turn on my flashlight. Do I have to be quiet, too?"
"No," Liz replied with a little more control in her voice. "Make all the noise you want. They're motion activated. Well, they're already activated, but as long as they can't see you, you should be just fine."
"Alright. You can see them, right?" I asked. Liz nodded again.
"If I say that they know where you are, run. Run run. I'll guide you to the door, but run. They can't. They're big, but if you can outpace them-"
"I'll be okay."
"Right. And if they catch you, pray that Dad won't kill you too."
"Me too?"
"It's true, you know. About him killing everyone else."
"I figured..." I sighed.
"But don't worry about it. Right now, worry about getting past Freddy and Foxy. And then we'll talk."
"Alright. I'm gonna go back now." Liz and I hugged one more time before I headed back to the main control room.
"I'll let you know when to go and when, and the best time to go into the room is now."
"Okay," I said, not moving.
"Now!" Liz cried. "Go, go go!"
"Ah, right!" I pushed open the vent to Funtime Auditorium and crawled through. I slowly stood up and shut the vent, squinting and looking for the two robots Liz told me to look out for.
"I can't see crap," I chuckled.
"Obviously." Liz grumbled. "And by the way, Freddy is right in front of you. So don't move." I sucked in a breath and tried to stay as still as I could.

"When's he going to leave?" I whispered through my teeth.
"Give it a minute." After a minute, I heard footsteps walking away from me. "Okay. Walk forward... and to the right." Following Liz's instructions, I creeped forward and to the left of where I was standing, and for a minute or two, I thought I was going to make it.
"Michael, Michael, run! Run run!"
They saw me.
I started to run in a blind panic, not caring where I was going, not caring if I ran into anything.
"Okay, keep running, but you need to find the door!" Liz freaked out. "If it's the wrong door, turn around and run until you get to the other door! Okay?"
"There's two rooms now?" I cried.
"Don't worry about it!"
I continued to run, but I ran out of breath quickly. I dropped my pace to a jog and tried to keep moving.
"What are you doing?" Liz shouted. "Why are you slowing down?"
"I can't breath..." I panted. "Are... are they slowing down?"
"No!! Keep going! You're close to a good point to stop for literally five seconds!" I sighed but kept running, and ran into a wall. I felt around and felt a doorknob. I tried to turn it, but Liz freaked out again.
"Michael that's the scooping room!" She shrieked, her voice now raspy. "You WILL die if you go in there, wait..." Liz had me not move for a second. "Now go! Run! Stop at the next door and go in there!" Summoning all the strength I could muster, I made the final sprint to another wall I ran into. I found another doorknob, and Liz didn't object when I turned it.
I slipped into the room and slammed the door, then fell to the ground, gasping for air. This room was dark as well, so I felt around for my flashlight, but couldn't find it.
"Liz, I think I dropped my flashlight," I panted.
"It's alright," She said. "There's a light in here that isn't connected to everything else. It should be right next to the door." I felt up the wall, and my hand moved over a light switch, turning it on. The light was dim, but I didn't mind. I could at least see.
"IT SEEMS THAT YOU HAVE ACCIDENTALLY WANDERED INTO A RESTRICTED AREA. DUE TO THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE MATERIALS YOU MAY BE EXPOSED TO HERE, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE UNTIL THE CLEANUP CREW ARRIVES AT SIX A.M.. SO HANG TIGHT. REST ASSURED YOU WILL BE PROMPTLY RESCUED, FIRED, THEN SENT HOME. THANK YOU FOR BEING AN EMPLOYEE. WE HOPE YOUR EXPERIENCE HAS NOT BEEN AS REGRETTABLE AS OURS."

