《Mianite: Unitended》Unaligned

The captain and I were both in the same predicament. Our annoying team mates were too stubborn to let anything go.
The other pirate, also known as Red, was trying to get some sort of paper out of Hope's grasp. He was failing, miserably.
Hope would scream every other four seconds while he tried to grab whatever she had stolen. He through out couple of threats while he was at it, but I knew he wouldn't go through with it. He backed up more and more every time Hope would shriek.
We both had our weapons and we're both kinda watching peacefully. Well I was mostly watched her. It wasn't to hard to tell what was going on with Hope when she was doing the same thing over and over.
She looked over at me not the bit surprised that I was staring at her. "So you have one too"
She was talking about Hope.
I laughed quietly. "Yeah"
The captain cuffed her mouth. "Red, let the girl go".
He backed up. Putting his hands up. Hope had won another battle.
The captain jumped up to her ship and brought the other pirate and Hope both down.
Hope stood by me, as I tried to glare her into dropping the maps.
The captain sighed out of breath. "I am Capsize, Captain Capsize and this is my older brother Redford".
"Yar", he let out wearily. "I be red beard the great"
The captain rolled her eyes. "Mind him. He embraces the stereotype when he's drunk, which is all the time".
"I believe that you are the Ianites", she said. "If not then your probably Dianites and I should start running now".
"No!" I said louder then I meant too. I cleared my throat. "Why do you need us".
She looked skeptical. "You didn't get any type of message".
Oh no
Redford sat up. "Of course they didn't get any damn message. How are we supposed to send a message, and no less they get it if the town is just charred blood and ruble".
Hope crossed her arms. "A town?"
"Yes", the captain answered. "A beautiful town. Well it was a beautiful town. Ianaria. Where I was born. The place was destroyed months ago-"

"By Dianite", Tucker finished off.
"THATS MY HOMIE". Tom screamed in breaking the very peaceful mood of the conversation.
I thew my hand over Hope's watch to muffle the sound.
"Did that clock just talk", The captain asked.
"You know a Dianite", Redford asked. "Don't you"
Sonja sighed. "Sadly".
"Thomas Syndicate", Capsize turned around to look at her brother. "We know about him and he's not a bad person. He helped with the war".
"The war. I knew I had seen the sugar".
Hope held the moars protectively.
"Are you here from Ianite", I asked.
"Yes". The captains confidence went down. "No actually". She looked at the grass, "I was Ianite's General of her Navy until Red and I's parents died. It was hard to stay there".
"She", Red stopped his words before he said something he would regret. "We left".
"Ianite was like a mother to me when our parents died". Capsize continued. "No I was not assigned to save Ianite, but no one else will. There's no one else too".
She looked up at me. Her eyes were pleading. "Your team is our only hope".
"Ok", I said almost manically. I snapped back into reality. "Ok. I would love to help you but I don't have any special directions. No one knows how to save Ianite".
She looked down. "I guess you wouldn't". She put her head in her hands, "I expect so much out of people".
Her brother came over and held her hand.
Everyone was in shock watching her, knowing exactly how she felt. I always remember reading comics and books about worlds like this. It was my stress reliever, my escape, but when your actually fighting in a battle it's a lot more stressful when if your not winning you can't just close the book.
Lighting and thunder cracked in the sky. Hope's blonde pig tails were wiping in her face as the wind picked hiding whatever famous expression she had on her face.
Tom's voice in Hope's watch cracked and turned to static.
The sunny sky turned dark and a grayish purple, and the world fell quiet. Tucker and Sonja looked horrified, but I felt strong. Hope, like usual, looked more curios than scared.

