《Dark Lord》Chapter 20

RuJin lifted his hand up, and immense power flew from it, breaking the barrier and shooting out to the sky. It disappeared and became a symbol.
The symbol of the Dark Lord.
In less than one second, the whole sky was covered in darkness. The sound of wildlife couldn't be heard, the air stiffened, even the wind had stopped. The whole world seemed to stop as they took in the new sense of power.
The first change that happened to RuJin was the black magic that seemed to seep from him, surrounding all of him. And then, the features on his face began changing.
Everything about him changed, his hair, his eyes, his appearance, the mark on his face, reverting back to how he looked when he was the Dark Lord.
(RuJin, Dark Lord)
He won't deny, he liked how he use to look much better. Because he was able to feel that this was him, and that he wasn't someone else. Most of all, it reminded RuJin of him.
RuJin's eyes traveled around, a cold smile on his face, as he stood in midair.
"It feels nice to finally be back. And it is nice to meet you all again, Ran Yu, Qu Ren, Li Shao, Lan Chen, and Jiang Mun."
They were all elders from the biggest sects, they were powerful. But that wasn't what made RuJin look at them. It was because in his head, the image of them and more were surrounding a man, encircling him before he fell, blood dripping endlessly from him.
He will never forgive them for what they had done, he can never forgive them.
"D-Dark Lord." Ran Yu said, unable to believe if what he saw was real,
"I have to say, the seal you all put on me was a hassle. It took me quite a long time to break it. If it weren't for that seal, I wouldn't have forgotten my memories." RuJin said, his hand finally coming down, his symbol still in the air.

It was an alert to all dark cultivators, and most of all, to his comrades. It was to say that he had finally come back.
Dark Lord.
Who hasn't heard of that name?
The name that brought even more fear than Shadow Sect, the name that went down in history. They said that he was finally killed after losing his lover, and that to make sure he never came back, they sealed his soul. The five sects also put another seal on him.
It was said that the Dark Lord was so powerful, he could even bring himself back to life, and if he couldn't, he would still be reborn. In order to stop this, they sealed his memories, so that even if he were to be reborn, he would forget all of his memories.
But this happened more than twenty years ago.
Why would he be back now?
RuJin looked at the crowd, looking at all the new faces. Princes, and princesses, everything has changed by quite a lot.
As he clenched his hand, he looked up at the sky. It has been so long since he had seen this symbol. That symbol that signified him.
"SiWang." RuJin muttered underneath his breath.
Soon, the sound of something moving fast in the air was heard. A dark energy was sensed as it stopped right in front of RuJin.
The sword in front of him moved, following his command. This sword was the sword that had accompanied him since the beginning of everything. The sword that was dulled with blood.
(SiWang, Sword of Death)
As he held his sword in his hand, he smiled. Who knew how many people had fell under this sword?
"A warning to all of you! I give you time to prepare for battle. But this time, I will not be the one to fall, this time my blood will not be the one to run! I will not hold back. It was for the sake of him that I held back, but it was also you so-called righteous people, who killed him! Prepare for your upcoming doom!"

RuJin said, not bothering to turn around again, as he then vanished.
As he stepped foot into a pavilion, he sighed. This place held so many memories.
At that second, a voice was heard.
"Xue Yi greets the Lord."
RuJin looked at the man, nodding his head before walking past him.
Xue Yi was one of the generals that he had commanded. After his disappearance, his army of dark cultivators were all hidden.
RuJin stepped into his bedroom, taking a deep breath. Putting his sword down on the table.
His eyes traveled the room that once held two people, memories flashed back as his eyes twinged with the slightest hint of sadness.
As he walked farther into his bedroom, his steps led him towards the guqin that sat on the table, covered in dust.
His hands grabbed the guqin, as his fingers trailed the strings. His eyes held remembrance.
So many memories lingered in this room. So many moments that made the cold hearted him happy. Everything was perfect once.
But as he stood in this room, he could only feel pain.
He remembered those few moments where the Dark Lord was forgotten, replaced by a normal man. He remembered when he could smile, as his eyes looked at the love of his life. Everything disappeared in the blink of an eye.
When could love really be understood?
Was this the punishment for the path that he had decided to take?
If it was, why would they decide to take someone else and not him to repay for his crimes?
Maybe the heavens wanted him to be punished like this. Wanted him to live while knowing that because of him, his love suffered.
Even so, RuJin still held onto the tiny hope that he was still alive. Even if it was just this, he still wanted to hold onto this thought.
"ShuYan, will you still come back?"

(可念不可說 by 倫桑 & 蕭憶情)
If everything that's beautiful could have a happy ending,
Would there still be legends circulating in this world?
As a flying moth, if one doesn't dare to throw oneself into the flames,
What can this destiny rely on as means of becoming majestic?
Like soft bright silk suddenly becoming entangled,
Like shackles, dressed in gold and wrapped with jade,
Like the snowflakes falling down while fluttering.
Everything beautiful has to live while walking towards death.
If love could truly be understood, it would be after loneliness.
Having forgotten both the causes and the consequences.
The persistence of sticking it out through hardships, an illusory promise.
Meaninglessly using up so much of this youth.

Meaninglessly using up so much of this youth.
Faltering and stumbling through the months and years,
Passing by and missing each other in every reincarnation.
I am the one who was left forgotten.
A familiar silhouette, appearing blurred to my tearful eyes.
Can only be gazed at, never being able to touch.
Love can be thought of, but not be spoken of.
