After Monday I made the decision to have either Josh, Carter, Jackson or Kalum walk me to each class.
Jackson, is actually a really great guy. Sienna is now calling him a tall stack of hot cakes.
A video of Carters last tournament got leaked around school, and now no one dares to step close to me when he's around.
Josh went ballistic 4 times Tuesday but after Dyson Ball attempted to run his finger against my waist and Josh slammed him on the floor, no one has came near me with Josh.
But Kalum on the other hand. No one has even attempted to talk to me when he walks me to class. He's taken me to lunch every day, and he picked me up from dance again last night because my car is bigger than Sienna's and Connor asked me to use my car again. Even though lunch is only an hour, I'm so grateful he has been getting me out for it.
He really has been my savior this week. It feels like our friendship is going back to the way it used to be.
Between Abby, Sie, Havannah and Tory, most girls are scared shitless.
Connor, Ben, and Mason on the other hand, have decided to assign themselves to 3 specific boys. Connor, is on Trevor Marks for grabbing my ass. Mason, is on Porter because he just can't stand him, and Ben, he cheerfully took the job of making Tyler DiMarco's life a living hell because he's still pissed about the night of Inebriated Olivia.
Ryan gets to come back to school Monday.
Oaken and Cody have every single kid in the freshman and sophomore classes terrified to come near me. Something about body checking them in to a locker if either of them saw it.
But today, is Thursday. Dad and Hank got home last night. It's Thanksgiving. I'm finally back in to my dance flow and not crying every time someone says Mason's name, I just put Kalum's sweet potatoes in the oven, and I am currently down in my studio while Mom and Trish are cooking their asses off. Connor and Oaken are probably still sleeping. Jake and Kelsey will be here soon, so will Kalum's family.
Both of Mason's moms parents died which are Kalum's dads parents, and Kalum's mom's parents don't live around here, so they've spent Thanksgiving with us every other year for the past 6 years.
This year is one of those years.
Abby, Josh, Will, Sienna, Tory and Havannah have been sending me songs to choose from for my student choreo.
Abby is still a tid bit mad at Mason. Because the song she sent me is called Selfish by Anth. And that goes.
make up running down your cheek
don't know why you let me do this to you
to blind when you're in to deep
anyone can see that I don't deserve you
and I know I should let you leave
but I don't wanna see nobody with you.
I should let you go
but I'm way to selfish.
OK, so she's still really mad.
Josh on the other hand, he's more pissed with how Mason acted as if I'm in the wrong for wanting to tell Connor. His song, Villain by Lily Rose. The lyrics?
you can be the hero, I can take the fall
if thats how your story goes, say it's all my fault
whatever helps you sleep at night
yeah you can make me the bad guy
make em all believe it
if that's how you're feeling
I can be the villain.

Will, he chose Fuck Boy by Dixie D'amelio. He thinks he's funny.
Sienna also thinks she's funny, because she chose Dear Denny by Leah Kate.
Havannah had a good one. Hers was For Granted by Lauren Spencer Smith.
I have learned that Tory really fucking loves me. Because she chose a strong bitch song because she says I am in fact a strong bitch. She also almost smacked Mason directly in his face yesterday for yelling at me to stop talking to Jackson. But, she chose I am The Fire by Ghost Monroe.
I laid in the middle of my mat for an hour and a half until the basement door opened.
I sat up as Kalum came walking down the stairs.
"Did you or did you not tell me to text you when we were on our way?" He laughed.
"Shit, I did. My phones plugged in." I sighed.
"It's cool." He shook his head and sat down with me. "What're you doing?"
"Trying to pick a song for my student choreo." I nodded.
"I mean, I personally liked Sienna's choice." He nodded.
"Shut up." I shook my head.
"Well, maybe I can help." He smiled.
"I actually have to go get dressed. Come up and man the door for he who shall not be named?"
"Oh, so I'm on Mason patrol?"
I nodded.
He laughed and stood up. "You're going to have to start paying me." He held his hand out.
