《Favorite Mistake | JeongMi | by festoon》Us Under the Starry Night

The luminosity of the city lights under the night sky. Stars shimmering along with the dazzling moon. A pearl in the black sea as if it follows every step of the people when it comes to their own eyes. That's how we see it, isn't it? In our point of view, it's like the moon is following us. Soft gentle wind blowing to the north, zephyr that blows the hair of Jeongyeon. Watching the night sky and city lights in a forty-ninth view. Her arms on the railings observing the view. She looked away from it and turned her attention to the paper she's holding. It's a wedding invitation card.
She let out a sigh as she opens it. A white yet classy invitation card, glittering gold, a fancy design on it, and the astounding use of font. You know it's really extravagant for a piece of paper. Just by the look of it will make you astonished. A bittersweet look on Jeongyeon as she scans it. Eyes that are about to burst into tears and it is shining because of the tears that are still in her eyes. Due to happiness or sadness? Maybe both. She doesn't know the reason, she just feels like it, especially when she saw the name 'Mina' in a deluxe font style. After reading, her grip on the invitation card loosened because she kinda feels weak, then the wind blew it away. She tried to get it, she stretched out her arm to get it but she could not reach it and she might even fall from the forty-ninth floor.
She breathed out in relief because her life flashed before her eyes. Thus, she turned her gaze back to the view. High-rise apartment building that provides a wonderful panorama of the city. Now that she thinks about it, there is also someone who looks like a forty-ninth view. Mina.
Crickets chirping and moonlight shining on the streets. A short and blond hair girl walking under it, Jeongyeon wants a fresh air. Blank mind, exhausted, she doesn't know where she's going, she just lets her feet go where it will take her. She just wants to relax, well because after school, she'll go to work. She is so at ease until she saw something. It looks like a garden, an abandoned garden. A shadow that is moving in a lovely way. Jeongyeon rubs her eyes to find out if what she sees is true. She tries to approach it and hides to a bush plant next to an old-looking garden trolley. She squints her eyes trying to figure out of what could it be.
A mystery allure.
Gestures that is incredibly precise. A flexible body. Like the waves of the sea, her body sways. Dancing like a white swan. She spots her dancing again. Mina. It's quite dark but she can see clearly the movements. Only the source of light is the light pole that barely works, it only gives a little light. It's her second time seeing her dancing but she was still amazed.
By the amazement, she tries to come a little closer for a better view. But she made a noise loud enough for Mina to hear. Mina heard it and stopped at dancing. She then turned around where could be the noise came from. She spot Jeongyeon on her knees, bent over, and she watches her fixing herself. After the blond girl fixed herself, she stood up and saw Mina looking at her with a blank face. "H-Hi." stuttering, she smiles at Mina awkwardly. "Jeongyeon? What are you doing here?" Mina asked. "Uhm. I was just walking not aware where I am going so basically, I'm lost. Then I spotted something. Out of curiosity, I approached that mysterious thing which happened to be you. And..." she explained like she's rapping with her hands gesturing incomprehensibly which made Mina laughed at her. A funny sight she thinks. Showing her gummy smile, Jeongyeon was stunned again. Really... she never ceased to amaze Jeongyeon.

Silence...
It's quiet and peaceful. Not exchanging words, they only stare at each other then look away then stare again, all ears in crickets chirping. "You're great at dancing." Jeongyeon blurted out of nowhere. Mina can feel her cheeks hot and she's glad it's quite dark so the girl in front won't notice it. "T-Thanks." stuttering by the sudden compliment.
"It's greater because I saw you dance closer unlike before."
"W-What?"
"Oops."
Jeongyeon quickly covered her mouth with her hand. She didn't mean to say that. "So you've seen me dance before?" Mina asked crunching her forehead. Jeongyeon slowly nodded shyly. Mina bit her lips and looks down because of embarrassment. Meanwhile, the blond girl noticed this mannerism of hers and she hides her smile in amusement.
Mina looked up and it seems that she's trying to say something. Jeongyeon waits, ready to listen. Mina shyly opened her mouth then closed it again. Glancing at the blond girl, she saw her giving an assuring smile. And she loves it. She loves it on how the blond girl makes her calm all the time, how she makes her comfortable, on how she gives her warmth. There's something about Jeongyeon that Mina can't explain. One smile, then she's fine.
She breathed out and prepares for whatever she's going to say. Jeongyeon seems like interested about it– another thing Mina loves about her.
"Do you want to dance with me?"
The blond girl was flabbergasted by the sudden request from Mina. "I-I don't know how to do ballet." Jeongyeon stated scratching the back of her head. The ballerina chortled by how cute Jeongyeon looks. But Mina won't allow it to be just like that. She snatched the blond girl's arm and pulled her to an area that is more spacious and where they can dance freely. Jeongyeon was surprised by her again.
Again.
That's her favorite word now as long as Mina and only Mina is the reason.
She don't know what to do so she just lets Mina do whatever she wants to do to her.
"No. We're not doing ballet."
The ballerina placed the blond girl's hands onto her waist and she put her arms on the blond girl's shoulder. She leaned closer making the latter tense and anxious.
This time,
it's Mina's turn to makes her calm,
For the reason that Jeongyeon always makes her feel at ease.
So in return,
She gaze at Jeongyeon's eyes that makes her in daze. Actually, Mina can create a thousands of praise and for sure she will ace it if it's an exam.
Mina was lost in thought,
Almost forgot what she was going to do.
And it's Jeongyeon's fault.
Blaming the blond girl even though she did nothing.
It's not Jeongyeon's fault for making her stupefy. It's not her fault that she finds the blond girl's eyes engaging.
Mina is crazy,
Jeongyeon is making her crazy.
Back to her objective, she offers a
Soft,
Tender,
Gentle,
And assuring smile to Jeongyeon.
Jeongyeon, who's over the moon thanks to the ballerina. Mina feels relieved now that she returned the favor.

