SURPRISE! SURPRISE!!!
•••
Poppy was helping me revise trigonometry. We were in a spare cabin/room that Venky let us use. It was transparent, so that Venky could see what's going inside. I actually liked this idea, poppy was a stranger afterall.
Poppy had a personality which was hard to figure out. Once he'll be too sweet and then he's all strick. And suddenly in other, he's talking about my life and praising about me.
"You understand this?" He asked putting a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded, "yes, this is fine. What's next?"
He pulled the laptop on his lap and scrolled down the notes. "Um... I think it is enough for today,"
I sighed, "okay, I'm tired anyways," I mumbled. It was our first tutoring and it lasted for 2½ hours.
"Let's rest a bit and then we can leave," he suggested.
"Um... Okay," I leaned back on my chair.
"So, I saw your boyfriend back on the cruise. How's he now?"
I internally rolled my eyes. I seriously didn't want to talk about Ashton. We haven't talked since we last met at the school where he pulled this dominant stunt on me in the jailour's closet.
"He's doing good,"
"You both are good?"
I raised an eyebrow at him. What's he trying to say?
"Ofcourse, we're dating,"
"Oh, okay. That's good," he chuckled awkwardly.
With this he stood up saying a goodbye to me. It was wierd, talking about my personal life that wasn't comfortable for me. But I brushed it off. He was my tution teacher afterall. But the weird thing was, with his nice tutoring skills, his personal questions started becoming weird suggestions. Like on our third day of tutoring, he started talking about Ashton like he's some piece of cake.
"People like Ashton aren't worth a beautiful girl like you,"
"Excuse me?" I frowned at him. All the two hours, He'll be a teacher figure and in the end, he'll come with some topic to talk which will always end up in my being uncomfortable.

"I don't mean to manipulate you. I'm just saying, you know. In a relationship, trust is the most important thing,"
My frown melted into a sad look "what do you mean?"
He shook his head smiling and put a hand on my right thigh which was apparently exposed as I was wearing just shorts. I didn't flinch away but yeah, it was an uneasy feeling.
"I'm just saying, you can have someone better," he stood up with that, picked up his wallet from the table and left.
I was in deep thoughts. He ment I shouldn't date Ashton, because I need someone who can trust on me more? That's messed up. I knew Ashton's decision was dumping me without saying a word was ungrateful, but it wasn't the end. We were still dating and I couldn't think of anyone else but Ashton.
When he left, I went towards Venky's cabin. I knocked once and opened the door but stayed outside maintaining my manners. Venky was talking to a lady and a man. Now their attention was on me.
"Um.. you both are dismissed. I need the files ready in a week," with that the two employees stood up and walked towards the door.
I gave them space to leave.
"Come in Aana, how was study?" Venky asked in a happy tone smiling at me.
I nodded, "it was good. Can you tell your driver to drop me at Ashton's today?"
He narrowed his eyes, "you have school tomorrow Aana, you sure about this?"
I nodded, "I believe I've some spare clothes at his home and my books are in the locker of the school so there shouldn't be any problem,"
He nodded, "call me when you reach there and make a call to Mum and dad too,"
I smiled nodding.
"So, how has your tutoring with poppy been?" He asked putting his fist under his chin.
I gulped. other than the weird conversations, he was fine. "He's fine. We've completed two chapters in three days,"

He nodded smiling.
Soon, I left as the driver came to pick me up. It was a Fifteen minutes drive and within that time, I called Mum and told her that I'll not be coming home today as I'll be staying at Ashton's. Mum said yes and dad too, it was overwhelming how my family trusted Ashton but I couldn't cope up with the fact that we were driving apart slowly.
And that was why I was going at Ashton's. To mend things up. Just like my dad promised that he'll mend things up with my brothers once he's fully recovered.
"Thank you," I thanked the driver and got out. He nodded and drove away.
I quickly called Venky and told him that I'd reached. I put my phone in my shorts' pocket and quickly walked towards the front door. It was so chilly, November cold was really kicking in. I shivered as a wave of cold air gushed through my body.
I ringed his bell once, then twice. Finally the door opened. The sight of Ashton standing infront of me made me smile involuntary. I missed him so much.
On the other hand, his eyes were slightly wide not expecting me at all. His hairs were messy and were down on his forehead, some strands covering his eyes too.
"Hi.." I whispered to him, smiling in pursed lips.
"Aana, what-what are you doing here?" He asked in frustrated voice.
"I came to meet you." I told him.
"Aana, go home. We're over,"
My eyes were wide. Why would he say that? My heart broke and I was frozen. "I-I Ash-" I only stuttered.
"Don't act surprised," he whispered. His eyes suddenly becoming sad.
"Ash, I don't understand. Tell me, talk to me," I grabbed his white t-shirt in both my fists. Looking up at him with watery eyes, I tried to make eye contact with him, but he just looked away, a lone tear rolled down his eye.
He grabbed my wrists and effortlessly pulled them away from his t-shirt."Go home," he whispered before closing the door on my face.
"What did I do?" I asked myself and collapsed on the floor, crying silently.
I heard Ashton's loud footsteps climbing upstairs. In other situations, I would have catched a bus and would have went home, but today was different. I wanted to talk to him but he just closed me off. I wasn't going to leave him like that. I just wasn't going to leave him like that!
I shifted on the wall Beside the door and pressed my back against it. I was wearing a thin nylon green t-shirt and jean shorts. I was so cold. My hands slowly started to feel numb and so did my legs.
I pulled the hair rubber off of my pony tail and let my hairs fall on my face, that way atleast my ears weren't feeling that worse. Putting the rubber around my wrist, I pulled my legs close to my chest and rubbed my legs trying to feel a little warmth.
My only hope you Ashton to come out and understand that I love him and I wouldn't break his heart no matter what.
With only one thought in mind which was Ashton, I fell asleep on the hard, cold tiled floor.
