Ikki and Yusuke were working at his cafe.
Yusuke: You understand what your job is, right?
Ikki: Serve food.
Yusuke: Correct. You're still too green to join me in the kitchen. But with enough time and effort, I'm sure you'll get there.
Ikki: I'll work hard.
Gaudy Customer: Let me tell you, when it comes to food, Yu-chan really knows his stuff. Especially seafood. I can't help but to order the tempura lunch set every time.
Yusuke: The customers here... they love to talk about my food telling "Eloquents Tales."
Ikki: Eloquent tales?
Then Yusuke receives a phone call.
Yusuke: Yes? Oh, hi! Is everything going well? ...I know, I know.
Ikki: (Who is he talking to?)
Yusuke: Japanese or Western-styled? Well, I've been curious about how it is done in the west, so if you're okay with it. ... ... ... You worry too much, don't worry I promise I won't get into trouble...
Ikki: Huh?
Yusuke: So it's decided? Great. Talk to you soon! Love ya!
Then he hangs up.
Yusuke: Sorry. You're curious who it was just now?
Ikki: N-No...
Yusuke: Okay. Then let's get to work, shall we.
Ikki and Yusuke worked at the food truck for hours. Then they went through another cooking lesson.
Yusuke: Well, let's wrap up for the day.
Ikki: Yusuke-san, may I ask a question?
Yusuke: Sure. What is it?
Ikki: What made you open a cafe?
Yusuke: Well, this is actually our second cafe.
Ikki: Huh?
Yusuke: Our main place is in Okinawa. It was founded by my mom. I'm only working here until this place becomes as established as our Okinawan cafe... Not to mention, there are some other stuff I need to get done here.
Ikki: I see.
I feel my bond with Yusuke-san growing deeper.
Yusuke and Ikki finished wrapping up for the day.

Yusuke: Okay. That will be it for the day. Let's eat up.
Ikki: Yeah. I'm starving...
Yusuke serves Ikki a plate of curry.
Yusuke/Ikki: Itadakimasu.
They began eating.
Ikki: Delicious as always.
Yusuke: Jeez, you're easy to impress. This recipe is just an incomplete prototype.
Ikki was surprised to hear that.
Ikki: Huh? How can something this good be incomplete?
Yusuke: A friend from high school who's an expert in curry helped me figure out many incredible spice combos for my curry. This recipe is something I learned during trial and error while preparing for a curry competition.
Ikki: I just remembered, what about today's lecture?
Yusuke: Well... about that...
Ikki: Huh?
Yusuke: Remember when I said there was something I needed to do here in Yokohama? Well...
Ikki: You can't teach me today?
Yusuke: I'm sorry! But this is important.
Ikki: Fine. I guess I'll just go home and play games.
Yusuke: Wait. Actually, this is a good opportunity.
Ikki: Huh?
The two arrived at a large restaurant building.
Ikki: What are we doing in a place like this?
Yusuke: Work.
Ikki: I'm sorry, could you repeat that?
Yusuke walks up to the guard staff, they let him in without much questioning.
Ikki: (Does Yusuke-san's got connections?)
They entered the place, the outside was fancy, but the inside was even more so. It even had an aquarium in full display.
Ikki: Whoa!
Yusuke: First time?
Ikki: Yeah.
Then a waiter walks up to them.
Waiter: Ah, Kisaragi-san. We have patiently waited your arrival.
Yusuke: Sorry if I'm late. I'm ready to get started.
They entered the kitchen, where they were greeted by the head chef.
Head Chef: Kisaragi-san. Thank you for coming all the way to Yokoyama.
Yusuke: No problem, really.
Head Chef: By the way, who's the young man next to you?

Ikki: I'm...
Yusuke: This is my apprentice, Ikki.
Ikki: Huh?
Yusuke: He's been working at my food truck for some time now. He just started cooking, but he's got a bright future ahead oh him, so I decided that this would be a great opportunity for him to gain more practical experience.
Head Chef: An apprentice you say? Of course, it's no surprise that people would come to a man of your talents for your guidance.
Yusuke: Come on, I ain't that much of a big shot.
Then it was time to open.
Head Chef: The customers are seated. Time to work everyone.
When it was time to work, Ikki was assigned to wash dishes, he puts some bowls in the counter, making a little noise.
Yusuke: Shh! Don't make any unnecesary sounds.
Ikki: ....?
Yusuke: Right. You wouldn't know this much. It's so we don't miss any minute change in sound.
Ikki was in awe at Yusuke's performance.
Ikki: (He's so fast, yet meticulous.)
Ikki feels like he was able to learn a lot from simply watching Yusuke work.
It was the end of the day, Ikki and Yusuke were back at the food truck.
Yusuke: So what did you think of the experience?
Ikki: I'm not gonna lie, it was crazy. I felt a little overwhelmed by that kind of new environment.
Yusuke: Yeah, I feel you. It was the same for me when I first stepped into a French kitchen.
Ikki: Not to mention, you seemed like a completely different person.
Yusuke: How was I different?
Ikki: When you're working in the food truck, you always seem like someone who laid back and always fooling around. But when you step inside a serious kitchen, you look like you mean business.
Yusuke: Well, I guess I can look a little serious when I'm cooking. But even though I didn't looked like it back there, I was having a lot of fun.
Ikki: You were?
Yusuke: Yeah. Being able to cook in all kinds of environments, being able to make everyone smile with something simple... that's what it means to be a chef.
Ikki: I see...
Yusuke: Anyways. That's it for today. Sorry I couldn't teach you any recipes.
Ikki: It's fine. I was able to learn a lot from this experience.
Yusuke: Really? I'm glad this experience was useful to you. So... you don't have anywhere else to be after this, right?
Ikki: No.
Yusuke: Then how about we go grab a drink somewhere? It's on me.
Ikki: You haven't even asked my age.
Yusuke: You're in College, are you not?
Ikki: I am.
Yusuke: Then it's all good. Let's go!
I feel my bond with Yusuke-san growing deeper.
After a couple of drinks with Yusuke, Ikki decides to head home and call it a day.

Obstinate Han
A power progression fantasy with a main character who trains constantly but who lacks purpose, direction, and motivation. The world he lives in, however, is not a peaceful one. As obstinate as Han can be, with all of humanity edging slowly towards annihilation, will he truly be able to avoid becoming entangled in the affairs of the deities fighting over his new universe? This story is a slow burn rather than a fast paced action/adventure, and is centered around the perspective of a main character who struggles with depression, apathy, anhedonia, and asociality. This world was doomed well before he arrived, and he knows it. Rather than following the traditional hero model, he just wants to train for its own sake, and to scrape out occasional moments of happiness in a ruined and dying world.
