《LGBTQIAP+ Milestones: Book 1》I'm a what?

Straight. Hetero. None of these labels seemed to fit me. None of them stood out and said "this is you,". It wasn't just those labels that didn't fit the criteria either. I definitely wasn't a lesbian and bisexuality didn't seem to match what attraction I felt towards other people.

I started my plea for help by posting on some lgbtq+ sites and describing my attraction.

'I'm attracted to everyone. Men, women, transgender people and... Well... Everyone. I'm confused and I'm looking for help. Thank you,".

Almost instantly, a reply was to be found on my post. In this reply they used a foreign word. One I had never heard of. Pansexual.

I was intrigued and immediately took to the Internet, doing my research and asking around. I found this term of 'pansexuality' to fit me perfectly. I felt comfortable using it and it just felt... Right.

It took a while to come to terms with my new found label and I spent a while figuring out if this was really me. I came to the conclusion that I was indeed pansexual and plucked up the courage to tell my best friend.

The thing that made this so much easier was that she had too planned at the same time to come out to me. I was the first to know that she was bisexual, and she was the first to know I was pansexual.

We helped each other along the way and I'm yet to tell anyone apart from my friend. But I know that I have her and the rest of the lgbtq+ communities support for as long as I need.

For now, I'm happy knowing who I really am and I, waiting for the right time to come out.

Thanks,

Liv.
