《Mianite: Unitended》Untempted

That day later the Wizards built a huge castle right across the optics old place that was gone just like the market. They took building requests since Mianite desperately needed fixing up. Months went like this. Tucker got a knew place with Sonja. Tom got a little house on an island not far off from the other side of the bay with Mianites temple, which worried a few people. Hope and I fixed up the lab after the giant attack. After all of this fixing the Wizards had a lump some of money.
The wizard Wagglington who asked to help had talked to Mianite a lot. Mianite was pleased to hear that not all the Wizards were selfish and said that the time would come when we would need to know.
There was one last clue though that always stopped us from learning where Ianites heart is. No one, except Ianite herself, knew what the heart looked like. Not knowing that or what it was to be exact, Wagglington never had enough information to know where the heart would have to stay.
Of course through all of that I always wondered why Mianite cared. Brotherly love or something else. He just didn't seem like a person to do something out of his way. Something that wasn't for the world, but what do I know.
So here we are about three months later when that hint finally came, and as a surprise.
**********************
"So puppies aren't a different species", Hope asked for the fifth time.
"No kid", I sighed.
We were walking along the mountain above the shore line of Tuckers burnt down house. The one he lived in before I came. Now trees and brush laid there.
"Puppies are baby dogs".
"Why don't they just call them baby dogs then", she scrunched up her nose,"Why do they have to be so confusing".

"Hope you knew that kittens are baby cats. How can you not know what baby dogs are called".
"I've seen cats before. The only thing close to dogs we got here are wolves and no one ever talked about baby them. I just read a book and it was titled Dogs and Puppies. You know so I though that dogs and puppies were related like cats and tigers are"
That made me smile.
"What", she questioned. "I learned cats from a book and I got Scarlett".
Ah yes her blood thirsty cat that wants to eat Tom and hates anything Dianite. The cat that's indestructible, The cat that loves Hope and hisses and scratches anyone else, including me.
"Is your cat actually a cat. I mean are you sure it isn't an alien or something".
Hope nodded her head yes. "Scarlett loves me. You just don't give her what its worth. See she likes Sonja because Sonja is polite and doesn't treat her like she's a monster".
I sighed, "Hope Sonja just likes the fact that Scarlett attacks Tom more than Tucker does".
"It still keeps Scarlett from biting her", she smiled.
"Ok proven point, but-", I stopped talking, seeing something at the edge of the shore line. Something docked.
Hope's eyes got wide. "It's a ship. Get down".
She pushed me down. We were safely hidden under the brush.
"Wait a ship. Like not one of your stupid book things, like a boat" .
"Yes a ship", she hit me on the shoulder,"And ships aren't stupid, there a way of life".
She hit my again with her pink backpack.
"Ack alright", I grabbed her backpack our her hands and started going through it. "Where are your binoculars".
She zipped open the front pocket and got then out, looking through the one lens closing her other eye.

"What do you see", I asked.
She twisted the cap, probably putting the lens in focus.
She sighed, "Well there's a bunch of people who really got into the grunge style".
I laughed at her joke. "Okay no, but really".
"I'm serious!", she twisted the cap again. "There clothes are all ripped up, except these two red heads. I think the ones a captain, supper skinny, he's got pretty long hair to. The other ones got a bandana and an eyepatch".
"An eye patch, seriously?"
"It looks as cheesy as it sounds".
"How big is the boat", I asked.
"Pretty large, but not too large. Like the Wizards would probably build something bigger".
I tried not to sound worried. "Big enough to fight though".
"Mhm", she nodded. "They got cannons, but the flag is a royal purple".
"Purple? Like Ianite purple".
She stopped looking out of the binoculars. "Like the color we dignify with her, yep".
"Maybe there friendly", I questioned. "Maybe there here to help".
Hope shrugged looking through the binoculars again.
"Maybe this is the hint we've been waiting for".
I smiled. "Hope what if we meet Ianite".
She slowly took the binoculars back off of her eyes. She had on her confused face on with the rare worried yellow specks in her eyes coming in. "Well". She handed me the binoculars to look through.
I looked at the boat. It was huge made of wood with metal beaming. The flag on the rope was indeed purple, but the sails were plan white. I didn't see the alleged captain either.
She pushed me, glancing my vision to the side. I saw the "well" that Hope was talking about. The captain was on a small row boat. The eye patch guy right buy him. A crew of four men rowed. The captains hair was long and natural red color, and he had his hat pushed down over his eyes only shading off the top half of his nose. His chin was surprisingly petit with a pretty pink lip color.
Wait pretty hold up. No. Not pretty. He is not pretty.
"Jordan what are we going to do", Hope whined forcing me to stop staring.
"Uhhhh", I couldn't think. I couldn't say anything. I couldn't help it that stupid captain just looked so feminine.
"Should we tell the Mianites".
I nodded my head yes.
"Ok", she stood up, brushing the dirt off of her ripped jeans and leggings as I sat still thinking through my life.
"Cmon", Hope helped me up.
"Did the captain look weird to you", I asked.
"I don't know", Hope shrugged again. "I only saw the dude from behind".
Yea, ok dude.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment.