A cloak formed out of smoke, smoldering bright purple fell out of the cloak waving in the wind.
Capsize ran over to the scene almost tripping backwards over the heavy wind.
The clouds parted, showing that the purple smoke was hair.
The wind stopped. Reds face was a whole new type of surprised.
Hope tugged on my pant leg. "Jordan".
A hand feel free from the sleeve of the cloak. Silver bracelets were laid up and down her arms.
"That's exactly how she looks in the history books", Hope continued.
She threw the cloak off still doubling in pain, barely standing up.
Ianites eyes were a bright purple, like the sugar. Her skin was pale and lifeless, but her facial structure was ageless like the other gods. A marble hung from a silver band around her head hanging right in between her eyebrows.
The gown was purple and simplistic, strapless with one green bead at the waist. Green like Hope's speed moar.
She fell, Capsize latching onto her arm and giving her a boost.
She forced her eyes upwards right at me. "Are you it. Are you the follower", then she looked at Hope. "Are you the savior".
She shook her head and pointed at me. "All him-" Hope backed up like she was scared, but she was smiling just as bright as I probably was. "He's the suck up".
Ianite let out a small laugh. Her voice was sharp, but sweet. Melodic, like Sonja's. "I can't speak for long. I am not even here I hate to say, I feel like", she stammered. I never imagined a goddess to stammer. "I feel like a mirage. I feel fake".
Footsteps crashed on the sound as Tom ran up behind us.
"You", he exhaled out of breath. "I will not fail my god". Tom jabbed his dagger at Ianite.
With a flick of her wrist the dagger was on the ground, melting right as Tom whipped his head up at her in shock.
Her sweet voice went stern. "I have let your God abuse me long enough".
Her laugh was no longer small and sweet, it was jagged, not evil, but strong. "What a brave and loyal man. To bad you chose an awful god to run errands for".
Tom opened his mouth but words didn't come out.
"My brother may have once been a good person, but that love was choked out by greed a long, long time ago".
"He can't change", Sonja asked, sounding like Hope. "Can't everyone change?"
Ianite coughed. "I thought once". She looked up at Capsize and Red. "What man would torture his own sister".
"How do we save you", I asked wanting answers more then anything.
"I could save myself", she tried to smile, "I don't want to give you heros trouble. If I had my heart I would be fine".
"Where's your heart!?"
"I feel so empty. My soul, it feels dark, hot", she paused, "Scary".
"Dianites temple", Tucker said with his non-sympathetic, work voice. "We know. Mianite told us".
Ianites laugh went back to sweet. "Of course he did. My brother".
"I must go now", She said. Ianite glanced at us. She looked more pale then she did when she first came. "Trust my brother as much as you can".
And like that she was gone. She just disappeared. No fancy exits, I could guess that was against her.
I turned to the pirates. "What do we do? When do we save her?"
Red sighed. Capsize was just staring at the spot where Ianite disappeared from. "The ship. It needs patched up and I don't think we should get the heart before we have transportation to Ianaria".
"So", Hope asked. I almost forgot she was there.
"So", Red said, "I'll go with the Mianites. You can talk to your God where the heart is".
"We have a friend who has volunteer to help us", Tucker filled in the information. "He built the temple. It will be easy to find the heart".
Capsize walked over. It looked like she recollected herself. "I'll take the Ianites to patch up the ship. The Dianite can help as well". She talked about Tom like he wasn't even there.
She smoothed down her coat. "For now everyone should get some sleep. It will be a long day tomorrow, and hopefully by two days Ianite will have herself back her heart".

The only good goblin is one with a sword sticking out of it, as my father used to say. I tried to incorperate LitRPG elements. I'm only recently introduced to the genre, but I find it really fasinating! So intrigued I even started writing a little story expressing my joy of all things numerical! This story has a focus on hardwork and deliberate progression, no magical deus ex machinas here sorry.

A Cleric's Life for me.
This is a casually written story loosely based on TTRPG games like DnD and Pathfinder. The attempt of the story is to have a slow growth in power and comical set of characters who eventually grow close and set off for more serious adventures. There will be plenty of familiars and funny tales that don't involve combat. The intention is not to be a goody-two-shoes cleric story where nothing bad happens. The intention for this story was a slow paced grungy story where everything seemed great at first and things just kept getting worse. I learned how shitty of a story that is to write and honestly I am just not good enough to get the idea down. I plan on revisiting it later.
