*flashback to the first time they were introduced to their home*

I abhorrently stepped out of our car. Dillon and Zach followed me too. I was only as tall as them even though I am older than them. "Home sweet home." I scoffed. I heard the boys chuckle at that. I smiled back trying not to laugh. "You guys, stop for a minute." My mom said. We all stopped at our steps and looked back at her. "If you want to look at the church over there, you ask me first. Okay?" We all nodded our heads. "What if dad comes back?" Dillon asked abundantly. "No one can find us here. We are safe together." I put my head down and frowned. She walked up to me and lifted up my head with her hand. "Delilah. You don't have to worry, okay? I won't let anyone touch you." I very slightly nodded. We all picked up our bags and suitcases and started to the door.

I was first to open the door and look inside. The house smelled of new books and dew. That made me smile just a bit. Zach and Dillon pushed passed me to pick out their room. I walked around to get to know the house a bit. The living room looked dusty and old. The kitchen was clean, though. I finally made my way upstairs. I had to put my bed in Dillons room, since there were only 4 rooms, including a bathroom and moms room. I put my mattress on the floor on the corner next to our dresser. I covered it in my sheets and my blankets. Home sweet home.
