《Snatched》Chapter 16

Uggghhhh, I don't wanna get up.
You felt your body stir and decided you had to open your eyes eventually. "Welp, I'm not surprised." You looked up at the bright lights of the hospital from your bed and pushed yourself into a sitting position to find a nurse walking into your room.
"Miss L/n, I'm glad to see you're awake."
"How long this time?"
"Only two days."
"huh?" you stared at her in awe, you had drained two people's quirks, and fought until you could barely see, how the heck were you already awake.
"I can see your confused, but don't worry there is a good explanation." you looked to the door again to see a doctor walk in carrying a clip board.
"During your fight I assume you had to resort to adrenaline to keep yourself awake right?" She asked.
"Yeah, I couldn't stay awake so I tried everything."
"The adrenaline in your body heightened your senses to a point where the pain you were feeling was drastically increased. Meaning that your injuries weren't as bad as you thought they were."
You thought back to the fights you were having and how every part of your body felt as though it was on fire.
"Okay, I guess that makes sense..."
"You only sustained one broken rib, a minor concussion and a few bruises and scrapes. Most of your injuries were fairly easy to heal with the help of Recovery Girl, but you'll just have to wait out the concussion."
"Thank you so much, but I still don't understand how I'm awake right now, I really overused my quirk I should be out for at lest a week."
"Yes that's the difficult part, we consulted with some professionals in the field and have concluded that the most likely reason is that you are getting more efficient at using you're quirk. However, that is only a hypothesis and you should use your quirk sparingly until we have run some more tests."
You looked down at your hands curling each of your fingers. "So I either have suddenly acquired some pro skills or there is something wrong with me?" you said quietly.
"That is correct Miss L/n."
"Awesome! Imma go with option one! Wait till I tell Kat, he'll be so jealous. I wonder if Shota will let me come with him on some missions now..."
You froze.
"Oh god."
Your eyes suddenly welled up with tears as you remembered your uncles' state after the USJ attack.
It's my fault, I couldn't save him, I was too late...again.
"Miss L/n are you alright?! The nurse rushed to your side as you started hyperventilating.
Then you remembered Izuku lying crumpled on the ground and your stomach churned.
"I... I can't... why..." You put your head in your hands in and attempt to calm down.
"Y/n stop doing that."
Your head whipped to the door at the sound of your uncle's slightly muffled voice, but were shocked to see what looked like a human mummy.
"Shota?"
"I'm fine, don't look at me like that."
A wave of relief washed over you and you jumped up to go and hug him only to be stopped by a wave of dizziness.
"Holly mother of woah!" Your head started to spin and you fell backwards onto your bed.
"How is she doing?" You heard your uncle address the doctor.
"She is doing well, I already told you about her situation so she should be free to go by tonight, just keep and eye on her."

"I'm free!" you threw your arms into the air without getting up, not wanting to fall again.
"Y/n, I'll get you in a few hours, get some rest."
"Sure."
You waited until you heard all three people exit the room and the door close before you started to cry.
After all, you were only a high school student, you didn't know how to cope with the things that had happened to you. You usual method of pushing everything down wasn't working.
It's all my fault, I couldn't save them. Shota is covered in bandages I don't know where Izuku is and I have no idea if everyone got out safe. If I was stronger I could have helped them all.
You cried into your pillow, muffling the sounds of you're sobs. Your brain played imaged of the villains that you faced and all of the events you had gone through over and over again.
In the moment, you had pushed all of your emotions out of the way so that you could keep your head, but now they were all coming back.
Fear, anger, worry, frustration.
It was overwhelming. It was all you could to to stop yourself from reminiscing on past trauma as well.
Come on Y/n be strong, you've got this.
You sat up and flipped your pillow around, hiding the tear stained side. Grabbing a tissue from the table beside you you cleaned yourself up and slowly got out of bed not wanting to be hit with another wave of dizziness.
As you walked to the bathroom sniffling, you muttered to quietly, pulling yourself together.
"I'm fine, they're fine, Izuku's fine, Shota's fine, everyone is fine. This time, it's not my fault."
***
"Y/n!?"
"Calm down Sho, my ears."
"Sorry."
