I don't own Naruto, only Harmony, and other characters that I make up.
It gets annoying having to type this in every chapter, how about you guys just skip them, and any random notes I come up with... yeah....
Random thing: Do you know how funny it is to see a really fat, lazy, old cat that sleeps for about 23 hours a day go crazy for a piece of ribbon. It's pretty entertaining.... NO SIMBA DON'T RUN A WAY!!!! I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING FUN!!!! :'( *in a little emo corner* my cat just ran away from me :'(
... Now that that's over, back to the story!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOO SIMBAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! COOOMMMMMEEEEE BACKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!
^ Sad thing is, I only keep this now because it reminds me of him.... I miss my fat cat, but at least now I have a crazy kitten.

Chapter 16 -
Tree Climbing!!! FUN!!... No...
(No face for this one... -_-)
---------------
It was a little while ago when the rest of the team got up and headed into the forest to train. I don't think anyone saw because I was still in my tree, watching the sun. I pulled out my journal, when I realised I didn't even know the date today. 'That's just great, for all I could know, it could be THAT day.' I sighed and hoped down from my tree, walking towards Tazuna's house. When I opened the door I saw Tazuna's daughter by the sink washing dishes by herself.
"Hey, need some help?" I asked, making her jump. She turned around and saw it was just me.
"Oh, no, I don't need any help, but thank you Harmony. That's very nice of you any way." She said to me while drying off her hands with a towel. "Hey, why aren't you with your team? They were looking all over the house for you this morning until your sensei made them all leave for training."
I sat down on one of the nearby counters that she wasn't using. "Well you see... Sorry, I don't think I ever learned you name, what was it?" I asked, a little embarrassed.
"It's Tsunmi." She said with a small smile.
"Right, Tsunmi. That's a nice name. Anyway, I'm not with my team right now, but I plan on checking up on them in a little bit, to see if Kakashi needs any help with those three. Hey I was wondering, if it wouldn't be too much, if there were any leftovers from breakfast, and what is the date today?" I asked Tsunmi.
"Oh no it's not any trouble, and there is still plenty." Tsunami quickly got a bowl out and filled it with some white rice. "And today if June 3rd." She said as she handed it to me with a pair of chopsticks. I grabbed to bowl, saying a small "thank you" to her, and started to eat, but my smile on my face had vanished. 'Just my luck, it's in two days, June 5. It really came fast this time didn't it, Mother, Father, Brother, Grandpa. Don’t worry, I'll sing with all of you all again, I won't forget.' I finish my bowl of rice and jumped down from to counter and walked to the sink, washing my dishes as I felt Tsunmi's eyes watch my in a sad way.
"Harmony is something wrong. Did something I say upset you?" She asked me. I keep my back to her, as I continued to wash my dishes.
"No, it's nothing you did. It's just the date." I finished washing and drying my dishes and I put them away. I then face Tsunmi, seeing the worried look in her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be okay, it's nothing for you to worry about. I think I should go now and check on my team now though." I walked to the door. "And thanks for the rice! It tasted amazing! See you later Tsunmi, and tell Inari that it's okay to let people in sometimes." I said the last part because I knew that Inari was hiding behind the corner, staying out of sight. I gave Tsunmi a wave before I ran out into the forest to find my team.
~-~-~-~-~-~ 10 minutes later-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
'I really need to work on my tracking skills if it took me this long to find them.' Right now i was sitting on a branch in a high tree looking down right at me team, even though they didn't seem to know I was even there. From what I can tell, Kakashi was telling them about chakra and how to use it properly. 'Hmmmm, he must be going to train them to climb trees with just chakra, good way on teaching them about it, and for them to control on their own.'
"TREE CLIMBING?!" They yelled at Kakashi. 'Bingo.' I couldn't see who really, but I'm guessing it was Naruto and Saukra, because as far as I can tell, Sasuke doesn't yell.
"What kind of Training is that?" I heard Sakura asked Kakashi, obviously not impressed by it.
"Well, listen till the end. This isn't normal tree climbing. You'll climb without using your hands." Kakashi explained.
