《the sincerity taehyung couldn't deliver.||COMPLETED》don't forget about me

"Why do you have to do this to me?! Every time I try to learn how to live without you, you come back to my life and turn it upside down with false hope that you may still love me like you used to. Every fucking time, Jeongguk! You are with me and then you leave to go to her. I am so fucking tired, okay?!" Taehyung tries his hardest not to cry as he screams at the boy.
"Can you even imagine how many times I've had the same dream about your wedding? How many times I woke up in a cold sweat after seeing you marrying someone else?! Do you know how many times it broke my heart all over again to see you looking at her the way you used to look at me?!"
His breathing grows harder to manage and Jeongguk just stands there as the rain rolls down his face along with tears.
"Have you ever thought how much I wanted to call you just to hear your voice? I did all of this for you for god's sake," the older finally cries out, hand aggressively wiping away the tears that don't seem to stop.
"I know it wasn't right. I know I shouldn't have made that decision for us but I thought we would be okay again once it all settles. All of this, all this time...I tried so fucking hard but it was never enough to forget you and it won't ever be. I know it won't," he lets out a broken sob.
"You meant everything to me and look at us now, Jeongguk. You know for a fucking fact we weren't supposed to end this way," Taehyung sobs for what seems like hundredth time in the last two minutes. His tears keep rolling down his face as they mix with the warm rain.

"Look at you. You are not even going to say anything," he shakes his head as he stares at Jeongguk who hasn't moved an inch since he ran outside after him.
"Remember that time you told me someday you want to be loved by someone who'd die for you?" his angelic voice finally sounds, coming out much weaker than Taehyung expected.
"What does it matter now?" he shakes his head with a pathetic sob.
"Well, Kim Taehyung. I wouldn't just die for you..." his warm brown eyes stare deeply into Taehyung's as he takes a step closer.
"I would live for you.
I know I have made so many mistakes because I tried so hard to forget you. You can't even imagine how much I wanted to hold you and never let go when you told me you never cheated. I just thought time would do us good but in fact, time breaks more hearts than love does.
But damn it I will say it anyways, because no matter how many times you break my heart, Taehyung...I will gladly let it be broken by you all over again, as long as it's the two of us together at the end."
"I don't want to get my heart broken again, Jeongguk. Not after you," his sad eyes look into Jeongguk's again, showing all the emotion that used to be hidden behind.
"You used to be everything to me. But you no longer are."
With the words being said, Jeongguk's hands fall to his sides and shoulders hang down.
"Live a happy life, Gguk."
He watches him walk away.
"You won't forget about me," Jeongguk screams after him, knowing there's nothing left to say to make him stop from leaving. Not after all this time.
"You are right. I won't. You'll always be my first love. But not the last. Goodbye," he shows him a fake smile and with that he leaves. And Jeongguk's heart leaves with him that night.

Taehyung pulls the strands of Jungho's hair behind his ear before standing from the bed. As he gets down to the kitchen, he sees Daeun's still awake.
"What's up, big boyfriend?" she teases sleepy Taehyung.
"Haha, I am not a boyfriend," he laughs sarcastically and fills himself a cup of water.
The two of them walk outside to the terrace, sitting down at the wooden chairs to watch the stars like they always do.
"You never told me why'd you get that tattoo."
"Don't remember you asking," she stares at her cup as she sips from it, ignoring Taehyung's focused eyes on her wrist.
"What does it say?"
"It's 'the moon to my stars' in Chinese."
"Why'd you get that?"
"It's a thing I used to tell, tell one specific person."
"Who is that person?"
"He was my best friend, and my first love," Daeun lets her fingertips trace the letters tattooed deep under her skin.
"Was?" he asks, not being able to hold back the curiosity.
"He died in a car accident two years ago. The last thing he told me was that I am the stars to his moon."
The boy shakes his head in confusion.
"What does that mean?"
"We see the moon every night. It lights up the night but it's lonely without the stars. When the stars and the moon come together, the sky is complete."
"...You were the stars to his moon," he says as the realisation hits.
"Yes, Taehyung. We were like the night sky. The moon isn't complete without the stars. They may not always be together, but if they are, they shine brighter together."
"That's why you tried so hard to get me and Jeongguk back together..."
She wanted them to have something she couldn't have.
"Yes. Because the stars and the moon are always brighter together."
Taehyung's mind is slowly filling with the image of the doe starry eyes and the sound of the voice which used to tell him how his eyes reflect the bright light of the stars.
Taehyung was his moon. The stars he saw in his eyes was Jeongguk's light he just reflected. Jeongguk was all of Taehyung's stars.
"I read the news. Jiae had married some actor almost two years ago. They are gonna have a baby," Daeun speaks after a moment of silence, messing with Taehyung's head even more.
"I don't know if it should matter anymore," Taehyung sighs, fingers playing on his lap.
"Of course it should. I talked to him today."
"You did?" he jumps slightly.
"I did. Did you know he's been looking for you for a year?"
"What do you mean?" the boy shutters.
"He's been travelling the world. The same places you were supposed to be at just to see you."
"You mean even here in Paris?"
"No, not here. That was really just a coincidence. A beautiful one," she smiles sincerely.
How she smiles so beautifully even after the loss she's been through...Taehyung doesn't understand.
"I don't think there's a point at running away when you always seem to run back to each other again after some time."
"Did he say anything else?"
"Yes."
Taehyung looks at her with tired eyes.
"That the stars don't shine as bright as they used to."
_______
But what is my sky if it's missing a moon as bright as you.
