When humans commit righteous acts such as doing good deeds & following the commands of Allah (swt), it helps them to become more angelic.

On the other hand, when humans commit evil acts such as lying, gossiping, jealousy, etc. It'll turn them animalistic and less human like.

Imam Sadiq (as) said, 'Just like how you wash your body with water to clean it, you also need to purify your heart with piety.'

Humans have a purpose for their existence and life. They have no choice but to find out about it, otherwise, they'll live a life filled with confusion & uncertainty.

The purpose of our life and existence!

How can we understand the meaning of this sentence? We must think about it!

What are the steps to finding out:

-First: What is the purpose for our Creation? We should know the meaning.

- Second: To reach that goal, we must take steps towards it, out of our own free will and move in that direction.

- At the end: The path becomes clear and obvious, that if we did understand it, we would seek that destination.

These three questions are something that every human must ask themselves!

Why am I created? What is the purpose of my life? And how do I reach that destination that I'm created for?

The answer to these questions need a lot of explanation. But in simple terms, Allah (swt) has made the path easy for us and gave us the answer in Holy Quran and through Prophet (saw) and 12 Imams (Leaders) so that after studying and learning, we find our path and reach our destination.

In Qur'an, Allah (swt) has mentioned, "And I did not create the Jinn and Mankind except to worship me." [Surah Ad-Dhariyat 51:56]

Some people after reading this Ayah may think by this Ayah, Allah (swt) wants us to only do our daily prayers and believe in Allah (swt). And it's considered worshipping Allah (swt).

No, this is wrong! Allah (swt) does not need anything and doesn't gain anything by our worship. It is very wrong to think that Allah wanted us to bend ourselves and do Sujud only and that is why he created us!

So what is the meaning of this Ayah?

In Ayahs of Holy Quran, it has already been mentioned about the purpose of creation of Humans. In Surah Al-Mulk, it has been mentioned, "[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving."

Allah (swt) has created us to test us and to see which of us is more best in deed.

Allah expects us to worship him only, when the other Ayah says to test you which of you is the best in deed, it means, the best in deed is the one who worships Allah (swt) better!

In Qur'an, it's mentioned, "Except when your Lord has given mercy, and for that He Created them." [Surah Hud 11:119]

This Ayah shows that Allah has created humans for a special mercy that other creatures don't have the capacity to understand it; only humans and maybe up to a small degree Jinns are able to understand that mercy!

So the meaning of; 'And I did not create you except to worship me.' Is that if you want to obtain that mercy that is the highest stage of mercy and no other creatures is competent to understand it, the way is to worship!

In summary, we can say that Allah has created us so it becomes known who is best in deed, and the one who is best in deed, is the one who worships Allah better, and with Worshipping Allah humans become worthy of obtaining that 'mercy' which they have been created for.

There might be questions regarding this Mercy from Allah as to why it can only be obtained through worship? And why there isn't any other way? Well, this is a complicated topic that is very difficult and complex and if we want to get the answer through our own mind, we shouldn't expect to be able to solve this question. But by referring to Quran, other Hadiths and plenty of sayings that we have, we can kind of understand it.

Some of the sayings and quotation are in depth and some of them have been summarized. There is this trustworthy saying that has been mentioned in more than five Islamic books and that is, Allah has mentioned, "The believer by doing their daily Nafilah prayer and their mustahab prayers can get close to me."

They get closer to Allah little by little, then so close until they become Allah's beloved/cherished servant!

"When they become my beloved servant, I'll be his/her ears they hear with, eyes they see with and hands they grasp things with."

In other narration it's been mentioned, "I'll be the tongue they speak with."

It is a very unique explanation, Allah (swt) says, "My servant will reach such position where I'll be their eyes and ears, etc. Think about it, what a grand position that would be!

To make it a little easy to understand.

Imagine the believer who has reached that level! Now, they wouldn't say haram things that Allah doesn't like, right? Their eyes wouldn't look at forbidden things, right? They would avoid hearing wrong and haram things, right? Think deeply!

