《Dark Lord》Chapter 45

Mo Xin looked at Jin, wanting to speak, but unable to say anything. She didn't feel like she was going to betray him, instead, she just didn't understand how she was supposed to act to him now. Back then was different, now, she didn't know how Jin would act to her.
"Hello, sister," RuJin wasn't going to act harsh towards this person. No matter what, he would remember how much she had sacrificed to protect someone like him, who was hated by the entire world.
"I....Can I still be considered your sister?" This was the question Mo Xin wanted to ask, something she wanted desperately to know.
RuJin thought deeply as he was asked this question. Truth is, she can still be considered his sister because they were related by blood. No matter if he was RuJin, his body was still LuJin.
"Yes, you are still my blood-related sister. But that doesn't mean that I may treat you like one. Although I do thank you for being by my side when I was still LuJin, things are different now." RuJin couldn't help but say. He didn't want to hurt Mo Xin, because even though it was a different side of him that experienced her love, she was still like a true sister to him. Deep down, she was a protective person, someone like ShuYan in his past life, except she was his sister.
Mo Xin's face brightened up upon those words. Even though they were still cruel, cutting a line between them, at least she could still be by his side to protect him and be his sister.
"That is enough for me. As long as I can still be your sister, I am willing to protect you with my life. No matter if you are RuJin, the Dark Lord, or LuJin, my brother, you are someone who I love with all my heart. I hope that you know that you aren't alone in this world. Please, let me by by your side and help you in the war that is coming." Mo Xin looked at RuJin, then, she bent down onto her knees.

Yu Xi looked at Mo Xin, her eyes hard to describe. She wasn't afraid that Mo Xin would betray her brother. The time they had spent together was enough to know that Mo Xin truly loved her brother and that she would never be willing to put him in danger. Mo Xin wasn't someone like that and Yu Xi knew it from deep in her heart.
Then, Yu Xi turned her head to her brother, nodding her head at RuJin. She knew that even though it was hard to tell, RuJin did have a spot for Mo Xin in his heart. No, maybe it was for his family now. Even if they had all betrayed him now, they were still the people who had raised him up with love and care. And maybe that's why RuJin wasn't going to do anything to Mo Xin right now.
"Mo Xin, are you really willing to help me? Are you willing to help someone who has been shunned by the world, someone who is a cure, and evil killer like me?" RuJin couldn't help ask. Because maybe now, he was still afraid of being betrayed. Even though he may try so hard not to show it, his heart was still one that wanted love. After all, he was someone who was hated by the entire world, someone who others wanted to kill.
RuJin's heart was complicated, emotions appearing in his frozen heart. The path that he had chosen had took so much away from him. He grew up far too soon for someone of his age and he faced dangers all alone. No matter what, he was still a human. He still wanted love, and not to be hated by the world. But because he was the Dark Lord, he was different. That was the sacrifice that came with having powers that people feared. The world hated him, and even the heaven wasn't willing to help him.

"You see, I know that you can't trust me, but I do know that you have a past darker than other people, and because of that, you had to change. You've lost so much, you've been hated by the world, betrayed by mankind, and I know that is why you can't trust. But I promise you, my intentions are pure and I will never be willing to betray you. When I left my family, I had already ended all my connections with them. Because they weren't willing to protect you, because they were going to join the other side and go against you. I just want you to know, I trust you, and I will stand by your side." Mo Xin was still on her knees as she said this, her head hung low as she spoke.
RuJin closed his eyes, and after a while, he opened them. He directed his eyes towards Xue Yu, signaling him to come closer.
"Summon everyone to the grounds, we willing be adding new members into the rank." RuJin commanded Xue Yu, his eyes now hard.
"Yes, Lord," With that, Xue Yu turned his back and exited, all the while, still unable to understand what was going on.
With that said, RuJin looked back at Mo Xin, who was still on the ground.
"Get up. I hope that I can put my trust in you and not expect to be betrayed."
"Thank you, but I do have a question. Can I.....Can I still call you my brother?" Mo Xin knew that this might be asking for too much, but she was taking a chance.
"Do as you wish," RuJin walked away after saying that. He needed some peace and time to think to himself after all that had happened today.
Mo Xin got up, a smile on her face as she turned to Yu Xi.
"Thank you."
RuJin looked at the moon, a heavy feeling in his heart. Something was wrong, terribly wrong but he couldn't put his fingers on it. His heart felt pain, but he didn't know what it was.
Rethinking on everything that had happened, just who was that presence he felt? It felt familiar yet different at the same time and that made RuJin fear. He feared that something was going to happen, and he wasn't going to like it one bit.
Something big was definitely going to happen and it made RuJin feel out of place. Deep down, he knew something was going to change about the war, but then again, so much had changed.
Maybe he was just being worried for nothing.....
But as he stared at the bright moon he thought about ShuYan again.
The man who he loved with his whole heart, the one he would be willing to die for. The one that he would never betray....

War Beast
The future is savage. Jenny Summer is a news reporter who hates her job. One day, an accident sends her through a time portal, straight into the distant future. A future of warring Beastmen tribes, deadly monsters, and magic from beyond the imagination. When the savage world is full of many threats, how will the average modern-day girl survive? Author's Note: This is a rewrite of my fiction with the original title. Instead of changing my chapters in my other draft, I made a copy with a different beginning and a few new chapters. The beginning will move straight to the fantasy world like most Isekai light novels. As usual, each chapter will go between 500 and 2,000 words. I deleted the other draft since this draft will be my focus. Enjoy and let me know what you think of this new draft. There may also be grammar and spelling errors too. This series is still in development.
