《The Spark of Balance: The Realm of Mianite (Book 1)》Ch.45- To the priest

Claire POV-
We all got our stuff together before heading out to see the priest. She wore her usual outfit and cape long with a bow and a diamond sword. Although she wasn't fond of the idea of magic (mostly because her tests had done nothing to identify what gave them their properties) she took a few potions with her on her backpack hidden under her cape.
Tom had been acting very strange since she woke up. She still couldn't comprehend why he had been so terrified of what happened, if it had been Tucker or Sonja she would have understood why, but him worrying that much about her was something Jordan had never seen.
All of them being terrified like that made her feel very guilty but at the same time it made her feel loved. Could it be that she was now one of them, considered an equal to her friends? If they cared about her as much as they cared about eachother, then Jordan was now family to them by definition.
Nothing could make her happier.
She cared about them a lot, she would give her life for them. Through talk the time she had been here she got to see the more private side of them, their hopes and aspirations, as well as their fears and strengths. They were all great people, all in their own way because let's face it, they were very different from eachother...
Yet here she was walking along side Tucker and Sonja as they held hands like the adorable couple they were. Tucker was still a bit shaken by the event, he kept his gaze on her throughout the walk, so did Sonja.
Tom on the other hand was back to his goofy, michevious self. He still kept her close though, everythime there was a mob he took care of it faster than ever, always with this concern in his eyes as he looked back at her to see if she was ok.
When they were around the broken remains of the scales of justice Jordan just stopped, she took a small stone and gazed at it in regret. Although she had passed by a few times in the past few days, she hadn't fixed it.
Now after seeing her god for the first time in a while, the memory of that day stood out with shame. She thought of betraying Ianite a few times, yet he welcomed her with open arms. Sure he may not know that, but the fact remains that these ruins were a reminder of all that.

"We forgive you. It was just a prank and we all got our stuff back so no harm was done. If I were you, I would have done the same to take my revenge on Nade." Said Tom
The others began to walk ahead, leaving her with just Tom and the sounds of mobs in the dark. Jordan let go of the stone and took a deep breath, shaking out the memeories of the shadows.
" Can I ask you something? You don't have to answer it if you don't want but... if Dianite asked you to kill or commit a crime against me or the others, would you do it? Would you do anything for you god?" Jordan asked
Tom stood silent for a few seconds before he have Jordan a playful hug and laughed.
"Honestly, I would. That's what being their champions mean, we stay loyal to our gods no matter what. Although maybe I would defy Dinate for certain things. I like to mess around and play pranks, but if he asked me to end you all I would never do it. You guys are my family." He said.
Stay loyal no matter what... she hadn't.
"Even me? Or have you forgotten I'm a girl from another world?" Jordan asked as she quickly killed an incoming zombie, by now it actually seemed like a normal, everyday thing to do.
"I don't care we're you come from, never have. I care about who you are Sparkles, and I care about you a lot. The day you fell from the sky was the beginning of something great, I'm so glad I found you. Just as I would do anything for my god, the same may apply to you. Still, team Dianite for life!!!"
"Hilarious. If you don't mind me asking, why do you follow Dianite? Aside from the obvious." Jordan asked
Tom grabbed her hands and seemed to look deep within this mind, then he spoke quietly.
"I was raised in a place full of Dianitees, believe it or not, this world was once full of conscious beings like us. Between all the wars between Mianitees and Dianitees, the populations shrank a lot. My town was one of the most prosperous though, only the most loyal Dianite families lived there, so that's how I was raised." He said
"What happened?"
"A giant flood drowned them all. Dianite saved me for reasons he never rexplained, he brought me here after it happened. I was 16 at the time I think, stuck with the priest and Champwan's family for quite some time until Tucker and Sonja showed up along with everyone else." He laughed

"I'm sorry... um, what did you mean by unconscious beings?"
"You don't have those back home? Well there are very few conscious people like us but there are also villagers that have no mind of their own. They were crated and bred to serve us by the gods. There are some villages far from here, that's were they are. They trade objects and grow crops, but they don't need to eat, just sleep and breed. Though some have specific jobs, they are brainless. Unable to defend themselves against mobs and stuff. My family actually had many villagers that lived with us..."
The villagers from Minecraft were real! Life got twenty times more weird. Still, she felt horrible for what happened to Tom, Sonja, and Tucker. They all had such tragic backgrounds, nothing like her life back home. Who was she to complain about her life? She had everything that she needed growing up, living a very comfortable lifestyle. Meanwhile, they had lost their lives when they were young, they lost everything.
Tom wiped the tears from her face, tears she didn't know she had. Then she saw it, behind all that goofiness and mischief was a little boy that was heartbroken because of all that loss. She gave Tom a big hug, not being able to find the right worlds, but she didn't need them. Jordan knew he understood.
They hugged intil a zombie akwaly joined the hug as he was trying to kill them.
Both of them laughed and ran at a paced jog to catch up to the lovely couple ahead of them. The sun was now shining at its brightest on top of the sky, still the head was not noticeable whatsoever. From the way she understood it, the world of Mianite had no extreme weather and no seasons, so the weather was nice all year round. Perfect for a jog, odd thing to say from someone who comes from California.
Once they caught up they were steps away from the priest's house. That's when they all heard the infamous purge horn that Tucker had made for the purges. It signaled the beginning and end of a purge, odd thing was, there shouldn't be a purge today.
They all looked at eachother perplexed until the priest came out to explain.
"I've decided that today is the perfect day for a purge. Lord Dianite told me that he had something important for his followers but not till later in the day, whatever it may be is unknown to me so don't ask." Said the priest as he took out a white mask with a grim design.
"Wow! What's that!" Said Tucker
"Last purge, Jordan was telling me about how in her world, the purge is a tale. During their purges, people wore masks to hide their identity to mask their crimes. They also served the alternative purpose of making themselves scarier. Therefore, myself and Kronos have made some to intimidate you guys." The priest said proudly as he put the mask on
Never in her life had Jordan regretted saying something in her life more than at that instant. He looked terrifying. The thing was, once it got darker, having someone that looked like that attacking you would be even more terrifiying. She'd seen it in the purge movie back home.
"An man, we should have done that! Those are so cool!" Said Sonja clearly already planning a design for hers.
"Well, here are the rules for today. This is a wooden sword purge, armor is allowed but nothing else. I will have Kronos do my bidding as always so I'm off limits, plus I believe Champwan will be joining us as well." He said
"Well, we all lost already..." said Jordan "Alliance anyone?"
Tucker and Sonja agreed to it of course, the rest began to scatter to get ready.
"Good luck sparkly pants, you'll need it. Besides, today is a Dianite day! You should be terrified." Said Tom as he handed her a wooden sword
"Maybe the tide will turn today, I'd be careful if I were you." Jordan said before she ran towards the inside of the priest's house were the nether portal was.
"I have a feeling..." she said
"Common, we have to make a run for it! Champwan is here!" Said Sonja
Jordan stared at the portal once more before running beside her friends. Today may just be an important day