The great scholars have worked really hard to try and interpret these sayings.

Sheikh Bahai said, "The Masters of Heart can understand this narration that is not possible to say! I try my best to explain so that it's easy to understand." Then in justification of this narration, he talks about the meaning.

Note: The Masters of Heart refers to people who have reached that high spiritual level that is mentioned above and are amongst the beloved Servants of Allah.

I mean, just like how we are surprised with the meaning of this narration, the respective Scholars have also been trying their best & working hard to interpret this narration. And maybe, at the end, they confessed that this isn't the final meaning. But these interpretations are what we can say within our understanding. But they said, 'Masters of heart' can understand things that we can say, meaning these are the things they can say.

We don't undrestand because we haven't reached our destination! And until we reach there, we can't figure out and taste it's flavour. But we can only say that such position, can be interpreted as being close to Allah. But how can we be close to Allah (swt)? There is not a house or place!

Now what does being close to Allah means?

It means:

1. Except Allah (swt), you don't see anyone or anything else, not even yourself.

2. Being close to Allah, is not about distance or any places; it means, humans with their own personal choice go after their destination by doing good deeds, worshipping, being away from any evil and bad deeds. And reach such high rank, that Allah is pleased with them. They also reach a rank in a way that even their Duas & prayers gets easily accepted.

The Role Model of all Humans,

Asiya wife of Firaun.

What did she meant when she talked about closeness to Allah?

Lady Asiya (s.a) wife of Firaun while being under severe torture said, "O Allah! In this world, I'm a prisoner of Firaun, rescue me from him. And create a house in Paradise for me next to yourself."

The meaning of her words, 'next to you" is not about distance or anything physical because she knew Allah does not have a house. Her spiritual position was higher than that, for her words to mean such things. She meant, being close to Allah as I had mentioned above & reaching such position.

In summary, we must say that the reason for our Creation is to be close to Allah. Eventhough, most of us lack so much & are weak and ignorant. But if we want and try, Allah can take us so high and step by step help us get closer to Him until we reach a level where he is most pleased with us. Humans have been created for this purpose. Those who have gotten there, they've reach their destination. They were the reason for creation. Such as, Ahlulbayt (as) and all the 12 Imams [Leaders appointed by Allah] And those who learned from them, like Ayatollah Behjat (ra).

As we discussed, the only way is: to worship and obey Allah (swt). There is no other way.

The grand Ayatollah Behjat (ra)'s quote was, "You must do your obligatory tasks and avoid all haram things."

When he said these words, he clearly knew the meaning of them himself.

We can also say such words, but it's different with the way he says it. It was clear like a daylight for him, the meaning of these words and he did not have any suspicion. But unfortunately, most of us, when we say that. In our heart, we think, What does Prayer (salat) has to do with this? Or why should I do that Mustahab prayers? There is this doubt in our hearts. Most of us, haven't understood what it means truly and don't take it seriously. Sadly, We have yet to reach that position!

How to worship Allah (swt)?

Allah has sent Prophet Muhammad (saw) and all the 12 Imams [Leaders] to teach us how to worship and obey Allah.

This is the biggest blessing that Allah has granted us with his own mercy.

Their lives are clear for us and how they lived. The life of Prophet (saw). The life of Imam Ali (as) that even his enemies couldn't help but to praise him. They all knew, he was a man of worshipping Allah, man of truth, sacrifice, justice, etc. His knowledge and Taqwa was

incomparable. You cannot hide these! The enemies of Imam (as) tried so hard to hide his virtues; but Allah (swt) helped us to find them out even after 1400 years. So we know, how Imam (as) lived. So tomorrow, we don't say, 'I didn't know.'

In conclusion, the path to succeed is to follow teachings of Islam through Quran and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (saw) & his Ahlulbayt (as) and 12 Imams (as) [Leaders].
