《Actions Speak Louder Than Fortune Cookies》112 - No Clowns

Later that afternoon, Rylee and Sebastian were still curled together under the covers, naked and soaking it in.
Rylee was resting her head on Sebastian's chest, as Sebastian gently played with her hair, running his fingers through it.
"So. I have a thought." Sebastian spoke into the quiet of the bedroom. His sentence quietly echoed across the hardwood floor, bouncing off the walls.
"Hmm?" Rylee hummed questioningly.
"What if...I put together our wedding?"
Rylee lifted her head now, curious.
"Like we'll still do a big thing with everyone like we said. But I have a few things in mind that I'd love to do this week...but...I want to surprise you with it."
Rylee thought it over for a moment, "You know what? Yes. I trust you. Full heartedly. Just. No clowns."
Sebastian laughed heartily, "Ugh fine. I'll have to make a few calls now."
Rylee laughed in return, "But no, really. I trust you."
Sebastian leaned down to kiss Rylee tenderly.
"So, we should probably invite Chris and Lex out for dinner...tell them the news."Rylee said nonchalantly.
"Mmm. Yeah. We probably should huh?Especially since they're going to be our witnesses." Sebastian responded.
Rylee reached over for her phone and texted Alexa.
🌻
Dinner, 8, Mastro's?
There was barely a minute before she responded.
💞
Absolutely. We'll be there.
"Well that was easy enough. But is Lex going to be able to handle this news in a public setting? Seeing as we're keeping it hush hush." Sebastian laughed lightly.
"Probably not, but she'll have to." Rylee responded with a laugh of her own.
——————————
Eight o'clock rolled around quickly and Sebastian and Rylee were sitting at their reserved table at Mastro's Steakhouse. Sebastian wearing all black, a pair of black Chelsea boots, black chinos, and a black button down, Rylee in a wine red knee length lace dress with black strappy heels.
They both stood up when they saw Chris and Alexa walk in. Chris, wearing a light blue button down, navy blue dress pants, and brown oxfords, and Alexa wearing a simple sleek black dress with matching black heels.
Everyone hugged, excited to see one another as they eventually took their seats, the boys pulling the girls chairs out for them.

"God, I haven't been here in a long ass time."
Chris said as he briefly looked around the restaurant.
Sebastian nodded as well, he couldn't remember the last time he'd been here.
Their server arrived and took their orders, and brought over the wine that Sebastian and Rylee had ordered before Chris and Alexa had arrived.
They all thanked her before she left and Chris ended the silence first, "So. Mastro's. What's the occasion?" He asked as he took a sip from his glass.
Sebastian and Rylee looked at one another, smiles crawling across their faces, before Sebastian gestured for Rylee to speak.
Rylee took a breath, nervous for a moment before she spoke. What if they thought this was ridiculous? What if- stop. Just say it.
"So. First off. Prefacing this with the fact that you need to remain calm...because we're keeping it quiet."
As she spoke she could see the gears turning in both Chris and Alexa's heads, trying to figure out what the news was.
"But we were talking this morning...and we decided we're going to get married this week."
"Oh my God, what!?" Alexa practically squealed out, one hand covering her mouth the other gripping the side of her chair, trying to remain calm like Rylee asked.
Chris' smile widened ear to ear as he set his glass down, "Oh my god, wow! I wasn't expecting that!"
Alexa took Rylee's hand in hers across the table as the boys did some silly bro handshake, and squeezed it whispering just so Rylee could hear, "Are you pregnant?"
Rylee laughed, "No, no I'm not," she shook her head and squeezed back.
She was about to explain to her more, but Chris asked both Rylee and Sebastian, "Any specific reason why? I thought you guys were planning for fall?"
"We were talking about it this morning and we just really don't want to wait. We're going to do a big get together in the fall, but we're just doing a small thing this week. Just for us. We aren't going to tell anyone about it honestly.
"But, we want you two there, obviously because you're our best friends and you're obviously the best man and maid of honor but we'd be honored to have you be our witnesses on our marriage license."

