Chapter 61 : The Final War Part 4
Wu Qingge held both Liu Xiao's arms and gently pulled him closer to avoid the crystallized pillar that was about to collapse.
Liu Xiao was still in a daze after his grandpa told him everything on how they died. Turns out, that old palace master was a shallow and selfish person that only want to rise to the highest place and use countless innocent lives as a stepping stone to climb up. How outrageous, he thought.
You are strong and known enough and just because people ridiculed you about the falae Legend of the Sea King, you're gonna kill them by opening the underworld gate and lettong the demon king escape?! Much worse is there were also countless innocent people who did nothing to you! How low is the IQ of this old man villain?!
If you are weak, then become stronger! If you have no knowledge, then study! If you don't look good like others, then let it be! What good is being drowned by envious?! Being insecure just because there's a flaw in yourself that the others doesn't is just nonesense.
When i was back in my mortal world, my mother would always compare me to my brothers and cousins about their body, achievement and looks but so what?! Does it mean that i have to change for the better too? For people to like me? Such nonesense. Even if my parents wants to throw me in the river so bad, i won't care about them.
And that's when i found novels. Novels are the only therapy i have in the cruel reality and it was the only thing that taught me things that i don't understand. When i found the novel "The Black Book", it was the first time i found a protagonist so perfect to the point that even if his parents were to saw him who he is right now, they would end up speechless because he shines brighter than the others.
Wu Qingge was strong, handsome, smart, kind, hard working and many more things you will discover on him that makes him even more perfect. He was the real peerless of them all. The incomparable protagonist in the novels that i have read. The scars he received from the past will made him even stronger and the nasty words of the people who always mocked him brought them their own demise. If you wasn't able to be like the best protagonist like him, then atleast be the best version of yourself.

That's what the original "Liu Xiao" should have planted on his mindset on the day that he met Wu Qingge back at the Mount Hua Peak. Insecurities can drive people mad but it was because you let yourself drown in it, it was all your fault on the first place. If what your mindset all think about is "i wish i could be like this", "i wish i could be like that", then change it into "i will make myself like this", and "i will make myself like that". Don't just wish to achieve things you don't have, work hard to achieve them because remaining yourself to be envious doesn't solve anything.
Haha... But i'm not that kind of person. I'm lazy as fuck. I'm fine as myself so i don't need to change for the better, i don't feel insecure about other people either way. It's fine to just to look at them from afar anf stan them secretly.
Liu Xiao realized that he was staring at Wu Qingge all the time and immediately looked away and cleared his throat. Wu Qingge stared at him with a grin on his face,
Liu Xiao glanced at him with a deadpan face.
Wu Qingge grinned even more.
Liu Xiao sped up and saw a crystallized stairs that will lead on the second floor of the palace. He left Wu Qingge behind who was looking at him with a wide grin on his face. There's a fucking war and we're flirting at a time like this...
He unsheated his sword and called Huangtian who was pecking on the crystallized debris using it's pointed beak. The mythical bird walked towards his direction and tilted it's head. Liu Xiao paused on his words and cursed himself.
The mythical bird let out a growl and flew upwards, it spreaded it's large fiery wings and spread a red orange spiritual qi around it's body, slowly expanding and squeezing it's enormous size inside the floating palace. The crystallized walls slowly collapsed and exploded, Huangtian then spread it's wings again and let out a loud soaring roar.
On the other hand, on the outer area infront of the floating palace gates, Mo Xian and the others stared at the giant bird with a shocked expression, his hands that was slightly red and bleeding by playing the large harp paused as he uttered a word,
Tian Lang frowned at the gigantic bird that was spreading out it's wings widely and letting out a roar while it burned all the demons in sight. He stared at the mythical bird in a puzzled expression,

Chen Yi on the other side with Bai Lan, Lan Yang and Shan Ling saw the bird and let out a sigh of relief then smiled. she spread put her palms and moved it a circling motion, a yellow spiritual qi at the center surfaced and when it was enough, Chen Yi raised her both hands and the yellow spiritual energy at the center bursted and rose, making a gigantic chrysanthemum shaped flower in mid air.
