《Dark Lord》Chapter 11

Jin sat on the stool. His eyes looked cloudy as he stared at the door.
Three months have passed like a blink of an eye, but to Jin, it was endless torture. Ru Lian was almost five months pregnant. Jin knew well too. He knew that the love Wu Luiyin once had for him was slowly disappearing.
During those three months, Wu Luiyin had only come and visit him three times. One for every month. Jin didn't blame him. He knew that he couldn't give Wu Luiyin a child, and that Wu Luiyin needed children.
But even though Wu Luiyin has turned his back on him, he still loved him. Everyday, he stared at the door, hoping to see Wu Luiyin enter, and everyday, he was left with lost hope.
Within this big place, it felt like he was being trapped. He felt scared. Scared that one day, Wu Luiyin would abandon him and leave him. Wu Luiyin didn't care about him anymore. He only cared about his other consort and his soon-to-be child.
But why? Why did it hurt so much? Love is beautiful. But as soon as the other no longer loves you, you would go through an endless pain.
"Consort Jin, your meal has arrived." The new maid, Xi Yu said.
Because Wu Luiyin was no longer by his side, he had taken in a maid. She was helpful and he trusted her. She also helped to feel the hole of being the only person in this place.
"I don't feel like eating today." Jin said, not letting his eyes turn away from the door.
"Please, Consort, you have to eat. You have lost so much weight and have become even paler than you use to be." Xi Yu pleaded.
"Take it away." Jin ordered.

"Yes, consort." Xi Yu stopped.
She knew that the consort was not going to change his answer. She worried for him. She knew that it was all because of the Crown Prince's fault that Consort Jin was going through this. She resented the Crown Prince and Consort Ru.
Consort Jin was a beauty to behold. But during this time, although his beauty had not diminish, the beauty in his eyes did. It pained Xi Yu to watch as he slowly faded away.
She slowly walked out as she returned to the kitchen to out the food away. As she returned, she quietly stood behind the consort.
Just then, another maid barged through the door as she announced,"Crown Princess Ru has arrived."
Ru Lian walked through, holding her stomach as she smiled.
Jin rushed and got on his knee. Ever since Ru Lian was pregnant, she had risen to be the Crown Princess. This meant that she was the Wu Luiyin's official wife snd would be the Empress when the Wu Luiyin became the Emperor.
"This consort greets Crown Princess Ru." Jin said.
Xi Yu also bowed and said her greeting.
"You may rise," Ru Lian said as she raised her hand at them.
"Xi Yu, prepare some tea for Crown Princess Ru." Jin said to Xi Yu.
"Yes, Consort." Xi Yu said, bowing before setting down a few cups and pouring tea into them.
"May this consort ask for the reason that Crown Princess Ru has come to this consort's place." Jin asked Ru Lian.
Ru Lian hid her smirk behind her cup of tea. She had come here today in order to finish her plan.
"This Crown Princess had come today to see if the consort is getting use to this place." Ru Lian said, setting down her cup of tea and looked carefully before secretly placing something in it, then waited a few seconds before lifting it up again.

"It seems like the consort has been living well. Since you seem to be fine, this Crown Princess will leave now." Ru Lian took a quick sip from the cup and set it down as a maid helped her up and out of the door.
Jin stared at the door, watching as Ru Lian left and then closed his eyes. Just then a loud scream was heard, and a shout followed it.
"Help! The Crown Princess has fainted."
Jin on a stool, and watched as the doctor checked Ru Lian. He didn't know what had happened. He just heard a few scream.
Wu Luiyin sat on the bed next to Ru Lian, holding onto her hand. Jin watched this scene, filled with immense pain.
"Doctor, what happened to Ru Lian?" Wu Luiyin asked.
"It seems like the Crown Princess has been poisoned. This type of poison is mostly put in food and drinks. It slowly weakens that person and they would die, making it seem like a natural death. Because there were too much amount of the poison, it acted faster than it should have, making us alert of this. The Crown Princess and her child will be safe." The doctor said.
Wu Luiyin signed in relief. He couldn't lose his first child. Then he turned his head to the Ru Lian's maid.
"What was the last thing the Crown Princess ate, and where did you get it from?" Wu Luiyin asked.
"The Crown Princess drunk tea, and this was from Consort Jin's place." The maid answered, her eyes glinted for a short second then disappeared.
Jin sensed that he was in trouble and immediately bowed, pleading to Wu Luiyin, knowing full well that it wouldn't work. Jin knew that Wu Luiyin had hardly any love for him anymore and wouldn't choose to believe him. Even if he wasn't the one that poisoned Ru Lian, it was still from his courtyard. It was his fault for not checking everything.
"This consort didn't poison the Crown Princess." Jin said, hitting the ground with his head a few times, trickles of blood flowed down.
"The poison was from your place. How can you deny that you did not poison her?" Wu Luiyin said, his eyes a dark color.
Even if he loved Jin, he had tried to harm his own child. How can he pardon this?
"Guards, take Consort Jin to the prison. I will personally interrogate him." Wu Luiyin ordered.
Two guards came, and led Jin into the prison.
Jin didn't scream nor did he try to plead for himself.
As he sat on the cold hard floor, locked behind bars, he closed his eyes.
He gave up.
It was his mistake to finally let himself fall in love.

(Dropped) Crown of the martyr and martyr of the Crown.
An undisputed being sits upon his throne, the Crown of damnation adorning his head. One gaze enough to make gods tremble, and one wave of his hand enough to make the mightiest of demons flee. An unfathomable cataclysm will surely arrive when such a being is slain and grasps another chance to walk among the living. This is a story of a monarch more ancient than time itself defying the absolution of death in his eternal strive to accomplish his primordial goal. And the Crown gazes on ravenously, its curse awaiting its next martyr. --- Story with an overpowered mc who still thinks with his brain, not muscles. I believe I put my own twist on the reincarnation trope. The story is mostly told from third person view with mc’s perspective. New chapters are released 3 times a week. --- This is an updated synopsis after requests from viewers. --- I do not own the cover picture.
