《Blind and Bereft》Chapter 38 | Furious Love

Sister Jingyi was a maid at the Floating Abyss Palace. All this time, she had been a part of the Floating Abyss Palace. Jingrui suddenly felt as if the world were an enclosed circle, and fate was paying her its best charity.
Prince Zhanying chuckled and a creeping cold ran down her spine. "No wonder."
"No wonder?" Jingrui asked after she found her voice.
"I have never paid attention to your sister," Prince Zhanying told her as he summoned a handkerchief and wiped the tea off his finger. "I've only ever heard of such a name from Yuansong. He told me that she was the most beautiful maid he had ever caught a glimpse of. Naturally, I didn't care whether she was beautiful or ugly, I could not see. But one day, in the middle of the night, she broke into the inner courtyard. When Yuansong brought her before me, I caught a strong and distinct fragrance of peach blossoms just as I smelt on you."
Jingrui was at a loss for words. She swallowed down all her shock and cautiously met the Prince's gaze with her own. "Why would Sister Jingyi break into the inner courtyard? As far as I know, she is the most careful person in this vast world. She would never break rules without reason. . ."
"She indeed took careful measures to break in. It's just that, she couldn't escape my ears." Prince Zhanying stared right at her direction. "I didn't punish her at first, but she never stopped trying to break in. I concluded she was Yihuai's spy and banished her from my Palace"
"Then what happened to her afterwards?" Jingrui fidgeted her fingers as she anticipated his answers.
"I don't know. Madam Fu sent her to work in a different palace, and I never cared enough of her fate."

"So even Your Highness doesn't know what could have happened to her?" Jingrui drooped down against the table, feeling all hope was lost.
"I do not know. You sisters are very much alike. Li Jingyi was a rule breaker. She snuck everywhere within the Palaces, offended the superiors, and held no proper etiquette. Maybe that's what led her to her doom."
"My Sister was the most well-mannered person I have ever known, she would never do such a thing without reason," Jingrui grumbled and crossed her arms.
"You sure have a lot of faith in your sister, Bao Bao, but from what I've heard, after she left my Palace, she offended Emperor Yihuai and needed to be punished—"
"Jingyi would never do that!" Xiao's angry growl interrupted their conversation, and Prince Zhanying clenched his jaw as his eyes darkened.
"Jingyi would never ever, ever, be as reckless as to offend anyone. And even if, for some inarticulable reason, she did, she did not deserve to die in such a horrendous manner! Pure as ice and chaste as jade, essence and heart of orchids, sink fish and alight birds, outshine the moon and put flowers to shame, too beautiful for description. That was what she was!"
Xiao stormed into the room, but before he sat down beside Jingrui, his gaze met Prince Zhanying's. Rolling his eyes, he pushed her to sit by the Prince and put his arms over the space, occupying it all on his own.
"I am Jingyi's husband, get that straight, Your Highness. I know her best. She was the smartest out of us three disciples. She would never do those accusations Your Highness has assumed!" Xiao spoke at the top of his lungs as he pointed an angry finger at Prince Zhanying.

Prince Zhanying held his hand over his forehead, his jaw clenched. And although he did not try to defend himself or converse with Xiao, Jingrui knew his actions well after having served him for over a moon. She placed her finger onto her lips, desperately shushing Xiao.
Xiao growled under his breath but lowered his voice, not daring to test Prince Zhanying's temper. "I think she might have done those things as part of why Master sent her to the Hell Palace. Jingyi didn't enter the Palace simply because she wanted to be a maid to serve some arrogant gods"—he eyed Prince Zhanying—"but she went there upon Master's request. He probably gave her some kind of mission."

Ellie is excited to go to university and finally make friends after a difficult time at high school. Soul of the Warrior
In a world where Classes, Stats, and Levels are the everyday norm, Reivyn has a secret. He was unusually aware of his surroundings from an incredibly early age, and Skills and Stats were acquired easily. He was just the son of an ordinary village family, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary on the surface. But below the surface, dreams of another life help shape his mentality and growth. Why does he have some remembrance of a past life, and what is his purpose in this new one? "Soul of the Warrior" is what I call a Semi-Isekai LitRPG. I say "semi," because Reivyn's past life is remembered like a dream, and very incomplete. It is still Isekai, though, as he remembers enough that it directly shapes his personality and his sense of self. The System that governs the world of "Soul of the Warrior" is a combination of modified versions from Selkie's "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons" and Kosnik4's "Magic Smithing." I have changed enough of these Systems and combined them in a way that is unique that I'm mostly sure it's fine, but I still have requested permission to use these ideas. They have both graciously granted me permission. Winner of the April Writathon Challenge. Release Schedule is Mon, Wed, Fri on Royal Road.

When Plush comes to Shove
An: So the last synopsis wasn’t really all that good, it was just some mumbo jumbo with no actual point to it so I decided to make a new one that’s a bit more accurate. Leo Lush, just your average everyday (slightly chubby) schmuck, or at least he would be if he didn’t carry around a stuffed toy everywhere he went.I mean, he was a man who could read the atmosphere a bit so put it away in his bag whenever having a stuffed toy out would be rude but other than that he brought it with him all the time, it was a memento from his girlfriend who had died three years ago and keeping it close made him feel better. That’s also why his classmates gave him the nickname “Plush”, though that's neither here nor there. One day at the train station he’d lost his dearest stuffed toy, one of his classmates found it and lobbed it towards him, something that they’d already done many times before, but this time something went wrong and Leo found himself falling in front of the train due to the force of the throw. Now follow Leo as the spirit that developed in his stuffed toy and killed him forces his ghost into another world to possess a different stuffed toy. He doesn’t know much about the world or why he’s there but what he does know is that according to a magic book his girlfriend was also sent to this very world when she died in a plane accident three years ago. An: For those who want to know a bit more about what kind of story this will be: I want it to be a chill feel-good story and stay as far away from those despair-fest stories as possible (No offense to people who enjoy them, I’m just not one of you)Let me make something clear; I’m not writing this story with hope of it becoming really top tier among RRL (Though it did get above rank 500 once which I’m still very proud of even though it’s gone back down to ~850 at the time of writing this) I just want to write a story that I would enjoy reading, that’s why I’ll be mostly skipping over a lot of the parts that I skip when I read other stories, such as stats, the exact value of money and other such precise statistics that no one(as far as I’m aware) really cares about all that much. Just feels like a lot of effort for something superfluous. There’s a single exception and that’s one of the battles, it’s not a despair-fest or anything but it’s got a different feel than the rest of the story due to me being in a funky mood while I was writing it.