"How?" I sighed quietly at that, hearing that once again, Sakura had asked a question.
"Well... Watch." Kakashi replied. I read a slight buzz from Kakashi concentrating him chakra to the soles of his feet, before he hobbled up to a tree, and then actually hobble UP the tree.
"He's climbing..." Naruto said.
"Vertically... With just his legs." Sakura finished. I heard Kakashi's steps stop as he hung upside down from a tree branch. A branch that belonged to a tree that was right beside the tree I was sitting on, but not as high up.
"You understand now? Gather your chakra in the bottom of your feet and climb up a tree. This is something you can do once you can use chakra well. Here's the main part. Listen closely. The purpose of this training is..." Kakashi paused a little. "First, to teach you to control chakra. To bring out the proper amount to the proper area. As I said earlier, this is the most important aspect when using jutsu. This can be difficult for even a skilled Ninja. The amount of chakra needed to climb a tree is small, but it must be exact. And it is said that the bottom of the foot is the most difficult area to gather chakra. If you can learn this control, you should be able to master any jutsu. Theoretically..." I smirked as he said the last word. ‘Theoretically... not really. You can all most master any jutsu if it goes with a person's chakra nature; the only cheat to all jutsus is the sharingan.'
"The second thing is for you to develop the stamina needed to control chakra properly. Depending on the jutsu, controlling your chakra properly can be very difficult. And a ninja will usually be gathering his chakra during battle while constantly moving. These types of situations make controlling chakra even more difficult. That's why, from this tree climbing, you must gain the stamina needed for this proper control. Well... Me talking all day isn't going to accomplish anything." Kakashi said finally. I stood up, making the branch move a little. I noticed that Sasuke whipped his head in my direction, but he must have thought it was some sort on animal, because he turned his attention back to Kakashi. I let out a small, but clear giggle, finding that they didn't know I was here funny. 'Well, I guess it's my time to make an appearance.

======== Sasuke's POV===========
"Well... Me talking all day isn't going to accomplish anything." Kakashi-sensei finally finished explaining everything to us. 'Hn, as long as I get stronger, I'll do it.' I thought, still not really impressed with the tree climbing technique. I heard a branch move from high up, on a tree beside Kakashi-sensei's. 'Must be a squirrel or something.' I was about to turn my head back to see Kakashi-sensei when a chime-like giggle came from the same branch that just moved. I tensed as I pulled out a kunia, ready to fight.
"Kakashi, Kakashi, Kakashi. Don't you think that this training is still a little too advanced for those three? I mean they are only genins straight out of the academy." I would have gasp if I was someone like Naruto or Sakura, because there WALKING down the tree, was Harmony. I glared at her not liking how she is doing that already, and like she has done it forever. I look out of the corner of my eyes and saw that Naruto and Sakura were clearly surprised and confused as well. I looked up at Kakashi-sensei, and saw that he had an amused look on his face as he watched Harmony walk down the tree.
"No Harmony, I don't think it is too advance for them. Put a little faith into them, they just might surprise you." He said to her, only making her scoff.
"Yeah right. Let's see, we got a hyper active knuckle head with a dream, and little fan girl, and an emotionless guy. To top it off, one of them is an Uchiha! Does that sound familiar to you Kakashi?" She pause and flashed a cheeky grin at him "Yeah they may be able to do it, but they are sure gonna have to fight for it." She said she walked onto solid ground with her hands on her waist, looking up at Kakashi-sensei. I glared even more at the strange girl with fire red hair and amber eyes; the one that was showing though was shining a bright emerald/amber green for some reason.
‘Even though she already told a bit about her she is faster, smarter, and I can tell that she is a lot stringer then what she is letting on. And her personality is completely different for the academy. She was quiet, shy and kept to herself. At first I thought she was really weak, so I thought nothing of her, but she is really nothing like that. She said so herself, she could already be a chunin with her strength, so why is she still on a team full of genins? And why did Zabuza know her.' These were some of the questions I wanted to ask her, but I didn't feel like talking.
(A/N: SASAUKE'S THOUGHTS HAVE MORE WORDS THAN WHEN HE SPEAKS!!!!! AHHHHH THE WORD IS GOING TO END!!!!!!!!!!)
