《Dark Lord》Chapter 6

Jin stared at the ceiling, his eyes unwilling to close. What was going on with him? When one hour had passed and he still wasn't asleep, he gave up, and decided to go out.
As he walked out of his house, he stared at the sky filled with stars, through the branches of the trees, and the moon that accompanied them. He found it amazing that they were able to shine so bright when everything else was dark.
As he climbed onward, he finally reached the top of the mountain. He laid down in the soft grass, his hands under his head. He stared at the nights sky, wondering about so many things.
As much as he wanted to deny it, he couldn't stop thinking about Wu Luiyin. The truth was hidden in his heart, but he didn't want to find it. He felt like he had already knew how this was going to end like, but he still couldn't his curiousness.
He brought his hand up towards the moon. He knew a story, one that was passed on for generations, and told as a famous love story. Everyone knew about it.
There was a story about how the sun and moon was created. It was said that the sun was a beautiful girl and the moon was a young handsome man. The girl was the youngest daughter of the Jade Emperor, and the man was a poor villager.
They were said to meet when the girl came down from the heavens to take the goddess trail. She had met the young man and fallen in love with him. When it was time for her to go back to the heavens, she didn't want to. For she had already fallen too deeply in love with the man.
The man too, was deeply in love with the girl.

When the Jade Emperor heard of the news that his daughter had fallen in love with a mortal, he was angered. He poured lightning and thunder from the sky, expressing his anger.
It was forbidden for someone from the heavens to fall in love with a mortal.
When his daughter wouldn't come no matter what he did, he separated them. He turned the girl into the sun and the man into the moon. No matter what they did, they could only see each other from a distance, never to touch each other. They suffered from their love, for it was something forbidden by the heavens.
It was said that once a year, they would be able to meet only once. After that, they would spend their days, rising and falling, seeing each other, only to remember they could never be together.
There was also a story about how the stars were formed. The stars were said to be the tears of the moon. The moon saddened that he had lost the love of his life, would softly cry, while looking at the sun from a distance. The legend was said that after time, the sun gradually lost her memories.
The moon was saddened by this the most. When the sun no longer knew who he was, he scattered his tears across the sky, to accompany him on his lonely day and nights.
There were many other tales from old times, but these two were Jin's favorites.
Through these, he learnt that nothing good can last forever. That's why he doesn't like opening up to someone new. He pushed himself up off the ground and decided to head back.
The Emperor raised his hands and put them against his forehead.
"You may all leave." The Emperor ordered.
Everyone in the room hurried out. They knew that something big was going to happen and didn't want to be here when the Emperor unleashes his fury.

Wu Luiyin was left, looking at his cup of wine. For a second, he had saw Jin's face in the drink. He shook his head, thinking that he must've been to drunk.
"Father, what are you going to do?" Wu Luiyin asked, as he raised his head towards his father.
The Emperor sighed, a frown hanging off his face. "For now, we will wait. Although Shadow Sect is powerful, they have never bothered with politic. Why should they start now?"
The Empress took the Emperor's hand into her own, and gave him a reassuring smile.
"If they do, we can only try to fight our way through. If this nation falls, it will fall in grace, and be known for its courage." The Emperor said, as he looked towards his wife.
Excusing himself, Wu Luiyin hurriedly left. As he entered his courtyard, he found that someone was already in there. When he stepped into his bed chamber, Ru Lian sat there with a smile.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, his tone quite dangerous.
Ru Lian's body shook from his voice. But even so, she wouldn't back down.
"Why didn't you take me to the party your Father had planned?" She asked, her voice raising with each word.
"Do I have to? Remember that though we are married, you would never be able to order me around. Just because you hold the status of being my wife, it doesn't mean that you are above me. I was able to tolerate it for so long, but since the moment you have stepped into this place, you have changed drastically. You are no longer the pure and kind girl I thought you were, and if one day, I find out that you have done something wrong, I wouldn't hesitate to leave you. Without me, you will never be able to hold onto all the things in your possession. So remember well, before you raise your voice against me." Wu Luiyin spoke as his eyes got darker with every word.
Who did she think she was to raise her voice against him? He must've lost it to never notice how he had been treated after all he did for her.
"Now get out of my chamber."
Ru Lian could only huff and walk out the chamber.
As she left, Wu Luiyin had finally made his decision.
He was going to bring him here, no matter what.
