《Snatched》Chapter 9

You slowly opened your eyes, squinting under the bright light above you.
Ow why the hell is that light so bright
You tried to sit up but were stopped when burning pain ripped trough your head and arms.
Okay let's not do that then
You turned your head to the side and immediately knew where you were.
"Ah yes the hospital, my favorite place to be." you groaned
"It would seem so, you have been here for a while." A nurse walked in through the door carrying a tray of food.
"How long?" you had taken may trips to the hospital after using your quirk, you couldn't exactly go home when you were in a comma so you always ended up in the hospital.
"Three days this time Miss L/n." She responded placing your food on the table beside your bed.
"Wow, almost a new record."
You were about to ask what happened, when it all came back to you in a flash.
The indoor training, using Iida's quirk, the explosions, Izuku and Katsuki running at each other and then you getting blasted by Katsuki's explosion after you drained Izuku of his quirk.
Fuck, they probably hate me, Izuku would have told them what happened and they would have come to their own conclusions.
"There goes my plan of having friends." you muttered and buried your face in your pillow, trying to ignore the pain in your head.
"I don't know what you're talking about Miss L/n, but you had plenty of visitors everyday. They usually come around this time."
"What? Who?"you were dumbfounded, how could anyone want to see you after what you did to Izuku.
"Your uncle of course, as well as this green haired boy who came in everyday and a blond who we had to ask to leave a few times, after he started yelling at the doctors to wake you up. And then there was your friend with red and white hair who we had to escort out because he refused to leave."
You smiled, you weren't surprised by Shoto, he knew about your quirk and always tried to stay with you whenever you were in the hospital, but Izuku and Katsuki?
Maybe they were waiting for me to wake up so they could tell me to never talk to them again.
"Oh also," the nurse continued "there was what seemed to be an entire class of students that came in but we couldn't allow them all to see you."
"What?"
At that very moment somebody knocked on the door.
The door opened to reveal a green haired boy whose eye lit up the second they saw you awake.
"Y/n!"
"Izuku?"
Ikuku ran towards you to enveloped you in a hug and the nurse you were talking to left you two to your reunion .

"Owwwww Izu my arms!"
He immediately backed away.
"I'm sorry Y/n I'm just so happy to see you awake, how are you feeling?"
You were shocked, why was he so happy? Did he not know what you did to him?
"I honestly don't know, I don't remember what happend to me."you managed to answer his question, your mind still going a mile a minute.
"I don't really know either, after you drained my quirk I passed out and I only remember you being carried away in a stretcher."
What
"You know about the quirk draining?"
"Yeah, I sort of figured and then I asked Todoroki because he seemed to know what was going on and he didn't want to say anything but he confirmed it."
He smiled at you, his eyes holding only joy to see you awake.
Your jaw dropped.
"You don't hate me?" you couldn't believe how upbeat he was being.
"What? Why would I hate you?!"Izuku waved his arms around in front of him so fast they were only a blur.
You looked down at your hands "My quirk, I use other people for power, that's not the quirk of a hero Izu." he looked at you like a confused puppy.
"Y/n, your quirk is what you make it, you should know that by now and come on you got into the hero course! How much more verification do you need? You have always been there protecting other people, it doesn't matter what your quirk is in my eyes you're already a hero." Izuku smiled at you, showing his words were completely genuine.
"But... but I lied to you." your eyes were filled with tears.
"I don't mind, you didn't want to lose anyone so you did what you had to. "
You held back your tears. Years of hiding and lying just because you believed you wouldn't be accepted and just a few words could change your entire view of yourself.
Izuku is going to make a great hero.
You sniffled away the last of the water in your eyes. It would take a while but you knew that this was the start to your self healing.
"I would hug you right now Izu, but at the moment I kind of can't sit up."
"Don't sweat it Y/n!" he assured you "Recovery Girl is coming in later today to finish healing you. She said she couldn't finish until you woke up."
"Does the class know about my quirk?" you were feeling better about yourself but you were still weary about what your new friends would think.
"Yeah, Mr Aizawa told everyone after you went to the hospital, he said something about us deserving to know the truth about your quirk so that we could work as a team."