"But, your first payment is in the oven." I pouted.
"You made me sweet potatoes." He smiled.
I nodded and grabbed his hand. He pulled me up, I grabbed my phone from my speaker, and we headed up to the kitchen.
"Olivia!" Laylynn yelled when I walked in.
"Lay!" I yelled and hugged her. "Are you ready for Monday?"
"Uh yes! I'm excited."
"Well do you want to hear a secret?" I pursed my lips.
She nodded.
"Your very first dance, is with me." I smiled.
She gasped. "Really!"
I nodded. "And I am very excited to dance with you." I walked over to Kalum's mom and Dad. "Hi Dawn." I hugged her. "HI Derek." I hugged him.
"Hi honey." Dawn smiled.
"How are you?" Derek crossed his arms.
"Oh you know." I nodded. "Living the life of a teenage girl."
"That bad, huh?" He pursed his lips.
I nodded. "Uh, I am going to go get ready. He's going to come stand by my door to make sure Satan doesn't come barging in again." I pointed at Kalum.
"Satan isn't over here yet." Trish shook her head. "Really, Satan?"
"He called me the ruler of all evil the other day because I got a piggy back ride from Jackson." I nodded.
She sighed. "You two are going to kill me." She shook her head.
"Go Olivia. And lets not call him Satan when he and Hank get over here." My mom nodded.
"I make no promises." I shrugged and pulled Kalum out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
"Where are you going?" Connor wiped his eyes when he walked out of his room.
"Her room, she's gonna blow me really quick just to piss you off." Kalum nodded.
"OK, do you not remember Monday?" Connor crossed his arms.
"I can take another big guy." Kalum patted his chest when I pulled him in my room.
"You're going to give him a stomach ulser." I shook my head.

"He's gotta get over it sometime." He shrugged and plopped down on my bed. "Phone so I can look for songs." He held his hand out. "Go get dressed."
I rolled my eyes and walked in to my closet.
"What about Give Me a Reason by Jillian Rossi!" He yelled.
I opened my door and peeked my head out. "Really?"
He pursed his lips. "No." He shook his head.
I nodded and closed my closet door.
"Do you want it to like, mean something, help you get it all out?" He yelled.
"Sort of, but I don't want to cry."
"Ol, you're going to cry regardless. Have you seen yourself this week."
I opened my door and glared.
"Shutting up." He nodded.
"Thank you." I closed my door.
"What's the solo Jane choreographed?"
"Honey and Glass by Peyton Cardoza!" I yelled.
"Olivia Rodrigo?" He yelled.
"Kalum, you sound like a girl." I shook my head.
I came out of my closet in a pair of ripped jeans, a black tee, and a burnt orange cardigan.
"OK, so, what about this one?" He tossed me my phone.
I pursed my lips and nodded. "You're good at this."
"Like I said, you should just start paying me." He nodded.
"And what would you like your payment to be Mr. Jennings?" I flopped down on my bed.
"Actually, I figured my payment should benefit the both of us." He shrugged.
"And how would that be?"
"Well, it gets us both out of town for the night." He smiled.
I gave him a look as he reached in to his pocket.
"The other one of these was originally for Carter. But homie got grounded because his parents found out what happened with Trevor Monday. So I was thinking, you and I could go to State College Saturday night since I had already booked a hotel, and we could put these to use." He handed me two tickets.
My eyes got wide and my jaw dropped. "How in the hell did you get Skillet tickets!"
"Carter and I looked for those things for months, we found them close, we rented a room as soon as we bought them. Two beds, don't get excited. Then he got grounded and said to give his to whoever wanted them. I asked him about you, and he said to get you out of your house for a day. So, Miss Pate, would you like to go see one of the greatest bands Saturday? I'll pick you up in the morning, spend the day shopping and eating, go to the concert, and then pass out while watching crappy teen movies?"
I sighed. "And you really think my dad would go for this?"
"He did. I asked him when I got here. He said if you said yes it would be good for you to get away. I believe he called everything going on a fucktastrophy."
