The Halfling Makes a Move
Just do it.
Victoria stared down at her new phone, her thumb hovering over the call button. Her father's number glared up at her.
Man up, Victoria. Her stomach was twisting into knots. She badly wanted to call her father but she was so nervous. What would he say? Would he be upset? Sad? Angry?
She huddled on her bed, the blankets wrapped around her shoulders. It had started to snow again and there was a chill in the air. Jasper had left just minutes ago after hours of hard-core zombie killing. At first he'd been reluctant to play but her persistence prevailed. Within minutes the demon had been addicted, insisting they play level after level. Who would have thought that Jasper had an inner gamer just waiting to come out? He would probably still be playing if the sun hadn't set.
But the night belonged to Sebastian. She shuddered, desire already coiling in her stomach. When would he come to her? What did he have planned for tonight? She almost couldn't wait to find out. Falling asleep in his arms the night before had been bliss.
First she needed to call her father. She needed to know if he was alright. Yet she hesitated. She just didn't want to hear him upset. Or worse...Suck it up and do it! Dragging in a deep breath she started the call.
After the third ring her father answered, his gruff familiar voice grating over the phone. "Hello?"
"Dad?"
"Oh my god, Victoria!"
She breathed a sigh of relief, he sounded surprised but he didn't sound upset. "Hi Dad, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I've been so worried. Victoria, how could you do that? Without even telling me?"
She felt her eyes water. "I was so scared for you. I thought it was the only way."
"I could have handled it. Nothing is worth you selling yourself like that. What if you'd been taken by something...evil?"
She winced. "I was ready for that."
"Victoria!" Okay, now he was pissed. His reaction made her smile.
"I'm sorry. But it's okay. I'm with someone, a demon. He takes really good care of me. You should see all the nice things he's given me." Some of which she planned to mail to him. There was no way she could keep such expensive items while her father suffered in poverty.
"And he's treating you well? He hasn't...hurt you?"
She knew exactly what he meant and it made her blush. "No Dad. He...he's a good person."
"I just can't imagine what kind of person would buy a poor girl at an auction like that. Your mother told me about them but I never believed people would still do such a thing."

Neither had she but this was a very different world. "I know, but trust me Sebastian really is one of the good ones. He only did it because he had no other choice." Because he's lonely and broken and thinks he's a monster. She was determined to prove him wrong.
"Sebastian, huh? I guess I don't have a choice either way. Where are you?"
"Uh...Romania..."
"Jesus Christ!"
She laughed. "I know. And guess what, a freaking witch teleported me here!"
"Seriously? You're mother told me that was possible. Hard to believe..."
"I know. I nearly keeled over from shock."
"I'm just so happy you're okay. I've been beside myself with worry. I didn't know if you-" he broke off and swallowed. "But you're safe, that's all that matters. I miss you."
"I miss you too. Maybe I can visit..." she trailed off, would Sebastian let her? "Are you doing okay by yourself?"
"Actually, this live in nurse just showed up the other day. She's been taking care of me. She's a good cook."
She felt a thrill. He sounded almost happy. Wait... "A nurse?"
"Yea. And another thing someone has been depositing money into my bank account. A lot of money Victoria. I thought it was because...because of what you'd done."
She frowned. Who would send him money and a live in nurse? Her chest pinged, Sebastian. Again her eyes watered, but this time for an entirely different reason. "I'm really happy you're doing okay, Dad."
"Me too."
She glanced at the clock. "Well I'm going to let you go, it's probably really late there."
"Actually it's the middle of the afternoon..." He chuckled. He actually chuckled! How long had it been since she'd heard that sound? "Mary is taking me out for a walk. I have no say in the matter apparently." There came a loud thud and he cursed. "Can never find my damn shoes."
She grinned. "Is Mary your nurse?"
"You'd like her. She's smart and pretty, if not a bit stubborn." Did he just sigh?
"I'll let you go. I love you, Dad."
"Love you too sweetheart, call again soon. I'll worry."
Hanging up the phone she grinned. Years of worry and stress seemed to melt away in an instant. Her father was not only safe but being well cared for and happy. And all thanks to her golden eyed demon.
When I see Sebastian I'm going to kiss his ever loving brains out.
Laying back on her bed she was already imagining it. What would he do if she kissed him? Her stomach fluttered, what would he taste like? Would he kiss her back? Her mind immediately envisioned his hot tongue sliding between her lips, stroking her...