"Hn." I grunted to Harmony, before turning his head and looking elsewhere. I heard the grass crunch a little bit, so when I looked back to see what caused it, I saw that Harmony was no longer by the tree on the ground. Now she was standing on top of the branch that Kakashi-sensei was hanging off of. 'She's fast!'
(A/N: *sigh* okay... The worlds not going to end now, Sasuke's back to is one word sentences, it's all good now...)
"Okay. This is something all of you will have to learn with your own bodies." Harmony said right before she threw them. They all landed right by are feet's. "Use these kunias to mark how high you make it up the tree. Then use that mark as your goal and try to surpass it. You guys won’t be good enough to just walk up the tree at first. So get some momentum and try running up the tree instead. Got it?"
"This training is nothing to me!! I could do it before breakfast!!" Naruto yelled as he picked up his kunia. "Cause I'm the most improved!!" '... Idiot.'
"Why don't you stop the bragging. Just pick a tree and hurry up and try to climb it." Kakashi-sensei said to him. I placed my hands into a simple hand sign to concentrate my chakra. Once I had it, I ran at one of the trees. I ran up several meters before to bark underneath my split and push me way from the tree. I did a back flip to steep myself. ‘I didn't think it would be this hard...' I looked up at the mark I made in the tree. ‘Too much chakra and the wood cracks. But too little and you don't stick at all and...' I looked down at Naruto as he was rolling on the ground in pain. ' ... That happens.'
"Hey! This is pretty easy!!" I looked up and saw... Sakura?? She was sitting in one of the tree's branches with her kunia in the wood beside her.
"Sakura-chan!!" Naruto yelled, happy for her. I wouldn't have cared less, expect for the fact that I was unable to reach that height. I knelt to the ground and sighed in shame.
"It looks like the best at controlling chakra right now is our own kunoichi on our team... Sakura." Kakashi-sensei said. I heard Harmony clear her throat.
"So what am I? A guy?" She said in an irritated tone.
"Gomen. Gomen." Kakashi-sensei said to her. 'Hmmmm. They don't really act like sensei and student. More like old friends...'
"WOW!!! YOU'RE AMAZING SAKURA-CHAN!!!" Naruto yelled once again.
"Wow, not only does she know a lot about chakra. But her control and stamina are quite good. As of now... Sakura is the closest to becoming Hokage... Unlike a certain someone..." Kakashi-sensei said, referring to Naruto. 'Heh.'
"And I guess the Uchiha clan isn't worth much either. Wouldn't you say Kakashi?" Harmony said, striking a nerve for me.
"SHUT UP SENSEI AND HARMONY!!! YOU TWO TALK TOO MUCH!!!" Saukra yelled at the two of them. I looked to Naruto and saw him looking at me in the same way. We are going to prove those two wrong. We both took off, determined to get higher and not to lose.
--------------Harmony's POV---------------
(It's easier to hack into a mind that I made up....)
"AHHH! OUCH!" Naruto yelled as he lost control of his chakra and fell down... again.
"You need more control and concentration Naruto." I told him from where I was standing. I was leaning up against a tree to the right of Naruto's, so I can easily see how everyone is doing. I looked down at Naruto to see that he was panting and holding his head in pain as another bump appeared on it. I looked to my left a pit to see Sasuke also panting and looking up at his tree, and not being every impressed. 'Well what did you think would happen? That you would climb to the top on the first time?' I lastly looked at Sakura. She was panting the hardest and laying down on the ground. 'She does have good control, but she needs to work on her stamina more. She doesn't have as much as the other two, so she'll wear out sooner.' I looked back down to Naruto, seeing that his swears of pain and frustrations were getting louder and louder. 'Naruto may have a lot of stamina, but he lacks concentration, so he isn't improving at all. If he is anything like Obito, he'll soon give up and start complaining...'
"DAMN IT!" Naruto yelled as he jumped up. 'Knew it, he really is like Obito..." I saw him start to walk over to where Sakura was now sitting. 'What are you planning to do Naruto?
