《Adopted by My Chemical Romance》12

I was home alone, for the first time in ages. Gerard hugged me goodbye and the guys did as well. They told me my babysitter would be here in less than an hour. I've been in my room, staring at the clock and watching it tick. Five more minutes, or maybe less. My phone buzzed frantically and I picked it up. Kay was calling me. Shit, was she going to go off on me for not texting or calling her? Probably. I reluctantly answered. It was silent at first, but then she started talking.
"Hey .." she spoke. She sounded as if she was containing something. I couldn't tell if it was sadness, anger or happiness. I couldn't figure it out.
"Hey." I said, just so she knew I was listening.
"Um.." Kay trailed off. There were another few seconds of silence. I wanted to say I was sorry but I didn't know how to. She probably already knew I was sorry. I heard her laugh and got very confused.
"Kay?" I questioned. Before I could ask her what was up she started taking.
"OKAY I COULDN'T KEEP THIS FROM YOU GUESS WHAT?! " She screamed. My first instinct was that she had finally gotten adopted. So that's what I asked her.
"Kay! Did you get adopted?" I asked with joy. I heard another squeal. I took that as a yes.
"YES!! Can you guess by who?!" She screamed into the phone, I thought my eardrums were going to explode.
"I don't know, who?" I asked, trailing my fingers up and down my leg. She sounded like she was holding back tears, she was really excited about this.
"Tyler Joseph!" She screamed. I had to process it for a few seconds. I was in utter shock, my best friend was adopted by Tyler Joesph.

"NO!" I screamed, returning the favor of making my eardrums bleed.
"YES!" She answered back. I just couldn't believe it. She told me all about what happened, it was a dream come true for her.
I heard the doorbell ring and my heart stopped. It must be Brendon. I told Kay I was happy for her, said goodbye, and hung up. I exited my room and quickly made my way to the door. I opened it to see Brendon Boyd Urie.
"Hey kiddo!" He said jokingly. I laughed as he had a goofy smile plastered on his face.
"Hey Ads!" I heard another voice say from the trunk of Brendon's car. The voice sounded oddly familiar. But then it hit me. It was Ryan Ross
"I can't get the suitcases out of the trunk, can you help?" Brendon turned to me and sighed with a smile, walking down the porch stairs to go help his boyfriend. I stared wide eyes at the two trying to pull the suitcases out from the trunk. I couldn't believe that they were actually babysitting me. I tried to keep myself from passing out.
"Okay. One, two, three." Ryan said before they finally pulled the suitcases from the car. The laughed at each other before picking up their luggage and heading inside. Their suitcases were unnecessarily packed to the extreme.
They sat their luggage next to the couch and took a seat, being too lazy to take their luggage up to their room. I sat across from them on the single leather chair.
"Alrighty." Brendon said, pulling out a piece of paper from his pocket. I was confused as to what he was doing, but I continued to listen.
"These are the rules." He said, gesturing to the paper. I nodded. Brendon cleared his throat.

"No drinking or doing drugs." He started.
"Or doing boys." Ryan added. I snorted, as if.
"Or girls, if you're into that." Brendon added, smirking. I laughed and shook my head.
When they were finished I leaned back in my chair and sighed. "Ugh! You're depriving me of all my human rights!" I jokingly said. They laughed.
"Yes we're so evil." Brendon said, placing the paper on the coffee table. I suddenly felt tired so I told them I was going to take a nap. They nodded and I went upstairs. The thought of school tomorrow made me drowsy, and also wanting to throw up. But I just have to hope for the best.

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.
