Chapter 36
Wrecked woods on the edges, windows that looks like they're not cleaned for a very long time and a sturdy wooden doubled door placed at the center of the house, Lian Ren had never seen this place before even though he traveled everywhere on his past life. The slave auction house was large enough to fit in a huge stage and a hundred people inside. However, the texture of the house was poor but at the same time, it doesn't seem suspicious and seem like a hidden place to lurk on. Lian Ren stood properly, walking straight to the door when he realized that he bumped on a bulky man who seemed hostile. Lian Ren frowned in bewilderment and stared at the bulky man who was glaring at him.
The bulky man left him with a glaring eyes. However, Lian Ren ignored his existence and was deep in thoughts. I thought i was inside a test.... How come i'm visible to this dimension? Is it possible to an outsider to interfere in another dimension? I never saw this on demonic books or even in the Grand temple or Yun Sect...
Lian Ren glanced left and right, tapping his left foot as he observed the people around the slave auction house. The slave auction house was separated from the main capital of the empire. Judging from the snow and the harsh cold climate, the empire must be the Empire of Qiaochen. The Empire of Qiaochen is located at the northern mountains. They known to have public schools to provide education to nobles even in commoners and that is why most of the commoners travel from the harsh weather for the Qiaochen's public school. The Empire of Qiaochen is known to have many scholars and also doctors, this empire is the main source of scholars and royal doctors all over the empire of west, east and south.
Lian Ren widened his palms and was about to summon an ice fairy when he realized that his meridians were closed and both of his spiritual and demonic core were sealed when he tried to extract qi. According to the book, a challenger wouldn't be able to use energy inside a heavenly trial because of the strict rules that the caster made. Lian Ren withdrew his hand and rested it on his chin. If that is the case, he won't be able to do anything inside the dimension. Fighting with raw strength is also good but it's troublesome for him so it's better to keep a low profile than to wreak havoc while i find the exit of this dimension.
Lian Ren walked towards the cracked bench beside the slave auction house. He doesn't understand why he was dragged into this dimension. He intertwined his hands and stared down at his boots while he think deeply on the reason why. He had thousands of battles in his past life. Is it a trial where he should defeat someone? Or a trial where he should retrieve something? Or maybe a trial where he will find the exit somewhere?

"Affection is the best gift that human can receive. But for me, it can be the worst poison that i can give. Behold, child. See if you really care for your Shizun after seeing the eye of the storm."
Lian Ren immediately stood up. That's right.... Ot has something to do with Shizun! Then.... This place is....
Lian Ren shifted his gaze where the noise is coming from. He spotted the bulky man that he bumped on who thought that he was a son of some nobleman who came here to buy slaves. The bulky man was frowning at the slaves, holding a leather whip on his hand. Lian Ren glanced at the slaves who were lining up. They were covered with shackles and a heavy chain on their wrists and ankles. In a pile of snow where anyone would get a frostbite from the cold, the slaves were wearing nothing but old clothes and barefoot, swelling and wounds from the forstbite were seen from their feet. The slaves were walking to the slave auction house's direction but the weight of the chains were hindering their speed, causing them to walk slow like a tortoise on land.
The bulky man was getting impatient from the slaves. He glowered at them and raised his whip, the tip of the leather whip landed on the arms of the slaves, leaving a hole on their old clothes and a red swelling wound on their arms. The bulky man yelled. The other slaves were terrified and tried to walk faster even though they looked like their bones would break from the weight of the chain.
Lian Ren watched them with a straight expression. However, what caught his attention was a certain slave from the middle of the line. His lifeless eyes were staring down at the pile of snow where his feet were filled with severe frost bites. His ragged clothes were filled with lots of holes coming from the whips and he didn't even let out a whimper from the pain that he received from the whip. The boy continued to walk slowly straight to the slave auction's house, biting his dried lower lips and clenching his fists. Lian Ren remained looking at him, his eyes filled with bewilderment and a bit of rage. At that moment, the boy seemed to feel that someone was staring at him and looked at Lian Ren's direction with a bold expression, as if he wasn't experiencing too much suffering. His eyes looks lifeless, but it was still beautiful and brave.