"Hey... ummm. Could you give me some tips on this?" Naruto whispered to Sakura, or tried to. I could still hear him from where I was. ‘*sigh* you also got to work on being quieter..."
"He's going to get stronger and stronger." I turned my head and saw that Kakashi was standing beside me.
"Yeah..." I looked back at Naruto and Sakura, who was now whispering to him. "But the question is, just how strong. I mean, Naruto's chakra potential is most likely above Sasuke's, and even mine and yours. I'm really looking forward to watch my little brother grow."
~~~~~ Two days later~~~~~~~~~
(Too many time and POV is one Chapter!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Oh and fair warning there around two songs in this, so that's why is seems so long... Oh and when she is singing in her memories, they are bolded.)
*sigh* 'So today is June 5th.... Great.' I was sitting on the ground today watching just Naruto and Sasuke climb high up the trees. They were both now able to go much higher than they could before. Naruto could make it roughly about 10 meters now and Sasuke about 13-14 meters.
THUD! I looked over and saw that Naruto was once again on the ground. I looked up saw that Sasuke was still climbing now, but I could tell that he was about to fall soon. I waited a second or two before Sasuke lost his footing and jumped off his tree to the ground. He must have seen that Naruto was catching up, because he started to glare again. Naruto looked over at Sasuke and then shook his head back and forth before he closed his eyes and looked like he was trying to think. I smiled a little. 'At a boy. Now just concentrate and you'll get it.' He must have got it because when he opened his eyes he had a determined look on his face. Naruto than started to run at his tree again. I silently rooted for him. "Go Naruto! You can do it this tim-'
"Hey Naruto!" Sasuke yelled, causing Naruto to fall straight on his face. I slapped a hand over my mouth to stop my laughing.
"Ouch... That must have hurt." I whispered into my hand, still laughing slightly.
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO FOCUS?!!" Naruto yelled with his face red from falling.
"... Well... ummm..." Sasuke grumbled.
"What is it?" Naruto angrily asked him.
"What did Sakura tell you?" Sasuke said. He turned his face away from Naruto, but I could still clearly see it, he was a red as a tomato! I had to hold my mouth even harder to stop my laughs.
"It's a secret!" Naruto said, most likely just to piss off Sasuke, and working. After that, I couldn't hold my laughter any more, which earned me a death glare from Sasuke. I gave him a small wave before he staked up to his tree to train again. 'God, this team is crazy! But in a way, it's just like my old team... Why do I all ways get the crazy team?!" I said in my mind as I was still laughing.
After a while later Sasuke and Naruto were still running up the tree. I looked to the west and saw that the sun was setting. 'Looks like it's time.' I opened my pouch were my flute was and pulled out the picture had in there. I closed my eyes and let my mind be flooded with old memories.
/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/
"Brother!!" My four-year old self yelled as I ran at my older brother! He turned around quickly and scooped me into his arms and swung me in a circle, making my giggle and laugh in joy.
"Harmony! How are you? I haven't seen you in a while!" My brother, Kou asked when he stopper spinning. I hadn’t seen my older brother for about two weeks because of his mission.
"I'm great big brother. Guess what!!! Momma said that soon she might teach me how to play my flute!!!" I answered him as he put me down. Kou smiled softly at me.
"That's great Harmony. Hey, I think we forgot to do something." Kou said, winking at me. I gasped! How could I forget? I quickly jumped up onto Kou's back and waited for him to start. He smirked a little and started to walk home with me on his back.
Heeey heeeey heeeeey
Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains
I knew I wouldn't forget you
And so I went and let you blow my mind
Your sweet moonbeam
The smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided you're the one I have decided
Who's one of my kind
My brother began to sing the song we all ways sang together whenever he came back from a mission, or if I needed cheering up.
Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight
I sang out, as happy as I could ever be. Kou gave a small laugh at how happy I was.
Heeey heeeey heeeey
Just in time, I'm so glad you have a one track mind like me
You gave my life direction
A game show love connection, we can't deny
I'm so obsessed
My heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest
I believe in you, like a virgin, you're Madonna
And I'm always gonna wanna blow your mind
Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
