《Dark Lord》Chapter 23

Maybe. Just maybe in those cold eyes of his, a flicker of emotion made its way through before it disappeared, fading back to nothing.
Everything has changed, this is something that he must not forget.
RuJin eyes refocused, shifting away from ShuYan's body, and instead watched the battle.
ShuYan felt a shock run through his body as he looked around, stopping on a man dressed in a black robe with a mask on his face and a fan in his hands. He stared at him, noticing his pale skin and his bright red lips, and those cold eyes of his.
As he stared at that man, he couldn't help but feel this familiarity with him. But that was impossible, wasn't it?
RuJin had implanted his own people into each of the five sects, all of them were here. Although, the only target he had in mind was Tian Sect, there were also some people here who he could also target. After all, they weren't innocent either.
His fingers traced his fan, pulling a poisonous needle from it as he spotted his first target.
Yu Nian, 23 year old. A cultivator at Gold Rank Level 2 from Tian Sect. He was the adopted son of the sect leader of Tian Sect, Tian Zhu. He was not a stranger to killing innocent people. He was the one who led the attack on Ling Xin and his village.
With a flick of his finger, the needle went flying at the speed of light, and hitting Yu Nian on the side of his neck.
Yu Nian, who had been occupied with defeating his opponent, noticed the needle only when it was too late to dodge. As the needle hit him on the side of his neck, his knees buckled down as he let out a horrifying scream while his hands clenched his neck.

"Assassin!!!"
All the sect elders and disciples got onto their feet, jumping down to see what was going on.
RuJin watched as everyone raced away from the scene, trampling over each other, leaving him and a few others left. In less than five minutes, the area had been cleared out at the sound of the scream.
Shi Si, Xi Ting, Bai Pian, Cao Lou, and Ti Wei looked towards RuJin.
Shi Si was the spy in Tian Sect, Xi Ting was from Mian Sect, Bai Pian was from Heaven's Sect, Cao Lou was from Bazu Sect, and Ti Wei was from Yang Sect.
At this moment, Yu Nian was coughing out endless streams of blood. An elder from Tian Sect, Qu Ren, tried to stop the poison from spreading, passing his Qi throughout Yu Nian's body in an attempt to stop the poison.
"It was him. He was the one who poisoned Senior Yu Nian. He shot a needle towards him. I saw it with my own eyes!"
A disciple from Tian Sect pointed towards RuJin, as she frantically screamed.
RuJin only hid his smirk behind his fan, calmly watching as she put on a scene.
ShuYan looked towards that direction, his eyes landing on the same person he was looking at. Confusion spoke through his brows, as he looked towards his master, Li Shao.
Li Shao looked at the young lad in front of him, who seemed cold and threatening. As he tried to peer into him more, he noticed that he couldn't sense a single shred of Qi in him. Li Shao looked at the man longer, finally giving up when he couldn't find anything out.
"Xun Li, what do you mean?" Qu Ren spoke, finally seeming to put a stop to the poison that had begun to run through Yu Nian's body.

RuJin's eyes flickered as he watched. He saw everything perfectly. He saw the turmoil in Yu Nian's body when the poison had spread, and what the elder had done to stop it. The poison wasn't as simple as that, there were no cures to it. It was something that he had made. Trying to stop it only made it more active as it tried to hide whilst spreading.
"Master, that man there threw a needle at Senior Yu Nian." Xun Li said once again.
Qu Ren's turned towards RuJin.
"Excuse us, young lad. But it seems like we will have to search your body for any signs of the poisonous needle." As Qu Ren said this, he walked towards RuJin, a couple disciples from the other sects stepped forward at the signal of their sect elder.
As his fingers were less than one inch away from touching RuJin, RuJin used his fan to smack Qu Ren's hand away before flipping his body as he jumped backward, landing on his feet with grace and elegance.
Shi Si, Xi Ting, Bai Pian, Cao Lou, and Ti Wei jumped out of their spots, forming a shield around RuJin.
"Shi Si, what are you doing?!" Xun Li screamed.
"I cannot have you harming my Lord." Shu Si said as he took out his sword, along with the other four.
"Are you betraying your sects right now?" Ran Yu asked.
"It isn't betraying when we have never really accepted being in the sect." Bai Pian said, cocking his eyebrow.
"How dare you!?" Lan Chen shouted.
"Old man, you should think about your health first before you scream." Xi Ting told Lan Chen as he sneered.
"Why are we still talking to idiots like them?" Cao Lou asked.
"We need the Lord's permission first. It feels good to drop the act of being that good and naive disciple." Ti Wei said, relaxing his muscles.
"Get them!" Jiang Mun ordered.
"Go." RuJin commanded.
With that, they took off. The sound of swords were heard as RuJin focused on his own opponent.
ShuYan took off at the order of his master, rushing towards the man who must've been the leader of those five disciples.
As ShuYan's sword struck towards RuJin, RuJin lifted his fan and blocked the attack, kicking the sword away.
With concentrated eyes, ShuYan struck his sword at RuJin again, aiming for his legs, before suddenly switching towards his face.
RuJin moved backwards, dodging the attack towards his legs, and looked back to see the sword aiming towards his face, and tried to dodge towards the left.
ShuYan watched the man dodged his first attack before getting surprised by the second and barely dodged.
But the mask on his face was caught by the sword.
The mask flung off RuJin's face, falling to the ground.
ShuYan looked at him, his eyes were filled with emotions.
"R-RuJin?"

The Journey of a Lazy Magician
