My name is Malia. I'm 14 years old. Yes, it seems a bit young, but I know what I'm talking about.

I've always had crushes on boys. I even went out with one in the 5th grade. (Long story) Then it happened in 7th grade when a new girl (Let's call her Em) came to my school. I began to develop feelings for her. I still liked guys so I got very confused. I didn't know what was wrong with me.

Then, using my first Wattpad account, I began to read stories about people like me, both fiction and non-fiction. I came down the a conclusion that I was bisexual. I was happy that I finally figured out what was wrong with me, even though nothing really was.

When I went back to school in the fall for my 8th grade year, I decided to tell my very religious friend (Let's call my friend "Person".) (I also forgot to tell you: I went to a catholic school!)

So, I walked up to Person and started small.

"I need to tell you something. You can't tell anyone about this," I began.

"Alright. We're sisters, you can tell me anything you want to, Lia," Person said with a smile.

"I'm bi," I said quickly. Person stared at me.

"What?" she said. With that word, I knew that she was against me being who I am.

"I'm bisexual," I said again. Person shook her head.

"I always knew you liked me as more than a friend," Person snapped.

"What? No. It's Em that I like." I said quickly.

"You need Jesus," Person said.

"What? Because I'm me? There is nothing wrong with that!" I shouted.

"It's against the bible to be gay," Person said.

"I'm not gay," I said.

"You're half gay. Don't talk to me ever again," Person said.

I walked away.

She, to this day, still doesn't support and accept me. I try to talk to her but she doesn't reply. After that, I never came out to my parents and at this point, I don't even want to tell them. I will some day, but not right now.
