《Snatched》Chapter 21

You stood up straight and smiled at the people in the audience. They were clapping and cheering like there was no tommorrow.
You ran over to Izuku who was looking upwards with tears in his eyes and tackled him into a hug.
"Izu! You did so well! I'm so proud of you!"
He hugged you back but quickly pulled away.
"Y/n! What was that!"
"What was what?"
"That stunt you pulled at the end!"
"Ohhh that. Well you see..."
"Y/N WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!"
You looked over to Katsuki who was stomping towards you, sparks flying from his hands. He was obviously exhausted but he was also furious that you used him.
"Okay look, I'm sorry I used you guys buuttt I mean it wasn't against the rules."
"I don't care about that Y/n!" Izuku shook you by the shoulders "It was dangerous!"
Katsuki pushed him off you and yelled in your face, "DANGEROUS MY ASS, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
You flinched and took a step back, "You can do that later, but for now calm down."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY!"
"Bakugo." You said sternly glaring at him, "You need to stop, you are being watched by this entire stadium and you need to conserve your stamina."
He looked incensed, like he was going to quite literally explode but before he could say anything else you pulled him into a tight hug.
"WHAT THE F-"
"Thanks Kat, you really saved me there."
He stopped thrashing for a moment and took a deep breath. You pulled away and noticed he had clamed down... well as much as he could but he wasn't yelling anymore.
His face was still one of fury but at least he could contain himself.
"I'm going to beat you to a bloody pulp."
You smirked "You can certainly try."
The rest of the 42 qualifiers joined you in the arena pretty quickly, all of your class made it through which was awesome. The top spots went to your class as well, with Izuku in first, you in second, Todoroki in third and Katsuki in fourth.
Before you knew it, the text challenge was already picked, a cavalry battle. Everyone was supposed to choose teams of two to four people and each person was assigned a point value based on the results of the obstacle course. The point assignments went up by increments of five which left you with a value of 205.
Well that puts me in a pretty fun and fresh spot.
Midnight continued announcing everyone's points and finally got to the top. "And the first place contestant will be assigned a point value of TEN MILLION!"
...
"I FREAKING CALLED IT!" you exclaimed jumping up.
Everyone turned to look at you and realization dawned on their faces. Some how you had predicted that the winner of the first challenge would be put at a disadvantage so you aimed for second instead.
After staring at you for an awkward moment all the students set their sights on Izuku who looked like his soul had left is body. He could have had a huge target on his back by the way everyone was looking at him.
Midnight finished explaining the rules. "Individual point values are added together to reach each team's total. These point values are displayed via headbands. The goal of the game is to steal headbands in order to raise the team's score. Contestants are not allowed to make each other fall on purpose. Even if a team loses their headband or falls down, they can compete until the thirty-minute time limit is up."

Okay that seams easy enough.
"Now you've got fifteen minutets to build your teams!"
Everyone started talking and gathering people immediatly.
You honestly had no idea what to do. You whole plan was to not be at a disadvantage but the smartest thing to do would be to team up with the player with the most points. You also wanted to make sure you didn't fade into the background.
It's easier to keep headbands than it is to try to take them away.
You looked around to try and get an idea of who was left and you saw a huge crowd of people running towards you.
"Y/n do you want to be on our team?"
"I don't know your name but join us!"
"Can I please be with you!"
You weren't surprised a lot of people wanted to be on your team. You came second and had an extremely versatile quirk, but you had a plan already.
"Sorry guys but I'm going to be on Izuku's team."
They immediately stopped running towards you. None of them wanted to be on his team, even if you were also there, the risk of failing was just too high.
They did a 180 and gathered around Katsuki instead asking to be on his team.
You scanned the arena and saw Izuku going around trying to get team mates but being ignored.
You ran up to him, "Hey Izu! Want to be on a team!"
He looked shocked "Bu-but Y/n I thought everyone would be asking to team up with you! You could win super easily with your quirk and strategy skills!"
"Thanks, but you are my strategy and I intend to make an impression! Let's win this."
"Y/n..."
Suddenly you were hit with a huge geyser of water coming from the green haired boy's eyes.
"AH! IZU STOP!"
"Y/n you are so kind and amazing thank you so much!"
"Hey Deku! Let's team up!" Ochaco called out to your team mate and he turned his waterfall of tears to her instead.
"Saved." you muttered
You decided to let Izuku handle the people on the team you didn't really care who they were as long as they could run.
You sat cross legged on the ground and tried to rest for the duration of your break.
I haven't used my quirk that much yet which is good, but all of that running really tired me out. Oh yeah I have to go and thank Iida for helping me train again.
You looked around for him and saw that he was talking to Izuku and Ochaco you got closer but the two of them were already walking away looking dejected. Iida was standing in a group with Denki, Momo and Todoroki.
So that's his team huh, pretty OP if you ask me.
You decided that you'd talk to Tenya later because you were not going to get closer to Todoroki than you needed to. You instead jogged over to Izuku and Ochaco and asked them what happened. They told you that Iida felt like Izuku was a rival and wanted to beat him.
"Of course, everyone is trying to get ahead of the child who breaks his arms every time he uses his quirk. Lovely." you signed.
Before you walked away you glanced back at Iida who was gawking at you.
I guess he didn't know I was on their team.
Right as you turned around you noticed Todoroki staring at you and for the fist time in years, you couldn't read his expression.

