Chapter 4

Lian Ren grabbed his Yun Sect sword on the jade table and put it back to it's scabbard as he hanged it to his silver waist belt. Even if the sword was not Lan Ren that was his demonic sword back when he was the Frost Demon, the sword was quite credible and he can use it to fight low-tier vicious ghosts.

( in case you don't know, Lan Ren means Blue Blade. I don't fucking know what is the English translated word of Lian Ren so just let it be hoHOHo 👁👄👁 )

Xin Mei waved and pointed the carriage where she was in.

Lian Ren smiled and nodded, he fixed the scabbard of the sword once more and started to walk forward to the carriage's direction.

Xin Mei lowered her gaze and poured him a cup of tea on the small table inside the carriage as she spoke,

Lian Ren accepted the cup of tea that Xin Mei handed and nodded his head as a sign of gratitude. He asked while sipping his tea.

Xin Mei took a quick glance at the pleasing view of mountains outside the window of the carriage before answering,

Lian Ren scowled and rolled his eyes. They are just too lazy to go on a mission! What training? They didn't even put Shizun's teaching to themselves and they made an excuse that they are training?! Ridiculous. Either way, Lian Ren would prefer to not ask for reinforcements because revealing that he had demonic core would be a very dangerous thing. Moving secretly with only a single companion is the best option rather than having so many cultivators to drag him down.

Xin Mei who was appreciating the beautiful view outside the window shifted her gaze at Lian Ren when she suddenly remembered something.

Lian Ren's index finger that he was tapping non stop from pondering halted, he pursed his lips and his brows slightly knitted before showing a smile with a nod of his head.

Xin Mei nodded and heaved a breath of relied before leaning on the side wall and resting his chin on his arms.

Lian Ren didn't answer and only sipped his tea, he saw his reflection at the clean liquid of the tea and Shao Ling's pained face suddenly popped inside his mind. He had seen that face before but he can't remember when, he was filled with hatred and the desire to revenge to the point that he eventually didn't cared about what the others feel or what they are thinking, and that includes Shao Ling.

It doesn't matter if he was hurt, if he was happy or if he was sad. All he wanted that time was to kill everyone who mocked him back then, and he wanted to take revenge on Shao Ling the most. But after he killed all those Yun Sect disciples and nearly killed Shao Ling in his hands after he penetrated his demonic sword Lan Ren on Shao Ling's chest, he realized that everything was so easy. He never felt satisfied in the end even if the dead bodies if the people he hated were piled all over the Yun Sect.

After a while, the carriage had already arrived at the entrance of the West town of Yun Sect. The brown signboard that had a calligraphy letter of which means Xi or West stood proud beside the entrance of the West town, the coachman lightly whipped the horse and continued to gallop straight inside the West town of the Yun Sect. Xin Mei fixed the white and purple flower on her hair and withdrew her arms out of the edge of the window as they passed in the midst of the town citizens.

Few of the people were walking everywhere in the town, there were foodstalls at the side of the road and kids playing stones deep inside the narrow alleys. The simple wooden buildings and lotus lanterns were decorated all over the West town if the Yun Sect that catched Lian Ren's attention. He shifted his gaze at Xin Mei who had shoved the curtain windows and peeked at the people outside,

He had never went to the West Town and East town of the Yun Sect before because the main road straight to the entrance of the Yun Sect was located at their Central town. Xin Mei grinned at him and replied, Lian Ren shook his head as a response.

After a few moments, the carriage stopped and Lian Ren stepped out of the carriage first before he supported Xin Mei down like a fine gentleman. Xin Mei turned her head on his direction and sneered, Lian Ren sighed and replied,

Xin Mei giggled and replied,

Lian Ren scoffed and replied,

Xin Mei arched her brows and replied,

Lian Ren stared down at his own body. It is indeed true that he didn't have an ounce of muscle on his body because he barely worked out inside the Yun Sect because back then, he always hid somewhere to about the Yun Sect disciples who always mock him non stop. I'll work out after this mission.

Xin Mei started to walk to lead the way and Lian Ren followed him from behind, they are now at the outskirts of the West town of Yun Sect and the beautiful and clear wide lake filled with lotus flowers and lotus pads were clearly seen at the water, floating gracefully and slightly swaying while they all radiated a soft green glow.

Lian Ren raised his eyes and shifted his gaze at Xin Mei who was now beside him,

Xin Mei glanced back at him and nodded,

Lian Ren nodded in agreement,

Xin Mei redirected her gaze at the lotus lake and frowned,

Lian Ren wandered his eyes on the surroundings as he replied,

Since there are only the two of them, Lian Ren grabbed this opportunity to proceed on his plan. He put up a gentle smile as he turned his head at Xin Mei who was trying to find the gate of the demon realm with a frown,

Xin Mei shifted her gaze at him with her eyes wide open and nodded in agreement,

Lian Ren agreed.

Both of them started to walk down their own paths. Xin Mei fixed the pale white long bow on her back and made an incantation sign using her both hands, purple started flowing out of her palms then gradually floated all over her body, molding it's shape into a small purple flowers that was compressed into a single small cloud. Xin Yue sat on the cloud while remaining to made an incantation sign using her both hands while the cloud floated and carried her whole body as she soared up the sky.

Lian Ren on the other hand kept walking straight to the forest. The thick mist and the tall thin trees whose leaves were all painted red, brown and yellow because of the fall season made it harder for him to find the barrier, he spread out his palm and a blue spiritual qi that became an ice particles slowly combined itself into a small frost fairies that looked like it was made of glass. The small fairies lifted their gaze at Lian Ren and made a low clanking sound.

Lian Ren simply ordered.

The small fairies nodded their heads and the low clanking sound resonated again, their thin glass wings flapped rapidly as they flew up the sky like a dragonly and disappeared in a flash. Lian Ren redirected his gaze at the thick mist and unsheathed his sword, he slid his index finger and middle finger on the blade and his blue spiritual qi enveloped the blade in an instant. Lian Ren held the hilt of the blade tightly and swung it once with a large force, the blue spiritual qi that was enveloped all over the blade separated itself and shoved the mist away.

A large boulder that was carved with letters appeared in front of him, Lian Ren withdrew his sword back to his scabbard and took a step closer to the large boulder, his eyes were fixated on the letters that as written on the boulder.

Gluttony Ghost.

Lian Ren smirked,

The Seven Deadly Sin can't go out of the demon realm unless they had a spiritual or demonic item, talisman, amulet or anything that will make them able to get out of the demon realm. They were automatically cursed by the gods of the Heaven Realm when they became the Seven Deadly Sins, that's why they can't go out of the Mortal Realm because they will destroy the balance of the world.

The Gluttony Ghost must've got his or her hand over a powerful spritual material that can fight the god's curse. He or she must be the one who made the gate of the demon realm and ket out the vicious ghost to wream havoc all over the town. Lian Ren proceeded to walk around the forest,

A large sound of explosion was heard up on the sky. Lian Ren lifted his gaze and saw the Emergency fireworks that Xin Mei was talking about earlier, he immediately unsheathed his sword and infused his blue spiritual qi on it before stepping on the sword as he soared upwards the sky straight to the firework's direction.