She jumped as her phone vibrated. Then she blushed as if caught with her hand in the cookie jar.
Picking up the phone her eyes widened, it was a text message from Sebastian. The demon had programmed his number into her phone. Reading the message she grinned again.
I'll be there in five minutes. Turn off the lights and wait for me. You can leave your clothes on...unless you don't want too...
S.
Her heart pounded, so clothes were optional?
A thought struck her. Jumping up she hurried to her closet, digging out one of the many new and sexy nightgowns Sebastian had purchased for her. Undressing she slipped it on, shivering as the fine silk slid across her skin. Pulling on a pair of matching panties she inspected herself in the mirror. She'd never worn anything like this before. The nightgown was ruby red, the hem stopping mid-thigh. The bodice was trimmed with lace, her breasts filling it nicely.
Running her fingers through her dark brown hair she smiled. Maybe she wasn't naturally sexy but she certainly felt like it right now.
Pleased she started shutting off the lights but when she switched off the lamp by her bed she blinked in confusion. Even though the room should have been in total darkness she could see it clearly, her vision in tones of grey. She shook her head, closing her eyes before opening them again. Darkness. Rubbing her eyes she frowned. Had it been a trick of the light? Weird.
Sitting on the bed she nearly jumped again when a knock came at the door. After a second it opened slowly. Her heart sped up.
Sebastian's large frame filled the doorway, the dim light from the hall casting him into shadow. He wasn't wearing a cloak this time and she could see the outline of his body. His broad shoulders nearly touched the door frame and she could just make out the shape of his horns. They grew from either side of his head, curving forward. She stared, desire coursing over her.
"Victoria?"
At the sound of his rough voice excitement shot through her. "Sebastian."
******
Sebastian's cock shot hard in an instant.
He stood dumbstruck at the sight before him. Whatever he'd expected to find tonight it wasn't this. Victoria was sitting on the bed, waiting for him, and dressed in the sexiest little number he'd ever seen.
Swallowing he shut the door and walked towards her. "Did you have a good day?" Really, now he was the one blurting pleasantries?
She nodded. "I did. Thank you."
What's going on? She looked extremely pleased to see him. His heart hammered in his chest, his desire rocking him with its intensity. He wanted to push her down onto the bed and mount her, to rip that nightgown from her body and taste every inch of her skin, slipping his fingers inside her waiting sheath. He nearly groaned. Would she be wet for him?
With the demon slamming against his cage he somehow managed not to leap across the room and bury himself inside her. Instead he stood not a foot from her, unable to look away.
So beautiful.
He couldn't think, words flew from his mind. He barely managed to ask huskily, "Are you alright?"
She stood, taking a step towards him. Her scent hit him, soft and sweet. He rubbed a hand over his mouth as he gazed over her body. The tops of her lush breasts spilled over the top of her nightgown, teasing him. Stay in control.
"Very well. I'm really happy you're here."
"You are?" he croaked. Another step towards him. She had to crane her neck up to look at him, which he found both adorable and hot as fucking hell. He started to shake with the effort not to rip her nightgown off.
"I spoke to my father."
"Oh?" She was so close, he could feel her heat. That damn nightgown clung to her curves deliciously, tempting him beyond reason. Her nipples strained against the fabric, making his mouth water. Don't rip it off her. Don't toss her on the bed. "And how is he?"
Sebastian thought his heart would stop when she stood up on her toes and wrapped her arms around his neck. "He's being well cared for. Thank you, Sebastian," she murmured softly.
He blinked, unable to focus. Her soft little body was pressed against his own and it took everything he had not to haul her up against him and fuck her right then and there.
His hands clenched into fists before he clutched at her wide hips. "For what?"
Her eyes grew heavy. "For taking care of him."
The scent of her desire hit him like a truck. Shit! He cleared his throat, not bothering to deny it. "That was...it's nothing."
She shook her head. "It means everything.
"Victoria..." his words died in his throat as she leaned up and kissed him.

But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves.