Iida was shocked that you had decided to team up with Midoriya. He was going to ask you to join their group and he couldn't wrap his head around your decision.
"Why would she take such a big risk by joining up with Midoriya when she could almost guarantee her success with another team?"
"Because she doesn't want a guarantee. She wants to show everyone that she can win when she has the worst odds." Todoroki spoke with no emotion as though he was just talking about another competitor and not someone who used to be his friend.
"It is an interesting strategy, but if she succeeds she will definitely be noticed by the hero agencies." Momo added
"I can't believe she made it through the obstacle course with only using her quirk once to save people! That's pretty cool if you ask me."
"Kaminari how do you know that?"
"Present Mic announced it like four times Iida."
Momo put a hand to her chin "Yes, Y/n is probably doing the best out of everyone so far, even if she didn't actually win the first round, she has certainly made everyone notice her."
By the end of the fifteen minutes you had your team. It consisted of you, Ochaco, Izuku and Tokoyami. You all huddled together and you told them your plan.
"Okay guys the strategy is simple all we have to do is keep Izuku's headband and mine if possible. All of the teams are going to be coming after us so it's going to be difficult to evade them all, but we can do it. Here's what is going to happen..."
If you were being honest you were really lucky. The only reason you were doing well was because your main competitors were people who you new better than yourself, and you could predict what they were thinking. In any other situation you would have had to use your quirk a lot which was not a good thing for your stamina.
You were alowing yourself to use your quirk for this round but hopfully not a lot.
I'm working with a team this time so I have to be there to support them.
Your team had opted to have Izuku as the rider and you as the left side. Izuku couldn't really use his quirk so that was the only option.
"Let's get this game started in three!"
You took a deep breath.
"Two!"
You prayed to Kermit that you and a good plan.
"One!"
"Let's do this."
"BEGIN!"
The second the game started all of the teams came running towards you.
"Izuku this is all you."
You closed your eyes and blocked out all of the noise around you and started the first stage of your plan. You needed to find a specific quirk and you had to focus to get it, so staying safe for the first few minutes was all up to your other team mates.
Where is it where is it where is it! Uhhh... there!
Just as you found the quirk you were looking for you felt your team start sinking into the ground.
"NOW!" you shouted
Ochaco used her quirk to lift everyone off the ground just enough for you to position yourself.
Then, you used Iida's quirk to propel your team up into the air.
"Haha yes! Wait... shit!"
You hadn't had much practice using Iida's quirk, especially not in the air so your team started spinning in circles while you flew through the air.
"Y/n!"
"I'm working on it!"
After a few seaconds of whirling through the air you were able to steady the engines so you went in a straight line.
"I think I'm gong to be sick..." Ochaco groaned
"I am also extremely dizzy." Tokoyami added. Dark shadow was flopping all over the place and look like it was seeing stars.
"Let's land for a second and recover."
"Good idea Izu."
You managed to land and all four of you leaned against each other for support.
"Uh oh! It looks like team Midoriya are all worn out from their flight through the sky!"
"Hey why aren't we team Y/n!" You shouted at where you assumed Present Mic was sitting.
"We have more important things to worry about!" Izuku exclaimed point to both Shoji and another team who were racing towards you.
"Do you guys mind leaving us alone!" you groaned "Ochaco get us a bit off the ground I'll push us."
"Got it!"
Right before you started running again you felt something sticky on the bottom of your shoe.
Is that a...
"FUCK YOU MINETA!"
A sticky purple ball glued you down to the ground.
"But where did it come from?" Exlamined Tokoyami.
"Hi guys..." The pervy child waved from the tent Shoji had made out of his arms.
Suddenly your team was pelted by sticky purple balls and Tsu's toung also started trying to apprehend you.
"Jesus fricking christ."
Tokoyami narrowly dodged Mineta's attacks "Quickly we must move!"
"I know!"
You pulled off your shoe an ripped the top of it off the sole. You chucked the top part of your shoe directly towards Mineta and started running. The purple balls stopped coming towards you so you assumed you had hit your target.
The other team was way to close for comfort so you nodded at Ochaco who floated you higher into the sky.
This time I know how stay straight so we should be golden!
Just as you thought you were away from danger, an explosion from the ground sent Katsuki flying through the air towards you.
"Don't think for a second you're safe!" he yelled reaching for Izuku's headband. "I've got you!"
"Tokoyami!"
Dark Shadow came out of nowhere and shielded your team from the explosion sending Katsuki falling towards the ground. You didn't have a chase to see what happened to him as you aimed for a somewhat smooth landing.
You all made it to the ground and let out a sigh of relief you smiled at Dark Shadow to show your appreciation.
"Well we're not dead."
"That is a very low standard Y/n."
"But it's one we can acheive."
"We are seven minutes in so let's see where everyone is in terms of points!" Present Mic announced." A large screen displayed all of the teams and their point count "Huh!? What's this? It's seems like beside team Midoriya class 1-A isn't doing too hot! Even team Bakugo has zero points!"
"Oof sucks to suck."
As your team continued to run and evade other groups you over heard a conversation between Katsuki and a boy with blond hair and blue eyes.
Not gonna lie he looks insane.
He said something about throwing the qualifying round and studying our quirks instead of trying for first place.
"Hey Izuku did you hear that?!"
"Yeah I did. Guys I think we'll be safe from Kacchan and the class 1-B team over-"
You skidded to a stop to avoid the team blocking your path.
"Todoroki."
He didn't even look at you, he just stared coolly at Izuku.
"I'll be taking that now."

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