"Oh, whoops," Liz awkwardly laughed.
"What?"
"Uh, this is Dad's office, and he's tried to make it restricted to employees that are wandering around not doing their job."
"What did I do wrong?" I asked.
"Dad has a security card you have to swipe within... ten? Seconds of entering the room? I don't think anything happens, just you get that warning and get fired."
"Oh. Okay."
I got up and looked around. There was a desk with a security monitor sitting on it, and papers strewn everywhere.
"Oh!" Liz cried happily. "Michael, look at this!" I walked over to the desk and looked at a picture laying on a folder.
"Is this it?" I asked.
"Yeah."
It was a picture of Liz, Mom and I sitting on the couch. Liz was just a baby and I looked like I was a few years old. Mom was looking up, smiling.
"Oh, there's a whole bunch of blueprints in this drawer you might want to check out," Liz said after a minute.
"Yeah?" I bent over and opened the drawer, and Liz was right, it was filled to the brim with blueprints.
I pulled them all out and started shifting through them. Freddy. Foxy. Bonnie. Chica. The robots from... Freddy's Jr., I think Dad called it. Really old blueprints of some kind of Freddy and Bonnie. Newer ones of these Funtimes. Baby and Ballora. And I had just turned over Baby's blueprint when I was in for a nasty shock.
There was a blueprint of a lifelike drawing of a girl. Or rather, many girls. A little girl, a teenager, and a woman.
"What the..." I looked over the blueprint and read some really creepy stuff. Like how it can grow. Bleed. Heal wounds, speak, listen, comprehend speech and words, with a side note that read: Beta 1. Remnant was unnecessary for this project. As much as I convinced him she was- in fact- not dead, he rejected the statement. Poor fool. How I miss you, Henry. I tried to help you, I really did.
"Oh God," I muttered. "He killed someone and tried to make it seem like she was alive the whole time by replacing her with a robot?"
"Do you want to keep looking?" Liz asked with uneasiness in her voice.
"Sure?" I tossed aside the blueprint of the girls and almost passed out when I saw the one underneath.
This time, it was just a boy. Very detailed sketches. It looked like...
"Me?" I got out. "Is... is this me? What on earth?" I read all the markings and notes, and things became clear quickly.
Beta 2: Remnant is not required but is recommended. Test run. Side effects if remnant is used: amnesia. Memories should come back soon enough.
I'm sorry Michael. I love you.
I felt sick. What even was this? This is me, that's what it is. After I died, Dad had spent his time making a robot of me. To do what? Not spark suspicion? Let me live as a kid again out of what? Love? For Mom? To replace Liz? A million thoughts swarmed through my head as I went to read the last blueprint.
It was another lifelike robot, but a man. It looked almost just like the Michael robot blueprint, but a bit red marker had written across it: FIRST TEST SUCCESSFUL. NOT TO BE BUILT. Something in me felt as if this was meant to be built. It was too new. Even under the marker were more notes.
Beta 3: If Beta 2 is unsuccessful. Objective: Free them.
Free them? What did that mean?
"What does any of this mean?" I cried. "Is this all I am? Some experiment?"
"Uh, Michael, there's something else under the desk you might want to check out." Liz said with an edge in her voice.
In anger, I tossed the papers aside and looked under the desk. There was a padlocked box. Or chest, really. It looked big enough to hold a body. A...
If you loved your son, you would bury him and not keep his dead body in a box in the basement.
I cursed under my breath and moved over to open it. The locks were open, so I took a deep breath and prepared myself for what was inside. I opened the box and almost passed out. I should've known, though.
It was me.
It was the real me, the dead me. Half decayed.
I fought the urge to vomit. I wanted to look away, but I couldn't. My skull was crushed, my eyes were half open.
"What... what the hell?" I cried. "What the hell is-"
I didn't get anything else out before I was hit on the back of the head.
I fell over.
Everything went white.
That's all I remember.

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. Cover drawn by yours truly in MS paint. (I have skill, I know)

The Solstice Wars
In the grey-cloaked cityscape of modern London, student William Whiteswift has two secrets: the Fae walk among humanity, and they are just as vulnerable as us. His childhood was filled with them; they spawned nightmares and episodes, dreams and obsessions. The nightmares remain, of course, but the fae are his normal. Now, he heals them, for William is gifted. When he saves a faerie -- a humanoid fae -- from an injury he can’t explain, William is forced to let her stay. Finally, he may have taken on more than he can handle; Ainsel could uproot his life in seconds. Instead, she cracks a Pandora’s box of mysteries: someone just flipped her home on its head. And because of that, she did something unspeakable. And somehow, she doesn’t want to hurt him. The longer she stays, though, the crueler his nightmares grow. Worse, governments hide secrets, too: they know of faeries. To them, all fae are monsters fueled by solstices and equinoxes. As the autumn equinox approaches, the culling agency COURT hurries to track Ainsel down. With teams across the United Kingdom and Ireland -- iron-strong despite the region’s history -- they are nearing success. A world away, their country wounded, the faerie leaders hunger for justice. In the looming shadows of war and of Ainsel’s mistake, can a human and a faerie protect each other against their own kind? Could their plight mend rifts between bitter nations and bitterer people? Or will it, like past attempts at peace, shatter? Quick note! I hope you all enjoy the Irish (Irish Gaelic) words here and there! All are defined or explained within the text. This is my chance to show off speaking it at least somewhat decently. Still learning. ;D -K
