《Dark Lord》Chapter 49

Slowly but surely, time passed.
Each side of the war were building up their army, training them to get more powerful.
On Xi WeiLong's side, he had the help of the Shadow Sect and many other sects willing to help him. He trained his soldiers to get more powerful, and as the days grew closer and closer, he was getting ready to attack.
On RuJin's side, he was in no rush. The people who were on his side, he knew were loyal because most of them were the same people who had fought by his side on their first battle. His people had increased in their cultivation, and using his guidance, they were able to use more techniques in their fighting skills.
The only thing that had changed were the two new people who were put in the positions of Commander. Mo Xin proved to be a great instructor, strict but also tolerating her disciples.
Mo Xin began getting use to her new life, and her disciples were very kind towards her even though she had told her past to them. In fact, Mo Xin didn't understand why the righteous sects disliked these people who were dark cultivators, because nonetheless, they seemed to have a purer heart than most people.
Yu Xi was able to combine both of her souls back into one without suffering any backlash, and also helped Mo Xin with her teachings. Although, while Mo Xin was stricter, Yu Xi was more gentle to the disciples. But, they both got along extremely well, almost as if they had a spent a lifetime together.
Mo Xin stood in front of her disciples who varied from the ages of 14 to 20. Although she did not practice the dark arts, as those that were being teached by the other instructors, she had a great knowledge about how to advance in cultivation and how to get a stronger power in a limited time without damaging one's body. This was what she taught, and every now and then, Yu Xi also helped out with the teaching, helping the disciples learn some of the skills passed down by her mother.

Her mother had passed some skills that were meant for dark cultivators to use, so she also gave some insight about these matters.
As Yu Xi was instructing the disciples, she saw a figure in the corner of her eyes looking at Mo Xin, who was preparing something. She couldn't help it as a smile appeared on her face and she went back to giving out the final step.
"For the last part, focus all of your inner strength onto your palm. Kept calm while doing this and be patient, make sure that you do not miss a step. This spell is easy but as soon as you miss a step, it becomes deadly for you and anyone around you. While focusing all of your inner strength onto your palm, and try to visualize that you can see a power surrounding your palm. As soon as you begin to see a dark mist gathering around your palm, direct it to the object that you want it to, and push it out towards it. Since this isn't the real battle yet, you will practice this skill on a partner, for the partner, you will focus on shielding the attack as what was taught in the previous class. I will demonstrate the skill quickly first." Yu Xi said, walking towards Mo Xin, who was already ready to help out.
Yu Xi gathered up her energy quickly, a dark mist appearing in her palms as she directed it to Mo Xin, who already had a shield up to protect herself. As the dark mist was shot out, it became a dark beam that shot out quickly, and once it touched the shield, it exploded with a loud sound. Once it settled, a crack appeared in Mo Xin's shield.
"This attack can be much stronger, but do make sure not to injure your partner while practicing this. You may go now." With her words, the disciples immediately found a pair and began practicing the skills.
Yu Xi smiled towards Mo Xin then walked towards Xue Yi, who had been staring at Mo Xin for quite a while now.

"Are you just going to keep staring or what else are you going to do?" Yu Xi couldn't help but ask, seeing how Xue Yi looked at Mo Xin as if she was a mighty goddess appearing in his eyes.
"Is it just me or does she appear so majestic? I seriously feel like I fall more in love with her every time that I see her." Xue Yi mumbles some words out, and Yu Xi couldn't help but laugh.
"Ha, one of my brother's most powerful general has actually fallen in love. Confess already, I'm getting sick of you appearing and interrupting my lessons. No need to be scared, Mo Xin is truly kind even though she doesn't show it behind her face." Yu Xi helped Xue Yi our, and as she said the last part, she smacked Xue Yi in the shoulder.
"Should I really do that, but what if she rejects me?" Xue Yu brightened up before glooming down.
"I thought I overheard someone saying that were going to confess to her on-" Even before she had finished her words, Xue Yi had rushed towards Mo Xin already.
As soon as Xue Yu was gone, Yu Xi looked towards the trees.
"Brother, how long are you going to hide behind that tree?" Yu Xi asked.
RuJin appeared as soon as she asked that question, taking slow steps as he walked towards Yu Xi, his face remained cold, and his eyes still retained their harshness in them.
As they stood next to each other, they looked at Xue Yi who had suddenly gotten down on his knees before Mo Xin. They saw Mo Xin shaking her head and turning to walk away when Xue Yi suddenly bowed down. Mo Xin could be seen signaling and telling him to get up, and after a while of thinking she nodded her head. Then Xue Yi sprung up and hugged her.
RuJin looked at that scene, his heart aching as he thought about ShuYan, before pushing him away for now. If he kept thinking about him, he would become distracted once again.
"The other side have already begun advancing, I estimate that they will appear after two days." RuJin told Yu Xi.
"So slow? They're cultivators, they should be able to arrive in less than half a day if they use their swords to help them fly, if they teleport, they would make it here in no time." Yu Xi couldn't help but questioned.
"They must have a sneak attack in their minds right now and they must be trying to see how it would work, otherwise, why would they be willing to take so long." Yu Xi shook her head as she said this, her mood suddenly dropping.
"Start preparing the disciples for the battle, Yu Xi. I will leave this matter up to you. You have free will to decide what would be the best route for us to take." RuJin moved his eyes away from Mo Xin and Xue Yi and directed it towards Yu Xi instead.
"Yes, brother, I won't fail you. But are you truly ready for this war?" Yu Xi could see that RuJin did not look too well, maybe this had to do with someone.
RuJin only looked towards the sky as he slowly said, "Ready or not, I don't have a choice. They took him away from me, they took so much away from me, their debt can only be repaid in this way."
Yu Xi said nothing after that, only calmly taking in her brother's hidden sorrow that he had tried to hide away for so long.
Brother, I will always be here for you no matter what.
