《Mianite: Unitended》Unloved

I remember going outside upset and swearing at the adults in my head, but when I saw Hex. His pale lifeless body. I couldn't move. His throat was slit and his shirt was bloody. He looked like a stained rag-doll.
I always saw Hex as someone strong a brave. He always got himself out of a bad situation. He didn't ask for this. Someone else got him. I didn't cry like I thought I would of. I just stood there hoping to the gods that this was a dream.
I dont remember how long I was standing there. I was frozen in time. I felt sick.
"Jesus Christ". I whipped my head back finally looking away. Nadeshot was standing behind me.
He looked as terrified as I was. He kneelled by his brother. I couldn't imagine what he was feeling. He was always some guy that was never really sure of himself. He always had the reassurance of his brother. Telling him what to do. Now that was gone.
"Nade", I tried to inch closer to him.
He whispered something faintly.
"What", I asked trying to be quit.
"Where are the Mianites".
"I don't know", I lied.
"Yes you do", he started to sound more and more enraged. It reminded me of the modsteps.
I nodded my head, "No I don-"
"Don't lie to me", he screamed. "I know that's Tucker's horse and don't even try to think of an excuse because it won't work". He said it won't work lengthy like he was ready to kill someone.
And that's when I ran for everyone else. I heard Nadeshot scream something but I was to far away to make it out.
"Woow, Woow ok hold the phone, what", I said as Hope explained everything out of breath.
"That's what happened he just started going ballistic", Hope yelled. "And I really, really tried to keep your cover but it didn't work", she seemed really guilty. "I'm sorry", she whispered.

"It's ok Hope you did the smart thing and looked after your own safety", Sonja said grabbing her weapon
She stood up and started going to the door with Tucker behind her. I sat in the chair awkwardly. I felt really bad. I kinda like Hex I thought he was nice.
"You coming". I looked up to see Tucker listening to the door. I stood up. He was the first adult that had actually treated me like I could fight, or I was bait of some sort.
They took a alternative exit out that lead close to where I had set camp.
Sonja set a knife in her hand as we walked up to Nade.
He was sobbing next to his dead brother. I had never seen so much blood in my life. Whoever did this wanted attention.
"Nadeshot", Tucker greeted him casually.
"Why was this needed", he mumbled.
He turned his head."WHY". He screamed and started glaring at Tucker.
He looked down as if for respect,"I didn't do it and Sonja didn't either". He said it calm, almost as if he was upset to. "I would help start and investigation if you like".
Nade stood up. Sonja slightly raised the knife in her hand. "I don't need your help", he said coldly. "Now leave me alone before I kill you all".
Sonja grabbed the horses reins and started walking towards the mines.
"Don't stay out to late Nadeshot", Tucker said before departing, " Please".
Tucker walked quietly by himself. Sonja and I walked together since I really wanted protection just incase another thing or someone came to attack me. The horses were obedient beside her and were clopping along as the straps holding them jingled. I stared at them. I had never seen a horse before. Sonja noticed ,"ever ridden a horse before".

I nodded my head no.
She laughed under her breath ," It's not that bad if you get a horse that won't buck you of and kill you". That alarmed me. I always thought of horses as unicorns. Not bloodthirsty like everything else here.
"It's peaceful actually", she started talking again, " Like no matter how much you screw up they don't care. They don't know but it's sorta like they do".
I thought about it. It reminded me of Hope. Like even though I almost got us both killed in the modsteps she didn't care.
"That's why I love animals", she said cutting of my train of thought. "Anytime I see a animal I have to name it".
I accidentally laughed out loud.
"You don't believe me", she looked at me with bright eyes. She was good at making conversations. "Really if I see a bunny that I would probably eat for winter when I'm starving. I'll name it".
"I guess that's where Hope gets it", I said.
She looked at me surprised I said anything ,"Huh".
"Like when Hope lead me out of the Modsteps, she wouldn't say anything else except she said hi to a squirrel".
Sonja laughed ,"yea that sounds like her".
We reached the entry way and Sonja opened the iron gate. I walked into the table room where Hope was sleeping on. Her backpack was open and she was sleeping on a pink blanket with her stuffed animal.
Tucker walked into another room still seeming upset.
"There's a back room where you can stay", Sonja said looking at Hope ,"I wouldn't go out with the Dianites upset over Hex's death". Sonja went into the room that Tucker walked into.
I picked up Hope and tried to grab her backpack with my other hand. I heard a door creak open. It was Sonja again she popped her head out of the door.
She held up her hand," last thing I promise. Don't sweat the whole, Mianite needs this idea thing. Most of time when Mianite says that stuff it's because he knows you can do it". She went back in the room and shut the door locking it.
I successfully got Hope and her belongings into the bedroom. There was one double bed and a bunk bed. There was also a desk. I put Hope on the bottom bunk bed and put my leather backpack on the desk. I laid on the bed exhausted and fell asleep quickly.

It has been decades since the Wizardly Order rose and helped the Realm to banish the monstruos Elfey from its lands by building the Five Spires. The kingdom has prospered greatly in the time since, advancing both in the magical arts and the more mundane technology. The Wizards have grown too, gaining influence and spreading throught the Realm, Wizards' Towers dotting the landscape on many regions. But as the Realm grows and starts looking beyond its borders, the Wizards are faced with one insidious enemy inside its own borders. Master Garner, a wizard in the scarcely populated far West of the Realm, feels the situation getting out of hand, and a violent purge forces him out of his beloved Tower. The wizard takes his apprentices and allies in search of uncertain safety in the Third Spire.