You gingerly sat down on your couch, Shota had dropped you off at your apartment, after you wined about not wanting to stay with him even if you had a concussion, and the first thing you did was call Shoto.
"How is everyone?"
"Most of the students in our class made it out unscathed, save for you and Midoriya. Mr. Aizawa was admitted to the hospital and Thirteen was as well."
You knew that much, you had visited Thirteen on your way out of the hospital with Shota.
"What about you, are you okay Sho?"
"Yes I'm fine." The way he spoke told you he was certainly not fine.
"Shoto, don't lie to me."
Silence
"Sho, if something happened I need to know."
"I am fine, what did they say about you."
You sighed, he obviously wan't going to say anything right now, you'd ask him later.
"I had a broken rib and a few scrapes and shit but that's all good now, all I've got to deal with is a minor concussion."
He didn't say anything for a while.
"Sho?"
"How are you awake?"
Ah yes, the exciting bit.
"Well you see, lovely Shoto, I have surpassed y'all losers and am now a complete pro."
"Y/n you told me not to lie to you."
"How dare you!"
"..."
"K fine, they said that I most likely have just improved my quirk by using it so much, but they aren't sure yet."
"That doesn't make sense."
"Sure it does, I'm just that awesome!"
"No, why would it improve so drastically in such a short amount of time."
"Cuz. I'm. Awesome."
"Y/n-"
"K gota go Sho, I'll talk to you later, byeeeee."

You hung up before he had a chance to say anything. You were actually worried about your quirk, you didn't want to lose it or something to happen that would stop you from becoming a hero. To combat to worry you just ignored it.
"Hmm what should I do? Netflix? Yep Netflix."
***
You lay face down on your desk trying to take a quick nap before class started. Turns out watching Netflix all night was not one of your best ideas, you also had a headache due to your concussion.
"Y/n, are you sure you're okay?" Momo asked you.
When you had walked into the class everyone had told you how cool you were at the USJ and asked if you were okay. You were too tired to interact with them so you told them you were tired and needed some space. Maybe it was kinda mean but you didn't deserve their attention.
"Yep, no worries Momo I'm all good."
You smiled at her, catching a side eye from Shoto. He wasn't very happy with you at the moment, for a lot of reasons, but you hadn't talked to him about it yet.
"Did you guys watch the new last night?" Hagakure asked, loud enough for you to hear. "It was so cool that we got a few seconds of screen time! But I bet nobody noticed me hanging out in the background."
"We're totally big deals, those new channels love us, we're basically celebrities." Denki stated smugly.
"Don't be so full of yourself, the hero course that pumps out pros was attacked at that's all they care about."
Oof harsh Jiro
"Yeah, if the pros hadn't shown up who knows what would have happened to us." Sero added.
"Don't be so pessimistic Sero."
"WHY DID YOU SAY THAT!" Mineta screeched "I'm gonna pee myself just thinking about it!"
"SHUT UP LOSER!" Katsuki yelled back.
"Did you guys see Y/n though!" Sato pumped his fist "She destroyed those villains!"
"Yes, her strength is truly admirable." Bird guy remarked.
"Aww thanks guys."
"Attention! Homeroom class is about to begin!" Iida yelled "Everyone stop talking and take your seats!"
"Uhh, we're all sitting Kirishima said blankly."
"Oof Sonic, you tried."
You glanced at the clock wondering when Shota would show up,against your many protests he was still going to teach.
"Morning class." Shota stood at the door, bandages and all.
Speaking of the devil.
You class was shook to see him teaching in his state, but he brushed them off.
"My well-being is irrelevant, what's more important is that your fight isn't over yet... the UA sports festival is about to start."
"Wait a second," Jiro started "Is it really such a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the USJ attack?"
You had to agree with her, those villains may have been sloppy, but they weren't paying any games.
Shota sighed, "Apparently the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever, plus they're beefing up security. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA, it's not something we can cancel because of a few villains."
You thought back to the smoke villain, he could transport any amount of villains into the stadium with no problem. As skeptical as you were, you had to trust the pros, so you put it out of your mind.
This is where I can get scouted, it's the first step in becoming a real hero.
