Annabelle's POV:

I had basically grown up in this park. The wooden playset moulded in the middle had given me more splinters then I could remember, the metallic creaking swings that I currently found myself swinging on had thrown me off more times than I care to admit and this park had provided me with more memories than a child has anywhere else in the world. My brother, Carter and I had always hang out here when we were little and it was where our friendship really began. It brought tears to my eyes because it seemed like such simpler times. Where had it gone wrong? Right. Carter and I. I laid my head against the wooden pole beside the swings and I tried to compose myself as I was not willing to cry again in the same evening.

"Spin me Danny" I remembered my younger self screaming at my brother whilst I sat on the merry-go-round in my white lacey socks that I can promise did not stay white and lacey for long.

Danny got up with a little huff and walked over to me with an evil glint in his eyes. "Of course I'll spin you Annie" he said as a smirk grew on his 7 year old face. I swung my legs on the seat as Danny approached and began to spin the metallic death trap. At first it had been fun, I was laughing and giggling louder than any other kid in that park - then I wasn't. I began to feel the ride go faster and faster until the world around was becoming a blur and my lunch was resurfacing. I gripped onto the bars with my chipped blue nail polish covered fingers as I tried to stand up. "Danny please stop!" I screamed, my legs losing balance each time I tried to take a step forward. "Okay" Danny replied halting the metallic machine not instantly but fast enough and abruptly enough to send me flying off of it and into another kid. I looked up with tears in my eyes at the green orbs that looked back at me. "Are you ok?" he asked me brushing off his dinosaur top that I thought was kind of cool. I nodded my head and slapped Danny on the arm as soon as he reached me from rushing over.

"Annie I'm so sorry!" he squealed, "I didn't know you were going to fly off... please don't tell Dad". His eyes pleaded with me but I stood up, pulling up one of my socks that was now filthy and ripped. I strutted off in a stop as I went to inform my father immediately but that was when we first met Carter. After that Danny and him became inseparable and I guess we did too.

The slow creaks the swings were emitting were fitting for the current mix of emotions I was feeling but of all of them my strongest feeling was the sense of home. More specifically, going home. Today had been a long day and I really did not feel as if I could spend any more time back at the Reins'. There would be questions. Questions I had to answer. Questions for which I had no answer to. Or at least didn't want to. What had been said? Had I been ratted out? Had we been ratted out? With the look Matt had possessed on his face, it was more than likely. I put my head in my hands and let out a groan. Danny. What would he be thinking? Feeling? What if I had ruined our friendship? His and Carter's friendship? That wasn't the kind of responsibility I wanted, but it was where I had put myself. Well done Walters.

"Hey" he said.
