Ijeoma's POV
Wedding Night
My heart did a little backflip as soon as our pre-booked guesthouse came into view. Noah and I decided to spend our wedding night and honeymoon at a guesthouse. It wasn't what Noah exactly had in mind but I felt it wasn't economical and reasonable to fly out to an exotic destination, only to rush back for both Zozo's and I's school resumption.
Noah really didn't mind but I just couldn't allow it. He was a really economical person but when it came to Zozo and me, he always wanted to go all out.
It took three months to plan both our traditional and white wedding which was a two-day affair. The traditional first and the white wedding the next. Noah and I didn't want to put off the wedding for too long, left to Noah alone, we would've headed to a court the day after the proposal.
My parents were back at our house helping us watch Zozo for the time we'd be away, probably a week. I can't bear to be away from Zozo for too long, I had just got her back and I guess having her taken away from me really messed with me mentally.
We did stop at the house first to drop Zozo off, she had ridden in the car with us. I also got to change out of my wedding gown and into an off white jumpsuit which was far less constraining and flamboyant. Noah also changed into a black and white striped shirt and black shorts.
We didn't look like people who just got married.
"We're here" the hired driver announced
"Thank you" I said and moved to open the car door but Noah stopped me.
"Don't do that" he quickly got out of the car, walked over to my side, and pulled the door open for me.
"You know I can open the door by myself, right?" I said as I stepped out of the car
"I do. It's just for today" he said
I chuckled. "Okay"
The guesthouse was courtesy of parents. My dad was not completely comfortable with Noah footing the bills of both weddings. He insisted on paying for the guesthouse on our behalf in order to get some sense of peace and contentment.
It was a plain grey bungalow protected by a black gate. There were outstanding features that made the building stand out, no plants or trees, just a moderate parking space for one car within the compound.

I unlocked the front door, stepped in, and turned the lights on. Noah took the liberty of bringing our luggage which was two duffel bags.
The interior appearance of the house was a complete contrast from the exterior. The ambiance, blue and white fluorescent lights, cream plush sofas, and the entire set up of the living room alone was a far cry from the monochromic, dull vibe it gave at the onset.
Although, the living room looked more like a bachelor pad it didn't matter. It wasn't like we were going to be living there for far more than necessary. While Noah located our bedroom, I decided to explore the place.
I got quick glance at the small kitchen, the two rooms, toilet, and bathroom. I was surprised to find the fridge fully stocked with the very essential items like water, breakfast food, snacks, Indomie noodle packs, and so on. I had a feeling my sister did the stocking because I didn't find plastic containers of already made soups.
"This place is actually nice" I announced
"Yeah, it is" Noah said emerging from the bedroom
"It could be used as a getaway spot, you know" I said running my eyes over the place.
"Yeah, if you want to get away but not too away" Noah inputted
"It feels a little too quiet, though" I pointed out
"I know right. We're used to Zozo being right around the corner" he walked over to one of the sofas and sank in.
"What should we do now?" I asked. "Do we watch a movie or something?"
Noah raised a brow. "You want to watch a movie?"
"Yeah, I guess" I said not really seeing his point
"On our wedding night?" he added
"Ohh" I muttered as the realization hit me. "We're supposed to be going at it like animals on heat"
Noah chuckled. "You make it sound like it's an obligation"
I chuckled lightly and walked over where he was sat and placed myself next to him
"I just feel like being intimate on the wedding night has been made into some kind of unspoken rule and if you don't, it's almost like you didn't complete the ceremony." I poured out.
"I just don't want our first time to be obligatory. I don't want it to feel like it has to happen because it's our wedding night" I said.

"Do you get what I'm trying to say? Or am I being selfish, I mean you did wait for me" I slowly started to panic. "If you don't, we can—"
"Calm down. I understand" Noah said sensing my panic.
I released a sigh and then a nervous chuckle.
"I want our first time to be something we both want to happen and not something we think should happen. I want to feel THE moment if that makes any sense"
Noah smiled. "You're the only woman who'd make her husband remain celibate on their wedding night"
I laughed. "You've waited all these while, what's one more night. Besides you love me so much"
"That I do" he planted a kiss on my cheek
I chuckled and rose from the sofa. "I'm going to take a shower. In the meantime, pick something interesting. Okay?"
"Sure" I heard him say as I walked into the bedroom.

The next morning
I gently placed a frying pan that was found in one of the cupboards on the cooker. I was moving as quietly as possible in order not to wake Noah who was still asleep in the bedroom. We didn't even last up to an hour watching the movie before retiring to bed, the wedding ceremony sucked up most of our energy.
I woke up this morning with the need to make breakfast for both of us, you know, to be romantic. Despite my lack of cooking skills, I was more than able to put together a simple breakfast of toasted bread, fried eggs, and tea.
I carefully whisked the eggs in its bowl and then poured them into the hot pan. It didn't take long before the eggs were ready to be served. I was in the middle of taking out the last batch of toasted bread when Noah's morning deep voice rang through the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" He stood in the doorway rubbing his eyes, wearing nothing but his sleeping pants.
I jerked out of fear since I didn't hear his footfalls all the way from the bedroom. Or maybe I was too engrossed in getting breakfast ready.
"You scared me" I said with a hand on my chest
He gave me a small smile. "Sorry"
"Morning, wife" he added, then walked towards me and placed a chaste kiss on my lips.
"Good morning, husband" I said with a wide smile on my face.
I turned around and gestured to the food lined up on the counter "I decided to make breakfast"
"I can see that" he said hugging me from behind.
The feeling of his warm, toned chest against my back and the smell of his natural scent floating around me was giving me mild amnesia. I had no idea what I was about to do next anymore.
"Uhm... what's left is... tea" I said
"Kay" he pulled away and I suddenly felt cold. "Is there hot water?"
"Yeah" I pointed to the electric kettle. "And teacups are in that overhead cupboard"
As he moved around the kitchen in regards to making a cup of tea, I found myself watching him intently. The kitchen had suddenly gotten warmer and I could feel my cheeks picking the heat. My eyes raked over him like I just realized I had this hunk of a man all to myself.
It wasn't like I hadn't seen him shirtless before now, we practically lived together for months but the feeling was just different today. Maybe it was because I could actually act on my hormones without feeling like a sinner.
Noah took a sip of his tea and once I caught sight of the movement of his Adam apple, I knew I had had it.
"Noah" I called out
"Hmm" he looked at me, completely oblivious.
"I think I feel the moment" I blurted out
It took him a second to understand what I meant.
"You do?" he gently placed his cup on the counter and slowly approached me till we were touching. Body to body.
I nodded with a shy smile. "Yeah"
"Say less" he whispered
I let out a sudden squeal as he lifted me unto him from my thighs so that I was straddling him. I wrapped my arms around his neck so I didn't fall back.
"Let's get this party started," He said as he walked towards the bedroom.
