"ISABELLE WHERE IS MY WATER!" I heard Riley's voice yell from the other side of the door making me blink, I could hear glass breaking and Isabelle cursing and I debated on whether I should ring the bell or not.

"Oh thank god you're here" the doors flew open making my decision for me with Arabella's voice and I blinked

"Uh,hi?" I greeted unsure and she pulled me inside closing the door behind her

"I SWEAR TO GOD RILEY IF YOU FUCKING YELL ONE MORE TIME IM GOING TO CASTRATE YOU!" Isabelle yelled storming out of the kitchen with a bottle of water in her hand before practically stomping up the stairs

"Uh what's going on?" I asked looking at Bella who sighed

"Ever since Riley got out for the hospital yesterday, he's been a real pain in the ass," she said leading me towards the kitchen motioning to take a seat on the island.

The Cordelli house is beyond anything I've ever seen. The front alone of something I only ever saw in movies but the inside was out of this world. The front lobby, yes a freaking lobby, was all marvel with two staircases that split in the middle where the hall was which led to the kitchen and living room. The kitchen was all white with stainless steal appliances. The island was made of crystal and white marble.

"So what brings you to our h-" Bella began when the sound of a bell ringing from upstairs cut her off and she groaned

"BELLA I NEED MY PILLS!" Riley's voice yelled from somewhere on the second floor

"For fuck sakes" Bella mumbled rubbing her forehead

"If you want, I can take them. I have to go up there anyway to drop of the PreCalc homework." I said and she looked at me with a grateful look

"Are you sure? I don't what you to feel obligated." She said but I waved her off

"Why don't you and Isa got out for a little bit while I stay here with Riley? I'll get him whatever he needs just point me to the different places that I'll be going to." I said and she looked conflicted before nodding and showing me every inch of the kitchen. What foods he likes and dislikes to what drinks he enjoys and everything in between

"BELLA!" Riley yelled and Bella mumbled something under her breath before walking over to the side wall and grabbing a phone before talking into

"giuro se urlerai ancora una volta che ti soffoccherai, mi senti?" She said and I raised a brow confused as to what she was saying. She said something else in the same language before shaking her head, and rolling her eyes with a smile before hanging up. (I swear if you yell one more time I'm going to choke you, you hear me?)

"What language were you just speaking, if you don't mind me asking" I questioned and she grinned

"Italian" she replied and I nodded,"Do you speak another language?"

"Uh, yeah. I speak Spanish and Irish" I answered and I watched as her eye brows went up to her hairline

"Damn." She whistled making me chuckle

"I guess it's something you need to learn if you want to be able to communicate with both family on both sides" I said with a shrug

"What do you mean?" She asked as we walked back to the foyer before climbing the stairs and goof down a narrow hall the led to the bedrooms, at least I think they do.

"My dad's side of the family are Irish while my mom's side of the family are Hispanic." I said and she made an 'O' shape with her mouth before stopping in front of a door and knocking on it gently

"Who is it?" Riley's voice called making the girl roll her eyes

"Who do you think you fucker?" Bella asked

"Brad Pitt?" I rolled my eyes at his teasing voice and Bella sighed

"Idiot" she mumbles before opening the door and walking in

"I didn't give you permission to enter" Riley said with his brow raised

"And do I give a crap? No, I don't. Besides you have a visitor" she said moving aside to let me into the room and Riley's face lit up when he glanced at me. Bella rolled her eyes, said something to him in Italian, he nodded his head and then she was gone leaving us alone.

"So how is bedrest treating ya?" I asked taking a sit beside him and he shrugged

"Been out of the hospital for 2r hours and I'm already losing my mind."

"Well if it makes you feel any better, you're not missing much" I tried to assure him and he rolled his eyes with a chuckle

"Much of what?" He asked raising his brow as he downed the pills I handed him

"Much of anything really aside from the junior class having a fundraiser for the local soup kitchen" I replied and he hummed

"It's a good thing that I got shot huh?" He asked and I looked away biting my bottom lip making him curse,"Fuck, Alex I didn't mean it like that"

"I know, just wish people would just stop reminding me of that every goddam second" I murmured and he sat up straighter and made me look at him

"What do you mean? What have people been saying?" He demanded and I sighed shaking my head

"Just that it was my fault and that I should've been shot instead" i murmured and his features darkened

"Who said that?" He asked stroking my cheeks as tears began to well up in them and I sniffled

"Just everyone. The football team, aside from Cory and a couple others. The cheerleaders,all who by the way have crushes on you. I can't go anywhere without people cornering me or things thrown at me" I whimpered and he clenched his jaw, a tic forming under his skin with how hard he was clenching his jaw

"You listen to me Alex, none of what those fuckers are saying is true do you understand? Let them fucking think whatever they want but we both know that it's not true. It was never your fault. I got shot saving your life because I would give it up every day of my life just to make sure that you're save. So fuck them. Fuck them and their fucking idiotic comments because they don't know shit" he said cupping my face between his hands with our eyes locked,"Do you hear me? Ignore them and if they know better they'll leave you alone because egos only knows that I'll find the assholes and beat them myself for ever making you feel like this."

"I don't want you getting hurt again," I mumbled and he scoffed

"The only people getting hurt are he bastards taking shit"

"It feels so goddam good to be back in school" Riley said a she threw his arm over my shoulder as we walked inside the crowded building with his friends.

"It's good to see you you're doing much better, Riley" Casey said making Riley blink in confusion and he looked down at me and I was just as confused as him

"Uh, thanks?" Riley murmured and Casey rolled his eyes

"Look, I wanted to apologize for the way my brothers and I have been acting towards you. We were quick to judge you and that's something our oldest brothers Ryder and Brian as well as our parents have taught us not to do. And I know this sounds fucked up, but knowing you took a bullet for Alex was what made us see the wrong we were doing. You truly give a fuck about him and we should have listened to him before jumping to conclusions, and were sorry" Andrew said instead and Riley still looked confused

"So let me get this right, you hated my guys for the Teen half of the school year and all it took for you to see that I wasn't like Mitch and his buddies, was get shot?" Riley asked and my brothers liked uncertain on how to answer the question and I didn't blame Riley for being defensive. He's been trying to prove my brothers that wasn't like Mitch and the others but Casey, Andrew and Matt never budged. Always cussing him out and telling him or me to stay away from each other.

"Like Andrew said, it's fucked up that it was you getting shot that made us see that you're not like Mitch and the others" Matt said making Riley scoff

"I don't want your apology because you didn't do shit to me. The only person you should apologize to is Alex because he's the one who was stuck in between. He was the one who got to hear you talk smack about me behind my back. He's the one who begged you to listen to give me a chance. He was the one that saw what you three didn't see in me. So no, I don't want your apology because it means shit to me. And it's fucked up that it took me getting shot and potentially dying for you to see that I cared about Alex." Riley said, his voice thick with anger and I didn't blame him and I also understood him. He never let my brothers' actions and words get to him, he always made sure I didn't have a falling out with them but in the end it happened.

"Dude if you expect us to beg for your forgiveness then you're highly mistaken" Casey said and Riley chuckled, but it was a humorous chuckle like one a person who was fed up with something would do

"Like I said, I don't want your fucking apology" Riley said before looking down at me,"I'll meet you in class, okay?"

I nodded and with a peck on the lips, he walked away with his friends trailing behind him. I watched him walk away and waited until he was out of sight to look at my brothers who had glares in their faces making roll my eyes

"And you're back to being your old selves. A bunch of dicks. Just because he didn't accept your apology doesn't mean he didn't appreciate it. And to be frank I don't blame him. You greeted like trash and then you expect him to forgive you just because you came to a realization that he actually gave a shit about me when he was lying in a hospital bed with a breathing tube down his throat and a hooked to various machines keeping his alive until he could breath on his own," I said glaring at the three of them and they clenched their jaws and fists balled at their sides

"I've long accepted your apology, and despite how much I hate you I love you as well because you're you're my brothers and I don't want to lose you just because you and Riley don't get along. If you want him to see that you've changed, then act like it"

I just hope that they actually try to prove Riley that they're sorry and actually give him a chance because I don't want to be in the middle of them. I don't want to have to chose between my brothers and Riley. Because no matter what, my brothers, and family in general,came before anything and anyone else and if it came to the point where I and to chose, I'd give Riley up just to make my brothers happy even if it meant falling apart.

"Everything is going to be okay, Alex. Your brothers love you and they'll do whatever it takes to make you happy and I know they'll work to form a bond with Riley," Jared said and I blinked not realizing he had followed after me

"I hope you're right ,Jar,because the last thing I want to do is lose the one person who's ever gave a fuck about me."
