《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch 11- Dianite's purge plans

Claire POV-
After a long day of training with Tom for the purge Jordan decided to go back home and rest. Unfortunately, as soon as she opened the door she found her least favorite person inside her home.
Dianite.
After concluding that there was no way she could make a run for it, Jordan decided to stay calm.
She wasn't gonna give him the satisfaction of knowing he could make her flustered so easily. With that in mind, she made her way to the living room and sat down as if there was nothing wrong.
"Is there anything I can help you with? Or are you here for a more sinister purpose?" she tried to sound intimidating but her voice came out a bit high pitched. Looked like that would have to be a work in progress.
"I'm actually here to discuss tomorrow's purge my dear, I've seen you practicing with dear old Tom. What are you tying to prove with that? Trying to outfight the enemy by training with him? Or considering joining him? After all I don't see your god here to protect you."
Next thing she knew he was sitting right beside her.
"Look, I'm not trying to prove anything, specially to you. I'm training with Tom to make it thought the purge, I'm in it to win it. As far as what team I'm on, I will will continue to be on Ianite's side, but you already knew that. What's really bothering you?"
Jordan thought she had crossed a line that she shouldn't have just then, questioning a god didn't sound like something many would do after all, but Dianite didn't react to her comment.
"As long as you don't stray Tom from his wicked ways nothing is wrong. And trust me, you wont be an Ianitee for long. As I said before, everyone has a price, you Sparkles, are no different"
She tried to come up with a snarky remark but managed to come up short. It didn't even matter since Dianite left short after without saying a word.
Seeing the gods always excited her in a way. They didn't come often, but when they did it was for something big. It also scared her a bit. Dianite usually came to punish or pick a fight, Mianite usually came with missions or tasks, neither one of those options was appealing to her.

That week had been full of training and observing. She caught on to many patterns from around the island aside from the god's whereabouts.
She also hadn't seen Ianite in her dreams for a while, but she hadn't had any nightmares so Ianite must still be looking out for her. Jordan just hadn't seen him.
Jordan suspected that it was Dianite's doing, hence why she didn't want to go along with his games today. In all the craziness of the week, she also been trying to find a way to find Ianite, but so far no leads had come up.
The purge was tomorrow.
Luckily she had a bow that Mianite gave her yesterday from Ianite. Its a really good bow too, she hoped it wasn't to much trouble to make, but she would use it as best as she could. After hiding most of her valuables in a secret location she decided to pray to Ianite for luck tomorrow.
"Ianite. I dont know if you can hear me but I hope tomorrow will be my chance to show you that though I may not be from around here, I can still fight like the rest... I just hope you are ok. I will rescue you from Dianite's grasp, not because it may lead for a way back home. Rather because I cant lose you. Over these past couple of days I've gotten to know my friends, this place means a lot to me and I will do anything to restore its balance. Well, I'll take it on one step at a time."
*Purge Day*
Jordan grabbed some of her less powerful weapons at the begging , she didnt want to risk losing her good ones yet. She wanted use those first rounds as warm up to get a better idea what she was getting herself into.
Turns out that was a great idea.
As soon as the priest called the beginning of the purge Tom threatened he was coming to kill her first.
Did Dianite tell him he had to kill her? Or was he just overly competitive?
Surprisingly, she wasn't scared at all, to be honest, she had been dying to take him on!

As she saw a small figure make its way her direction she got ready for battle. Jordan turned into her battle stance and readied the sword. Once he got lose enough that there were only a few feet between them he stopped.
"Sparkles, are you prepared to die? Because it looks like thats how its going have to be, there is no other choice" he said
Then she fiercely replied, "The fact that your god put you up to this is kinda sad Tom, you cant even fight for yourself and your god is too much of a coward to face me himself"
His surprised look confirmed her suspicions, he had told Tom to kill her.
She loved Tom, but she had to take him down. For Ianite.
Jordan swung her sword as accurately as she could but Tom dodged the blow and changed fierlessly. One thing she had noticed while training was that Tom didn't think things through and she was counting on him making this mistake. Still, his blows were powerful so she had to be careful not to get hit.
He swung to hard and missed, this gave her the chance she was waiting for. While he was trying to recover his posture Jordan hit him with her deadliest blow.
That seemed to do the trick.
The world communicator announced, "SynHD was slain by CaptainSparkles".
Immediately afterwards everyone screamed in disbelief. Except for Tucker, he just laughed and said "Get reked bud".
This kill gave her the confidence that she needed but it also made Tom come after her more.
As the time when by the score board was not what she thought it would be, after an hour since the purge had begun she was at the top of the leaderboard with 10 kills, Tom was second with 8 kills, Tucker was third with 5 kills, and Sonja 4 but she probably got the best loot while they were all killing each other.
Jordan was beyond exhausted at that point, so she found a small cave to hide in to eat something real quick. It was during that brake that it all sinked in, she had killed..
After killing mobs it seems like a necessary action, but even the first time she killed Tom, she couldn't look at him. She couldn't stand looking at his dead body before it disappeared.
For everyone there, killing was harmless because they could spawn back, but her world wasn't like that. Still she had to push that aside for now.
This purge would only last an hour and a half so she had to use the remaining 30 minutes to try to get some cool stuff from everyone and to hide from Tom so he wouldnt kill her and win. Jordan had formed an unofficial alliance with the mianitees so they agreed not to kill her for a while. They just wanted Tom to lose.
Then the world communicator suddenly announced the arrival of the two gods. Jordan waited for a few more seconds in the hope that the would communicator would announce her god, but as expected he didn't show. She knew she had to win this, for him, to show Dianite that he was gonna pay for everything. So Jordan decided to take a risk and go looking for Tom.
She found him by his house with the modestep brothers, they were planning an attack.
Jordan waited till they were done and each went their separate ways, thats when she came up behind Tom and got him in one blow.
Great 11 kills for her, take that Tom!
Then she went to his house and waited till he ran out looking for her. Afterwards, she went inside and got some much needed iron. Jordan decided that she wasn't gonna be da rude and take some of his good stuff, she wasn't that savage.
Then just before she headed out to find a place to chill till the purge was over the priest called time.
Jordan had just won her first purge...wow. She actually did it!
During her little victory dance something interrupted her happiness. In the distance she could see fireballs bouncing all over the place.
Well, someone wasn't happy.
That should teach Dianite a lesson.