"Why are you so tense?" Mina asked, not letting go of their dancing stance. Her face close to Jeongyeon's, they can feel each other's breath, they can hear each other's heartbeat, they can sense each other's intent stare.
"Because I was surprised. You suddenly pulled me and our current position is kinda..." the blond girl answered averting her eyes, breaking the eye contact "And you know... Someone might see us. Especially that the world is so judgmental. Even in the smallest things, they will look for something that can ruin you." Mina laughed at her excuse. They'll just dance, there's no need to overthink such things and they don't need to care about what people will think about them, they're just having fun. Besides, it's dark, only the moon, stars, and the somewhat broken light pole is their source of light.
But little did Jeongyeon knows, the ballerina will do something that will make her more tense. Mina leans closer to her, brought her face close to Jeongyeon's ear. The blond girl is thankful that it's kinda dark so Mina won't see her tomato face.
Mina whispers something.
"Forget about the world,
Us together,
Follow each and every move,
Nevermore to get lost."
Jeongyeon was confused on what Mina whispered to her. She looks at the ballerina bewilderingly and Mina just laughed it off. "What was that about?" the blond girl questioned. Mina giggles "I mean... You said you got lost. Nevermind, just think of it as a chant." the ballerina stated. Actually, Jeongyeon will think of Mina being a witch. Well, she's always bewitched at her, she's too pretty, and she almost got hypnotized by Mina's 'chant', and it's not surprising if it's true. Mina makes her nervous, her heart beat fast, she can't think clearly. There's so many reason that it's so believable.
The ballerina, Mina, moves her body along with Jeongyeon's. She sways and the blond girl will follow. Just like what she said earlier, each and every move, Jeongyeon follows Mina's lead. Their body in unison. It's really astonishing, it's as if the light of the moon is only focusing on them just like what spotlights do. Smiles on their faces, sparkle in their eyes, moving rhythmically under the shining moonlight.
It's weird that they have no music but Mina said it's okay.
"Just think of the crickets chirp,
dried leaves that we have trampled on,
and the sound of the bushes blowing in the wind as the music."
The ballerina stated still dancing with Jeongyeon. She got a point, Jeongyeon thinks. It's amazing on how imaginative Mina is. And it's amazing that it made Jeongyeon feel like it were really a music. Before, she's annoyed by the noise that the crickets making at night but now there's something that it made her lighten. Maybe because she's with Mina? At this point, she will really believe that Mina is a witch, a good witch.
...
As they dance, Mina trip on something and she stumbled. Because it's quite dark that she didn't see a rock that is a size of a fist. "Are you okay?!" startled by what happened, Jeongyeon asked her worryingly. She tried to guide Mina but it seems she can't stand. "Wait here. I'll be back." Jeongyeon assured. Mina, who is waiting patiently, saw the blond girl holding something. Jeongyeon approached.
"What is that for?"
"Oh this? I'll carry you using this."
Jeongyeon brought a garden trolley which Mina can fit in it. The blond girl then carried the ballerina and put her on the trolley and started to pull her.
"Is your house nearby?"
"Yes. It's just walking distance."
"Good. I'll take you home."
"Really? Like this?"
"Mmm. Is there a problem?"
Mina laughed. "You're embarrassed about dancing in the dark but not you pulling the trolley where I'm riding?" Jeongyeon rubbed her temple in embarrassment. She just laughed shyly at Mina.
The blond girl pulls the garden trolley where Mina fits in, walking under the light poles on the street, where there's a silent surroundings except for the sound of the trolley makes while Jeongyeon pulls it. Mina watches the blond girl's back, her cute steps as she walks quite struggling to pull her and she chuckled by the sight.
Grinning, admiring the scene, adoring Jeongyeon.
Mina looked up at the night sky. It's pretty. Then, she glanced back at the blond girl. But she's prettier.
It's funny, Mina thinks. She didn't expect Jeongyeon to carry her using a garden trolley. In movies, the male lead will piggyback carry the female lead but the blond girl is different.
"You are weird.", Mina.
"How so?"
"Well, I expected you to carry me on your back but you came back with this thing in your hand." the ballerina explained while the blond girl still pulling her.
"That's why you're weird." she added and the latter laughed at her. She furrowed her eyes wondering what was funny about what she said. "Says the one who eats burger with peanut butter on it."
"..."
"..."
"Well, it's tasty."
The blond girl turned her head to look at Mina. She smiled at her. Mina's heart fluttered by Jeongyeon's small gesture. And the rest of their night was full of laughter under the bright moon and stars.

Office Days
Follow Captain Monday and the Weekdays team as they fight the good fight against the villainous Weekends. Oh, and file form a33-2 before eoq3. Comes with a dash of The Office and Office Space plus a side of Super Hero satire. Office Days is episodic in nature. So each story is standalone and may vary in length and focus. The Monday Case is the first episode and serves mostly to introduce the characters broadly. Comments get +Rep for effort. This setting was intended to be a comic series but I never found an artist for the job... probably for lack of trying. The "art" is for concept only... it took me far too long to make and it's still all sub-par.
