《Mianite- The Alternate Heroes' Journey》Mot: Battle Between Champions

"Well," I said, to Tom. "It was nice seeing your house, I suppose. It's not as nice as the caste I claimed in, well, your world, but still nice."
"Where are you going?" he asked, swinging his sword. Although he had a menacing appearance, I was getting the idea that he was actually much more like a child. I guess that's another thing we have in common.
"To find other-Alyssa." I raised an eyebrow. "Why, is there something else you wanted to do?"
He shrugged casually. "I don't know. Fight, perhaps? See who's the stronger alternate?"
I let out a short laugh. "I already killed you once. You want to die again?"
Tom rolled his eyes. "You only killed me because of that OP hammer Dianite gave you. We're going to have a real fight. No armor, and wooden swords. Old school fighting."
It was tempting, but meeting Firefoxx was more important to me right now. "Maybe later. Didn't you hear me? I want to meet other-Alyssa."
He sighed. "Fine. I'll go prepare." He stomped off like a child, bringing a small smile to my face.
With Spirit Dianite by my side, I exited through the gate and began to walk toward the edge of the island. The second I stepped out, I found a book laying on the ground. I picked it up and found, to my surprise, that it was a menu.
"Firefoxx must have dropped it," the god said, moving around me to get a better view of the book. "I don't think anyone else here would have a menu on them." I felt him speed away in the direction of Tom's wall. "Speaking of which, she's just arrived. I guess we don't have to go chasing her down, then."
I followed the sound of his voice, and saw that she had managed to climb Tom's wall. She was standing at the top, peering over the edge at him.
"Er... how do I get up there?" I asked. She might have the skills necessary to scale that thing, but I sure didn't. Dianite teleported me up, sparing me from the embarrassment.
"Oh, hello!" she gasped when I appeared. She looked like an older, calmer version of my daughter. They had the same brown hair, but Firefoxx's skin was lighter and she had bright green eyes instead of bright red ones. She wore a (rather nice) orange hoodie and red shorts, a combination I couldn't see Alyssa choosing.

"Hi, other-Alyssa," I said, holding out my hand. She shook it right away. "I'm guessing you're the one they call Firefoxx?"
"That's me. And you must be Mot? Other-Tom?" She still looked rather surprised to see me, but not in an unfriendly way.
"That's right." I looked down at the menu I was holding. "You don't happen to like to cook, do you?"
That put a smile on her face. "Heck yeah, I do!" Firefoxx seemed to be bursting with energy all of a sudden. It was very pleasing to see that she was just as passionate about cooking as my daughter.
"Then I'm guessing this is yours?" I handed her the book. "Foodie touches?"
She looked inside of it and laughed. "Yeah, this is mine. I suppose I must have dropped it. Foodie touches is the name of my restaurant. You're welcome to come visit it any time, by the way!"
I was about to give an eager reply when Tom flew up onto the wall with us, revealing large wings. "What are you guys doing in my house?" He furiously swung his sword at both of us. It hit poor Foxx, and she jumped back in pain. It didn't seem to have actually hurt her through the thick armor she was wearing, but it was still rather rude of him.
"When will you learn your lesson?" I growled, taking out the hammer and hitting him with it. With a small shriek, he died instantly (much to Firefoxx's amusement).
"MOT!" Dianite yelled, although he sounded on the verge of laughter himself. "What did I say?"
I sighed. "He swung first. He hit Firefoxx!" She looked pleased that I had stood up for her, but my god was not so impressed.
I was teleported to the top of Tom's tree. Not on anything, just floating up in the air. For a second, I hung there, incredibly confused on why I was suddenly floating, and then I began to fall. Just like that, I plummeted toward the ground. I managed to let out one cry of terror before I hit Tom's pavement and died.
I dusted myself off, glaring at the zombie while he doubled over with laughter. "That's what you get for not following my instructions, boyo," Dianite teased.
"You wanna fight?" Tom yelled. Before I could react, he ran at me, killing me instantly.

That was enough dying for me. "Do I still have to play nice?" I shouted at my invisible god.
"Forget playing nice!" my alternate yelled impatiently. "I want to fight!"
"Fine!" I was a bit rusty on my fighting skills, but I would do anything to get this guy to shut up at this point. "Let's fight! Wooden swords, no armor. Let's go!"
"Ah," Dianite decided to join in. "My champions. Two grown adults acting like little kids. What wonderful choices I've made."
We both smiled at that one. "Alright then. I'm ready when you're ready!" Tom threw his armor and good weapons in a nearby chest, then turned to face me with his wooden sword.
I drew my sword as well. "3... 2... 1... go!" We ran at each other, my alternate yelling a battle cry. Amusing. Our swords clashed, and blood was spilled immediately. Just as he was about to die, I took a step backward and fell off a small pile of wood. He peered over the edge and took out the rest of my health, while I was having trouble reaching him.
"Rekt!" Tom laughed when I respawned next to him, fully healed. "You got owned!" His eyes suddenly lit up, as if a brilliant idea had just come to him. "Hey! You want to head over to this place Martha set up? We can have a friendly chat and drink tea!"
"Hmm," I said, surprised at how quickly his mood had changed. "I haven't heard a word about Miss Martha in years. I'd love to have some tea, though."
"Great!" he turned to Firefoxx, who was digging up his lawn. "Could you get us some tea from your house? And stop messing up the grass!"
She giggled and darted away. "Two cups of tea will be served at Martha's house as soon as possible!"
"So, Mot!" Tom said in a deep voice, banging his fist on the table between sips of tea. "Tell me a tale from your land!"
His change in attitude was both shocking and hilarious to me. "I... a tale? What do you want me to tell you about?"
He took another sip and grinned. "Tell me a tale about the big booty b**tches!"
I felt my face growing red. "Erm... well... I only really have my eyes set on one person, and I don't think it would be right to talk about his butt."
Tom grinned, a look of pure mischief in his eyes. "Tell meeeeeeee!" He grabbed a slice of cake and sloppily shoved pieces into his mouth.
I raised my eyebrows and took a sip of tea myself. "You really want me to talk about Dianite's butt?"
"YES!" he shouted, clearly enjoying this talk way too much.
"Well, what do you want to know?" What could you possibly want to know about the butt? It was a nice butt, sure, but I wasn't sure if it would be a topic for a long conversation.
"ALL ABOUT IT!" he laughed. I rolled my eyes, so he changed the topic. "There's a jukebox here. I'll put in my favorite." He took a disk from the stack and plopped it in. "Do you like it?"
I shrugged and set my empty cup on the table. "It's alright. I have a better one, though."
He snorted. "Do you, now?"
I stood up and shuffled through the pile until I found the right one. It was a slower tune, and Tom warmed up to it right away.
"A bit of jazz, I like it!" He ate some more cake as he listened.
It was my turn to flash him a mischievous grin. "Yeah. This is the song you use when you take someone to bed."
It was his turn to blush. "O... oh. Alright then."
"What are my champions doing now?" I felt Dianite fly from behind me and land on the grass beside the table. "Listening to music, drinking tea, eating cake?"
"Having a chat about..." I began, wanting to steer the conversation away from what we were really talking about.
Your big booty!" Tom interrupted me. He burst into laughter when he saw the look on my face.
"My... my booty?" Dianite asked. I could feel his gaze, and I wanted to melt into the floor for the second time that day. "Is my butt a nice butt?"
"The finest booty in all the land, according to Mot here!" my alternate looked like he was having the time of his life.
I had been here for only a few hours, and I was already enjoying myself much more than I should be.

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy
