《Dark Lord》Chapter 22

"It seems that more disciples from Tian Sect has been killed."
"Who else could have done it but the Dark Lord. From the moment he had risen, his target has mostly been the Tian Sect."
"He is powerful, if only he was a righteous cultivator, the Five Nations would become even more powerful."
"Don't say those words! Don't you know that the Dark Lord would kill anyone who says those word? A young man once said those words and the next day, he was found dead. His head had been sliced off."
"Even so, it is a shame."
(ShuYan, age 21)
ShuYan lifted his cup of wine as he listened to the old men talk.
Three years ago, he had left after being in a seclusion only to find that everyone in the village had been killed. He later found out that his village held dark energy in it.
Ever since then, he had been traveling everywhere to find RuJin. He didn't believe that someone like him would be pulled to the dark side.
He set down his cup of wine as he grabbed his sword, and left the small restaurant.
After all these years, he was at the Gold Rank Level 9. He was about to break through, but he still needed that last push before he could.
Two years ago, the name Dark Lord had spread. People said that he was powerful, but most of all cruel. He was known as the most powerful dark cultivator who was still alive.
He softly sighed as he set out back to the sect.
While walking, many thoughts ran through his mind.
If he hadn't left six year ago, maybe now he could've been by RuJin's side.
"Lord, we found another assassin. What do you want to do to him?" Xue Yi, one of the Dark Lord's General asked, holding down a man dressed in black.

A young man sat on the throne that overlooked the whole hall. Clothed fully in black, a menacing sword was in his hands as he twirled the sword around.
He turned his cold eyes to look towards Xue Yi, a shiver ran down Xue Yi's back.
His emotionless eyes merely landed on the man that was being held down, as he quietly searched him.
"A disciple from Tian Sect, yet again. A shame that the people they pick are always so weak." A cold voice surrounding the area, his voice held extreme power.
RuJin moved his hands softly, looking at the man that was sent to hell's door.
"Transform his energy in dark energy, then feed his body to the Dissolving Pond." RuJin looked at the arrogant look in the disciple's eyes.
Even now, he still thought of himself as being high and mighty. A shame that the man he had chosen to kill wasn't as weak as he thought.
"Yes, Lord." Xue Yi said his farewells as he dragged the body of the young man with him.
RuJin leaned back on his chair, his mind unfathomable.
His long fingers gently tapped his sword as he stood up. His feet gently stepped down, as he walked out of the room, the doors closing behind him.
This year, the Sect's competition had come once again. It would be a shame if he didn't attend, wouldn't it be?
"Shao Yao, Ling Xin." RuJin called out.
As his voice was heard, two popped popped out from behind him. They were both dressed in black, but their structures were different. Shao Yao was taller by 5 centimeters and his body had more muscles than Ling Xin.
Ling Xin was more on the lean side, and he was shorter when compared to Shao Yao.

"Yes, Lord?" They both said in unison.
"I will be gone for the time being. If anything is to happen while I am gone, you both know what you have to do." RuJin said as he left them, walking towards his bedroom.
"Yes, Lord."
Shao Yao watched as his master walked towards his bedroom.
Two years ago, his master had found him while he was on the brink of death. His master had saved his life, and to repay him, he dedicated his life to him.
On that day, he was being chased by strangers, who had said something about dark energy.
After six months of being by his master's side, they found Ling Xin. Ling Xin too, had become one of his master's followers.
RuJin entered his room, setting down his sword, as he opened his closet. He put on a black robe, covered in gold, then grabbed the white mask that sat on his table. After putting it on, he grabbed a gold fan.
Then, he teleported himself out of his palace, and towards LouXu, the place of Mian Sect.
Mian Sect. The place that ShuYan had become a disciple of. Even now, he hadn't stopped blaming ShuYan. If, if he was truthful to his words, his mother and sister would still be by him.
On that day, he changed. Emotions were something he had given up on. He had chosen a path that was the opposite of ShuYan's. He and ShuYan were now the opposite of each other.
Righteous? It depends on what you thought of as right.
Just like how evil depends on what you think of as evil.
As he arrived at the Gates of LanXu, he entered. Walking towards the city that was close to the palace, he stopped. He didn't think that there would be so much people here.
As he entered and stood, he watched the first battle after squeezing through and finally getting through to the front.
ShuYan sat on a chair, watching the first battle between Tian Sect and Yang Sect.
He was one of the three disciples selected from Mian Sect to represent their Sect. Along with them was his master, Li Shao.
The first battle was between, Yu Nian from Tian Sect, and Qu Ren from Yang Sect.
RuJin's eyes traveled all the disciples that had come to this competition. As he softly fanned himself, his eyes landed on ShuYan.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