I pursed my lips and nodded. "Indeed it is."
"Come on Ol. Get away from him for a night. Not worrying whether you have to walk down the stairs and see him and Connor staring at you. They wont drag you to Nico's party when we all know you don't want to go. We'll listen to good music and pray the play Those Nights."
I sighed and smiled. "You really are good at saving my ass."
"Eh, I'm just happy you're hanging out with me. Sleep with someone once and it gets awkward."
"You did take my virginity. What did you expect after you whipped me across a room."
"I didn't know!" He yelled.
Second period is hard enough. But how the fuck am I supposed to get through today without talking to Olivia.
Not talking to her is literally killing me slowly.
Every time Connor isn't around, all I can do is stare at her.
I blew a fuse the other day over a piggy back ride. And now, she's calling me Satan.
And I'm getting pissed with Kalum coming to her rescue and them spending so much time together.
I know I told Connor that Olivia and I are done, but I can't be.
I just hope it's not too late for it.
Maybe this time if I talk to Connor about it before hand, he'll understand.
I threw on my jeans and sweater that my mom is making me wear today, and I headed over to the Pates.
"Masey!" Laylynn screamed and jumped on my as soon as I walked in the back door.
"Hey chipmunk." I smiled and picked her up.
"I get to start dance on Monday and Miss Jane gave me a dance with Olivia!" She wrapped her arms around my neck.
"That's great. I bet Olivia is excited. Right mom?" I looked at my mom.
"She is." My mom nodded.
"Hi Aunt Dawn." I walked over and hugged her.
"Hi Satan." She laughed.
My face went flat and I looked at Mom and Holly.
"The ruler of all evil." Mom mom gave me a look.
"Over a piggy back ride." Holly crossed her arms.
"Does everyone know what happened now?" I set Laylynn down.
"Well honey, I work at the school." My aunt Dawn nodded.
I sighed. "Where's uncle Derek?"
"In the living room with Hank and Jason." She smiled.
"Jake should be here soon, can you send Kelsey in?" Holly smiled.
"Sure." I nodded and walked out of the kitchen.
Dad, Jason and Uncle Derek were already nose deep in the football game that was on, Connor was propped in the chair, legs hanging over the arms, and Oaken was upside down on the love seat.
"Uncle Derek." I held my hand out.
"Satan." He laughed and shook my hand.
"Jesus Christ." I shook my head, plopped down next to Oaken, and smacked him in the forehead. "Wake up."
"I will beat the shit out of you." He groaned.
"I'll step on you." I nodded. "Where's numb nuts?"
"Upstairs with Olivia." Connor looked at me and crossed his arms.
I swear to god he was staring directly in to my soul.
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Spending a lot of time together this week."
"No big deal, right?" Connor raised his eyebrows.
"Connor don't start this today." Jason looked at him. "It's Thanksgiving. Lets be in a giving mood."
"Maybe Kalum is in a giving mood right now." Oaken smirked up at me.
"OK." Uncle Derek shook his head. "Oaken I will whoop your little ass."
"Derek, you're like 54, you really think you can." Oaken laughed.
"Boy I am 44. I'm 2 years younger than your dad."
"He's old as shit too." He shrugged.
"I'm about to let Laylynn handle my light work." Jason nodded.
"I can still pop lock and drop it like a pro thank you very much." We heard coming down the stairs.
"If you even tried to pop lock and drop it there would be an earth quake." Olivia shook her head.
"Not my fault my ass is fat." Kalum laughed.
Olivia stared right at me when they walked down.
Connor cleared his throat.
She jumped. "I'm gonna go help in the kitchen." She sighed and walked out.
Kalum plopped down on the other couch.
"Dude how come you never take me to the Tasty?" Connor looked at him.
"Because you're the reason I'm taking her to the Tasty." He nodded.
"Wow, hold no punches." Connor shook his head.
"You didn't." He pointed at his jaw.
"So you really went around the school punching people?" Jake walked in.
"Moms want you in the kitchen miss Kelsey." I nodded.