Mr. Aizawa continued, "It's true that being scouted by a famous hero agency can give you greater experience and popularity. That's why the festival matters, if you want to go pro one day, the event can open a path for you. One chance a year, three chances in a lifetime, no aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack of on your training."
That was intense.
"Class dismissed."
Everyone immediately started talking about their plans for the festival.
Okay if I want to win I'm going to need a game plan, so first things first.
"Hey Ochak...oh."
"Deku, Iida let's do our best in the sports festival!" The normally bubbly girl had a terrifying aura around her and her expression was one of pure determination. "Everyone I'm gonna do my best!" She exclaimed raising her fist in the air.
"Okay... um I'll come back later?" You started to shuffle backwards
"Oh hi Y/n, I didn't see you there, what's up?" she had returned to her normal self so it took you a second to get a hold of yourself.
"Sorry for being so forward but I was wondering if I could try your quirk." you looked away and bit your lip. If you were going to win at the sports festival you needed to know as many quirks as possible and you and Uraraka were friends, you hoped.
"Yeah sure! This is going o be so cool! What do I do?"
You were a bit taken back by her openness to having her quirk drained but if you looked scared she would to. Your headache suddenly got worse but you shook it off.
"Y/n, you're going to try Uraraka's quirk?" Denki asked from behind you, there was a little group forming around the two of you.
"Yep, okay Ochako all you have to do is stand there, it's going to feel a little funny but I won't take much. Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Hell yeah!" Her fiery aura returned as she readied herself.
"Here it goes."
You tried to mask your nervousness as you reached out with your quirk and locked onto the girls in front of you. You cringed at the pain in your head.
It's training Y/n, don't be a wimp.
You took a deep breath and pulled 20% of her quirk.
You opened your eyes and looked around, everything was fine Ochako looked a little tired but overall no explosions, no death.
"How do you feel?"
"A bit tired but I thought it would be a lot worse!"
"Well that was a little underwhelming", Kirishima stated.
You stuck your tongue out at him and decided to try her quirk. You didn't really remember how she used it, you had only seen it a few times so you just went for it, activating the quirk.
All of a sudden, you felt really light and you started getting taller.
Wait not taller, you were floating!
"Holly shit! This is so cool!"
Your body felt as light a a feather as you stared down at the impressed faces of your classmates. You weren't worried about them seeing under your skirt, after meeting grapes you always wore shorts underneath.
"Damn Y/n that's so cool!" Deki exclaimed as you floated higher.
"I know rig- ow!" you rubbed your head and looked up at what you had hit. "The ceiling?"
You tried to swim through the air to get away from the top of the room but you weren't moving.
"Wait... how do I get down?"
The people who were watching you deadpanned.
"Did you really not think that far ahead?!" Krirshima scolded you.
"No I did not." Now your whole body was up against the ceiling and you couldn't figure out how to move around.
"Ochako helllppp."
"Um, I usually just say release and let go, that works for me."
"Okay okay... release." you tried to deactivate the quirk but for some reason you were still in the air, the only thing that happened was your headache got worse.
Ooohhhhhh
"Hey guys, I think my concussion is getting in the way of me using my quirk properly."
"Wait you have a concussion!" Izuku yelled. " You said you were fine!"
You hadn't seen him standing by the door, he was avoiding you and you knew it.
"Yeeeaaahhh, I lied. Shoto help meee."
You looked to your icy-hot friend who was also being weird, he had stayed behind to watch you.
He sighed, obviously unimpressed at you flailing around on the ceiling.
"Uraraka can you get up there and use your quirk to deactivate the floating."
"Yeah sure."
She looked to be a bit shocked that Shoto had talked to her, he had a reputation for not being very social.
"Oh Sho that's a good idea! I can just deactivate my quirk!"
"Wait Y/n no!"
In the heat of the moment you had forgotten that you were in fact quite a few feet off the ground, so when you let go of Ochako's quirk, you naturally started to fall.
Oh, I get it now.
You expected to meet the solid ground but instead felt two arms grab hold of you and catch before you hit the floor.
You looked up and were met with angry multicoloured eyes.
"Oh, hi Sho, please don't kill me."
