《Dark Lord》Chapter 39

Back in Fuyin royal palace, Xi Yu could feel the turmoil from her brother, Xi WeiLong. No matter what she said, her brother was dead set on this useless war that would only harm both sides. No, it would only harm their side.
But....maybe these people deserved it. Maybe they too, were getting their retribution for all the lives they had taken. But, who knew? Who knew of the lies and rumors, slanders of the cultivation world? Only she knew, only she understood the black and whites of the righteous Sect, for everyone else had been blinded by power.
But she couldn't leave now even if she wanted to. She was one of the most powerful people in the world. If she left, people would try to track her down and she couldn't risk Jin being found. So the only could she could do is fake her death. That way, she could peacefully go and find Jin without any worry.
Even so, she had to leave. If she didn't, she would be forced to fight in a war against the very same person she was trying to protect. The only way she could leave was if she were to rebel against her brother's orders.
Her brother.....he was a good person by all means. It was just that, when he was a child of 3 years old, his whole life changed. His mother was the first empress of Fuyin, but she was killed.
The empress at that time was a loving mother, Xi WeiLong did not go a day without the empress by his side.
But, things changed. Slowly, she started getting sick, then her illness worsen. She was stuck in bed, unable to move. No doctors were able to find out the illness, and no one could decipher if she was poisoned or if she had gotten a real illness.
Slowly, Xi WeiLong watched as his mother's condition got worse and worse, to the point where he could barely recognize who she was. She went from a loving and caring women to one who wanted only death. His mother went crazy from her illness.

That was, until a powerful cultivator came to visit his mother, and revealed a shocking fact.
The cultivator had told them that the Dark Lord had cast a magic spell on her whole family, and that they were sentenced to death by slowly dying away from the pain of their body being pierced by thousands of sword over and over again. All of the members of her family were slowly dying, all except for a few, including some children and elders.
Why did the Dark Lord try to kill his mother? He never found out. He also never found out why the Dark Lord had spared some people, including himself when he could've killed them too.
And so, Xi WeiLong could only watch as his mother slowly died, up until the finally moment of her death. When Xi WeiLong lost his mother, an empty void was left in his heart. He didn't know why his beautiful mother was killed, he didn't know why the Dark Lord had decided to do such a thing.
But ever since then, he swore to avenge his mother, to grow powerful enough to kill the Dark Lord. But who would've thought that the Dark Lord would be killed before he could become more powerful. So, with the Dark Lord's death, he slowly forgot his promise up until the moment of the Dark Lord's return.
Truthfully, Xi Yu knew that she couldn't blame her brother for this. But she wanted him to know that there must've been a reason why Jin would do something like that to the past empress. Though Jin was known as the Dark Lord, killing so many people in his life, he had a reason as to why he did it.
So this time, Xi Yu was going to repay the debt that she owned to Jin. When she had been sent as a spy, she was a mere servant, treated poorly by everyone until Jin came and accepted her with kindness. He treated her as if she was his sister, saving her from the cruelty she faced under the alias of a poor orphaned maid.

Even when she found out the true identity of Jin, her heart didn't waver. The rumors, slander, and lies of the world, she knew best. She grew up in the palace, a place where one could easily lose everything with one wrong move. Of course, she knew that you can only believe what your eyes saw themselves, for others can easily lie about something with an unwavering heart.
That's why when Jin was punished with the most cruelest way to die, she was going to fight to the death for him. She would've, but Jin had stopped her, and she didn't want to disobey his orders. She was a princess, but she was willing to obey Jin.
Xi Yu was simple. Once you've gained her trust, she was willing to fight to the death for you. That's why even now, she was willing to follow him. Deep down, Jin had made her feel the true emotion of how it felt when you had someone you could trust with your life. Even if he was to betray her, she would still repay the debt she owned.
Because of her, he almost died. If she had disobeyed his words, he wouldn't have been hurt. But if she had done that, Jin would've never found out about his real identity. So that was why she didn't regret her decision, because now, Jin could get a chance to find the person he lost.
Xi Yu looked up, her eyes blurry with emotions as she finally found out what she had to do. She looked at her hand, bitterness arising as she breathed out slowly. No one else was in the room with them, only she and Xi WeiLong were here.
She grasped a small needle in her hand, making sure that her brother did not see, she shot it towards his neck.
"Brother!" Xi Yu screamed, attempting to block the needle flying towards Xi WeiLong.
Only with the scream did Xi WeiLong notice the weapon flying towards him. But it was too late to stop it. The needle struck him in the neck, his body flew back from the impact as he felt a wave of pain.
With the distraction, Xi Yu created clones of powerful cultivators charging towards her. She knew that Xi WeiLong wasn't unconscious yet, so she needed to play it safe.
She said a quick spell, making a barrier as she ran towards her brother.
"Brother, wake up, you need to run." Xi Yu quickly shouted, holding her brother with tears in her eyes. She shook him, trying to wake him.
"Run, Xi Yu," Xi WeiLong said, his eyes slowly closing, his hand that was reaching out to Xi Yu fell back down.
"Brother," Xi Yu said, making sure that Xi WeiLong was unconscious.
When she was sure that Xi WeiLong wasn't awake anymore, she got up, making a barrier around Xi WeiLong to make it seem like she was protecting him.
Then, she used another spell to make clones of dead bodies surrounding the room, then finally, she casted a spell to make a clone of herself. But this clone of her was on the ground, blood surrounding her along with injuries everywhere.
The clones that she made should stay real until they were disposed of, her clone will stay until after it got buried. As she made sure everything was perfect, she slowly looked at her brother.
"Forgive me, brother, but there is a debt that I must repay, a promise that I need to keep."
With that sentence, Xi Yu turned her back, her body disappearing, as she set out to find Jin.
This won't be farewell forever, they will meet once more.
But by then, the pair of sibling will be turned into enemies.
All love and trust will be forgotten with this betrayal.