Of course he told them, he didn't like the fact I refused to tell everyone, but it is what it is.
"What was their reaction?" you braced yourself for the worst.
"Everyone thinks you're supper cool! A few people were jealous but besides that everyone was exited for you to try their quirks." Izuku seemed to sparkle as he told you about your classes positive reaction to your quirk.
Today is sure full of surprises
"They all wanted to come an see you but the lady at the front desk said only a few people were allowed to come in so Mr Aizawa said that they have to wait until you come back to school. It's just Mr Aizawa, me, Kacchan and Todoroki who they allowed to come in."
You looked up at the green haired boy, an overwhelming sense of gratitude filled your chest.
"Thank you Izu."
"For what? I didn't do anything you don't have to thank me Y/n!"
"No, you are amazing, thank you for staying with me. Your too good for this world."
The freckled boy's face started turning a familiar shade of red when the door flew open to reval an angry looking visitor.
"Get the fuck out Deku your time is up."
"Katsuki?"
The blond boy's eyes widened and for a split second his expression was of pure relief, but as quickly as it was there, it turned to one of indifference.
"So you finally decided to fucking wake up."
"Yes, not one of my better decisions." you replied sarcastically.
Izuku begrudgingly turned towards the door recognizing that his visiting time was up and waved to you before he left.
"Bye Y/n I hope to can come back to school tomorrow."
"Bye Izu!" you responded and then glared at the place he was standing remembering you forgot to murder him for breaking your rule again.
You were about to yell for him when you noticed Katsuki staring at your arms with a guilty look on his face.
"So Kat, are you going to tell me what the fuck happened?"
His guilty expression surprisingly didn't change when you spoke to him.
He must of really fucked me up
"You jumped in the way of my explosion like an idiot that's it." he didn't make eye contact with you and you could tell he felt really bad.
You spoke softly not wanting to seem patronizing "It's fine Kat, don't worry about it."
His head snapped to you "Why the hell do you think I'm worried about you, I just don't want you to die because I couldn't become a hero with a criminal record."
He feels really bad
"Well I'm not going to die, lucky you." you were comforting him in a way that wouldn't scare him off, something that was hard to learn to do.
"Ugh whatever." He sat on the side of your bed and stared silently at the ground.
You couldn't help but admire his face when he wasn't yelling, he looked so peaceful.
Suddenly he reached out and gently touched your head.
You stared up at him shocked, in the time that you've known Katsuki, he almost never showed you physical affection.
His hand was warm but you flinched at the weight on your sore skull.
He looked just as surprised as you did by his movements and made eye contact with you for a split second before pulling his hand back and quickly getting up to rush towards the door.
He didn't turn around, but the top of his ears were bright red.
"Get better soon or some shit."and with that he was gone.
That was... nice
Shoto came in a few minutes later but you were already tired from being awake for so long so he just talked at you and you would hum in response.
He wasn't as emotional as the other two boys who had come to visit you, he had seen you in the hospital may times before. He did glare at you for a while though.
He told you that you had been blown into the wall by Katsuki's explosion and received a concussion and severe burns on your arms. The only reason the rest of your body was fine was because your hero costume was made to be fire proof.
He told you that when you used your quirk on Iida the entire class was shocked and impressed and that when you threw your self into harms way to stop your friends, All Might had said that you were one of the most heroic students he had ever met.
Shoto also filled you in on the results of the rest of the training tests and some of your classmates quirks.
When Recovery Girl came in to finish healing you, she said that you would be able to go back to school the next morning and you just had to spend the night in the hospital.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?"
"I'll be fine Sho, tiz but a flesh wound." he rolled his eyes at your Holy Grail reference which you had made him watch with you.
"I can stay if you want."
"No you can't, and your lovely father wouldn't appreciate it if you did."
Shoto's eyes narrowed at the mention of his father but knew it would be better not to anger him.
"Fine, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye Sho!" you waved, feeling better because of Recovery Girl and fell back into your pillow.
You closed you eyes exhausted by the few visitors you had, along with Recovery Girl's treatment.
Right before you fell asleep a thought crept into your mind.
Why didn't Kat mention my quirk?

The Epiphany Colony
Brad Asher has been a private detective on the Epiphany Colony orbiting Mars for about a year before stumbling into a conspiracy that threatens the safety and stability of the colony. Note that the story here is the first draft and has a lot of ideas, characters, and plotlines that I ended up dropping in the final version that I released here currently available on Kindle Unlimited. The entire second half was restructured, as I ended up not being satisfied with some of the things that I introduced and felt like it had strayed too far from my initial vision of a space-based detective noir story.
