《Allah's Plan For You & Me》Lessons of Ashura

Ashura was a battle between right and wrong; a divine battle which is not forgotten by time.
The more time is lapsed from its date of happening, the clearer its teachings become for us.
Imam Hussain (as) through his sacrifices, taught many lessons to the coming generations.
Imam Hussain's battle has many aspects. One aspect is its behavioral teachings, which are as follow:
Freedom here does not mean to be free from moral bondages, as that would be slavery to the worldly desires.
Freedom means that one should not accept oppression, but live an honorable and graceful life. Imam Hussein (as) was such a person.
He (as) once said, "Dying gracefully, is better than having a lowly life." That is the destiny he chose for himself in Ashura.
Selflessness is a characteristic of great men.
Although they need what they have, they give priority to others.
Such people are ready to sacrifice their lives or their properties.
Both are valuable acts for Allah (swt).
Imam Hussain (as) sacrificed everything he had for the cause of Allah; his life, his children and his relatives.
In order to show to people who Yazid really was, Imam Hussain (as) left Medina and went to Mecca.
There, he spoke to the people about the evil ruler.
When they tried to kill him, he left Mecca, as a sign of respect for Kaba, and went to Iraq, although he knew that some people were trying to kill him.
He trusted Allah in his journey.
On the day of Ashura too, Imam Hussain said that he only relied on Allah and that he had faith and trust in Him,
"I have trust in Allah, the one who has created you and me."
Children of Prophet Muhammad (saw), are all courageous, brave, and have strong determination.

The bravery of Imam Hussain (as) in regards to the event of Ashura was extraordinary:
"Come with me tomorrow, any of you who is prepared to sacrifice his life for Allah",
Imam (as) said to his followers before leaving Mecca for Iraq.
Believers are committed to Allah and keep their words to the people.
This is also apparent in the battle of Ashura. Talking about the people of Kufa, not keeping their promise, Imam Hussain (as) said, "I am not surprised by this development. That is what you did to my father and to my cousin, Muslim bin Aqeel as well."
And later, he lauded his followers for their loyalty, on the night before Ashura,
"Never have I seen people more loyal than my followers."
One's behavior is a result of one's beliefs.
Whatever the believers do is for the sake of Allah, while others do everything for fame and for position.
One of the teachings of Ashura is the message of action for the sake of Allah, as Imam Hussain (as) had no other motivation to get himself, his family, and his followers killed, but the satisfaction of Allah.
People of Allah, who are just after the satisfaction of Allah, only want to carry out their duties and are not after a specific outcome.
A soldier should fight wholeheartedly, whether he will be the winner or loser.
Imam Hussain was not after worldly victory or positions in his battle.
He just wanted to carry out the duty Allah had assigned him.
Imam Hussain (as) said, "I hope Allah will grant us happiness and goodness for us, whether we win, or we lose."
The events of Karbala reflect the collision of the good versus the evil and the virtuous versus the wicked.
The incident of Karbala taught the lesson to maintain discipline in society and remain steadfast against evil forces.

The War Wolves
If you’re good at something, never do it for free. That’s what Ludgar’s uncle taught him. Sellswording isn’t the most glamorous life, but it pays well if you’re good at it. Interesting as well, if you ignore the very probable possibility of a swift, sticky end at the hands of pointy things. When the mercenary lifestyle grows incompatible with the Kingdom of Evandis, he and his merry band of misfits set off west to seek those with a better proclivity for warfare and with much deeper pockets. At his side: a wandering barbarian who teeters on the edge of savagery, a girl who would have a heart of gold if she didn’t pawn it off to the nearest fence, a wannabe knight who is absolutely overcompensating for something, and the last person in the universe who should be anywhere close to magic. But, as most mercenaries find, the right decisions are quite an expensive luxury, and the wrong ones happen to pay very well. Then again, what are the value of morals to a hungry wolf?

The Shattered Circle
Aleyr Frostborn has survived a hundred prophecies of her defeat, breaking each one by slaying the champions of light sent to kill her. Amongst the forces of good, her very name is a curse, and with good reason. Beyond her own evil, it is said that so long as she lives, the reign of the Godslayer himself will last: the lich king who the terrified masses call the King in Black. While the kingdoms and empires that surround the blighted lands of the undead lands struggle to survive and beat back the tide of evil, the machinations of the Eternal Kingdom's dark court barely contain the bitter struggles for power between the forces that have made it what it is. With one foretold hero brutally snuffed out, another will inevitably arise. For Aleyr, the cycle only further embitters her towards the gods of good and all those who serve them. But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds. After all, many things can be broken, not just prophecies.