Tian Lang, Mo Xian, Su Luxia and Zhan Baiwon glanced at Chen Yi next when she made a large yellow chrysanthemum flower. They noticed that the mythical bird who destroyed the floating palace glanced at the yellow chrysanthemum flower and let out a roar, the bird then flew upwards and approached Chen Yi and the otger's direction.
Mo Xian was worried that the mythical bird might attack theit disciples and readied his bleeding fingers on the strings of the harps but what he saw next made his eyes widened and his mouth slightly opened.
Liu Xiao was riding at the back of the soaring mythical bird with Wu Qingge behind him hugging tightly. The four peak masters were astounded and stood stiffly on their position as they stared at the mythical bird slowly shrunk itself while Liu Xiao and Wu Qingge landed on tue crystallized floor of the floating palace.
Chen Yi nodded.
Shan Ling pulled her away at Wu Qingge using her whip and hugged the struggling Chen Yi tightly while she giggled.
Mo Xian stood up and the large beautiful harp returned into his neck and transformed into a beautiful silver neckless with a small harp embedded at the center. He approached Liu Xiao and nodded at Wu Qingge then stared at the mythical bird beside Liu Xiao.
Liu Xiao guiltily looked away and didn't answer so Bai Lan at the back was the one who answered instead.
Mo Xian showed a slightly shocked expression.
Liu Xiao didn't answered again so Bai Lan was the one who answered instead,
Mo Xian's shocked face turned into a deep frown. Mo Xian said calmly.
Liu Xiao shook his head to refuse and Mo Xian sighed heavily. Liu Xiao shook his head again so Mo Xian turned at Wu Qingge and gestured him to atleast persuade Liu Xiao to got back to the Peak. The man only shrugged and shook his head, saying that Liu Xiao was too stubborn.
Mo Xian sighed in surrender and was about to say something when the old palace master suddenly spoke.
All of them glanced suspiciously at the old palace master who was still standing still while countless demons continuously went out of the giant underworld gate portal. Wu Qingge just took a quick glance on him and proceeded to stare at Liu Xiao again. Mo Xian turned around to face the old palace master's direction and begged,
The old palace master shifted his gaze on Mo Xian and replied calmly,
Zhan Baiwon slided his both sabers rapidly while the pitch black spiritual qi danced and followed his fast pace, the demons who were attacking were all sliced and their lifeless cold bodies feel on the with a loud thud. Zhan Baiwon shook his bith sabers to remove the blood stained on it's blade and yelled at the old palace master.
The old palace master's serene expression turned into anger as he shifted his gaze on Zhan Baiwon's direction. the old palace master raised his hand and a silver crystals spinned around and swayed on the corner of his fingertips, with a thrice wave of his hand, the silver crystals spread around all the bodies of the dead demons, arising them from the dead without their consciousness.
Su Luxia who was humming endlessly in mid air and blasting away the demons with her white surging waves of spiritual qi stopped, muttering a word.
Bai Lan frowned.
Mo Xian replied,
Liu Xiao glanced at the demons who were awaken back from the dead. Their bodies were all covered in silver crystallines and their eyes doesn't have a pupil, every move of them made a clinging sound that came from the silver crystals and it looks like they were only just a puppet controlled by the strings.
Mo Xian continued,
Liu Xiao rasied his brows and tilted his head in curiosity.
Mo Xian:
Liu Xiao's face soured. Ew! That old man ate fucking crystals on the cultivation process?! S-Should i try to ask him what it the taste is like?
Before the others could think of anything, a black lotus flower suddenly went out of Wu Qingge's body followed by a white figure that suddenly went out of the jewel on Liu Xiao's forehead, the both of them slowly transforming into an old man and looking at the old palace master with bloodshot eyes.
The Former Mount Hua Peak Master spoke with bitterness.
Liu Xiao's grandpa said with sarcasm.
The old palace master glanced at them and the corner if his fingets twitched.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