Rylee chimed in as well, putting her hand on Sebastian's. She could tell he was nervous for some reason, as he started to ramble a little, "I think the easiest way to explain it is just that...we've had so much taken away from us, you know? Privacy wise. The start of us dating. Us getting engaged. Everything in between. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone eventually, but we want something. Just for us. Even just for a little while.
Chris nodded, hanging on every word from both of them, "That's an amazing idea and I'm 100% here for it in any way I can be."
Alexa nodded heftily as well, "oh my god, yes yes yes!" It was obvious it was taking all of her energy not to just scream.
"So. Where? When?" Alexa started asking.
"That. Is on Seb." Rylee smiled and looked over at him, "I put it in his hands. We're going to plan the big reception together, but, this, this is all him."
"Yeah so Chris. I need your help." Sebastian laughed heartily.
"While the boys plan we can find you something to wear!" Alexa squealed.
Rylees face lit up, somehow even more than it already was, as she nodded enthusiastically.
The server arrived with their food and they all fell into a hush as it was dispersed. She asked if they needed anything else and then quickly went on her way when they all said no.
Chris held up his glass, starting a toast, "to Ry Bread and Seb."
Everyone raised their glasses together and took a drink.
——————————
At one point during dinner, Rylee excused herself to the bathroom, and of course, Alexa stood to join her.
The girls strode to the bathroom together and as soon as the door shut and they saw no one else was in there, they both looked at each other and squealed.
"Oh my god Rylee. You're going to get married. Like. Obviously because you're engaged but still. Ah!"
"I know. Oh my god. And Sebastian was just so confident when he said he wanted to plan it. I just told him I trust him."
"I don't know if I would trust Chris to plan a secret week-of wedding. He'd probably do it like...in a back alley somewhere."
Both girls laughed out loud, probably too loud for a restaurant bathroom but they didn't care.
"But seriously though, you're not pregnant?" Alexa raised an eyebrow at Rylee, putting her hands on either of Rylee's arms.
Rylee did the same in return, when she said, "No Alexa Quinn Davis. I am not with child."
"Okay. Cause I mean, sometimes that's why people get married. I dunno. I'm so unbelievably excited. Ah!"
———
As soon as the girls were out of view, on their way to the bathroom, Chris leaned over and put his hand on Sebastian's shoulder, "Dude. You're getting married!" He shook his shoulder slightly in excitement.
"God I know, I can't wait."
"So..is Rylee pregnant? Or?"
"No, she's not." Sebastian shook his head with a slight laugh, "we just wanna actually be married."
"Just checking. So whats your plan that you're so confident in that made you want to do this planning by yourself?
Sebastian leaned in and practically whispered, "Did you know Atwell is ordained?"
"No fucking way. How do you know?"
"She showed me pictures a few months ago from when she officiated a friends wedding in Upstate New York...and she happens to be in the city this week. And my filming schedule got put on hold for a week. And Rylee's therapist brought up wedding stuff to her. How is that not fate?"
"Sure sounds like it to me. So what's the plan then?"
"Well, I've got to fully ask Hayley. She sort of knows about the thought, but I didn't set anything in stone yet."
"Rylee will love having her officiate. Such a good idea, dude."
"I've got a location in mind too, I'm thinking over a- shit they're coming back." Sebastian stood up from his chair, Chris following suit, to pull the girls' chairs back out for them.
As everyone sat back down and got comfortable, conversation began to flow again, as easily as ever between the friends at dinner, enjoying each other's company, radiating excitement for the wedding to come.

A/N - before anyone asks, Hayley Atwell is NOT actually ordained IRL 😂
I even googled celebrities in general who might be ordained, and surprisingly enough Benedict Cumberbatch is!
The more you know!
Anyway, thanks again for reading yall!
This story is such a blast to write!