"Don't talk to me." She shook her head and walked in the kitchen.
"Yes, I did in face go around punching people. But he actually came to me. You seen the other 2?" Connor crossed his arms.
"No." He shook his head and plopped next to Kalum. "How you doing kid?"
"Good, I'm about to eat marshmallow covered sweet potatoes and I get to go see my favorite band Saturday. Almost makes up for the fist across my face." He laughed.
"Did you get them all yet?" Jake looked at Connor.
"Yes, and I'm going to continue getting Trevor Marks for grabbing her ass Monday." He nodded.
"Olivia Annabel Pate." Jason stood up and walked in to the kitchen.
"Whoops." He shrugged.
I have got to talk to Olivia at some point.
I've got to find a way to.
So I pulled my phone out.
Can we talk?
I waited a few minutes but she did text back.
Against the rules.
Fuck me.
So meet me in the alley after dinner. I really need to talk to you.
Mason, I can finally breathe every time I see you. I'm not doing this.
Ol the other night you were literally begging me. I just really need to talk to you. After dinner when everyone leaves, please just meet me.
I can't. I'm going to Tory's.
I rolled my eyes.
Just fucking meet me.
Don't talk to me like that. You're not my boyfriend and you're sure as shit not my dad. Connor know you're messaging me?
He doesn't need to right now.
And I got nothing.
Ol.
Nothing.
OLIVIA!
My phone did go off. But it wasn't Olivia.
Stop texting her before I smack you in the balls. Your phone is vibrating my head.
I glared down at him.
Today, was full of football and food.
It's now 7 at night, we're all in the living room. Dad and Jason are half asleep.
Laylynn is passed out on my lap.
Olivia is up stairs packing her bag for Tory's.
Uncle Derek finally stood up. "We better get this one home before she doesn't want to leave."
"Can I just keep her?" I looked up at him.
He laughed. "No. I kind of like her. Come on Kal, get up." He smacked Kalums leg and woke him up.
Kalum groaned and rolled off the couch.
They got all their stuff around and Olivia came walking down stairs.
"I'll be back tomorrow after noon." She kissed Holly and Jason's cheeks. "If I'm taking you to Ambers lets go." She shook Oaken's shoulder.
"Fine." He groaned.
"And you Miss Pate, bright and early Saturday morning." Kalum pointed at her.
"So she said she'd go." Jason smiled.
He nodded.
"Go where?" Connor gave her a look.
"I have Skillet tickets. Carter was supposed to go, but his parents found out he helped Ryan corner Trevor Monday so he's grounded. So we're going to State College for the night." Kalum nodded.
"You lucky bitch." Jake looked at her. "I wanted to go to that but they were sold out." He shook his head.
"I got lucky." She smiled.
I feel like all the breath got taken out of me.
She's going out of town with him this weekend.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She grabbed Oaken and they left.
"And I'll see you guys Monday." Kalum waved as his family left.
I couldn't breathe.
She's really going out of town with him.
"What do you say man, COD for a bit?" Connor looked at me.
I took a deep breath. "Yeah." I choked out. "Just." I was struggling. "Give me a minute." I cleared my throat and jumped off the couch.
"Mason!" My mom yelled as I ran through the kitchen.
"Mason." I heard her follow me to the back yard.
I got through the fence and bent over.
I really couldn't fucking breathe.
"Mason breathe." My mom started rubbing my back.
"Mom." I choked out. "Mom I can't-" I started hyperventilating.
"Honey it's OK. You just have to breathe through it.
I dropped down to the ground still gasping for air.
"Honey look at me." She grabbed my face. "In through your nose." She rubbed my head.
"Mom!" I cried. "Help me." I choked out.
"I'm trying baby, you've gotta breathe." She nodded.
It took me about five minutes for my heart to stop pounding out of my chest and to actually be able to breathe normally.
"You OK?" She brushed my hair away from my face.
"Mom what did I do." I shook my head.
She pursed her lips and just hugged me.
Seriously, what the fuck did I do!