Lian Ren's eyes widened as soon as he saw the boy's full face. His fingers trembled and he unconsciously took a step forward, wanting to grab that boy and immediately free him from his shackles. However, Lian Ren knew that when he is inside of another dimension, he won't be able to use spiritual or demonic energy and doing reckless actions would make him trapped in the dimension even more. In this dimension, he must not be swayed by his emotions. Because a single stupidity will make him unable to go out. Lian Ren's eyes trembled as he stared at the boy. He wanted to hug him, to tell him that he's here now and everything will be okay. The boy slightly tilted his head as he looked at Lian Ren's direction and eventually averted his gaze, continuing to walk to the slave auction house's direction.

Shizun.....
The slaves went inside the slave auction house and Lian Ren also followed them from behind. Because of his luxurious robes, he easily blend in with the people inside the slave auction house filled with cultivators, noblemen and even young masters and merchants. The slave went to the other side of the hallway where they won't be seen by the people and the hallway where it's path is straight to the back of the stage. Lian Ren wanted to follow them but doing that would make him suspicious. He went on the middle hallway where it is straight to the stage where the slaves will be auctioned. He glanced at the people sitting in front of the stage and also sat at the chair located at the edge, waited for a while until the slaves showed up at the stage.
It didn't took a while for him to wait because the host of the auction immediately showed up to the stage. The host was a man, dressed in luxurious brown robes with an average face and bald head.
The first slave was a young girl with peculiar green eyes.
The bid went on and on and huge amount of slaves were sold in a high price until the boy showed up at the stage. The boy doesn't let out a word, he just stood properly at the stage, wearing a bold expression and a brave lifeless eyes on the audience.
Lian Ren didn't removed his eyes at the boy. He felt anguish seeing that they treated the boy like he was a material that anyone could buy. Lian Ren remembered that Shao Ling was bought by the Yun Sect Master at a slave auction house and trained him to become a cultivator until Shao Ling was able to advance and become a Yun Sect Master. Lian Ren wandered his eyes at the people who were bidding for the boy until he saw an old man wearing a light blue robe with white clouds embroidered all over its fabric... A Yun Sect robe. The old man was looking at the boy who was staring at the people with brave eyes. The old man smiled, as if the boy piqued his interest and the old man raised his eyes, saying few words that silenced the people inside.
Lian Ren suddenly realized that his heart was pounding loudly. He wanted to witness how the boy was freed on becoming a slave and became a Master in the future but deep inside, he wanted to own him. He wanted to be the one that freed him. However if he did that, Shao Ling wouldn't be able to become a Yun Sect Master in the future, and Lian Ren wouldn't be able to become the Frost Demon.
But i don't even care about that.
I know i'm selfish but..... But i want Shizun.
I want to be the one who.....
Not realizing himself, Lian Ren raised his hand, his loud manly voice echoed all over the slave auction house.
The host was shocked. It didn't took him a while to get a grip of himself and spoke with a wide smile,
Lian Red heard the old man whisper and saw him crossed his arms as he leaned on his chair.
The host asked, looking rather disappointed.
The boy shifted his gaze at Lian Ren's direction. He didn't even say anything. He just stared at Lian Ren's direction for a long time, his lifeless but brave eyes were penetrating to Lian Ren and it made him unable to stare back. Lian Ren tightly shut his eyes. To think that i'll be uncomfortable with just a gaze of a slave..... When Lian Ren opened his eyes, he saw the boy slightly opened his mouth, murmuring something, but Lian Ren didn't even hear a thing. Lian Ren stood up and the boy also turned around, going back to the backstage to make preparations now that he is sold.
Lian Ren stared at the curtains of the stage in a daze. I wonder what Shizun said just now...
