Cole whistled happily while working down in the factory, sorting fortune cookies.
"Why you whistling? Yesterday Cole was sad. Not today. What changed?" Karlof asked.
"Things are looking up, Karlof. We came here to find a friend, and I found him. All I gotta do now is get Zane and bust him out." Cole said determined.
"Not so easy. Chen's made it nearly impossible to escape this place." Karlof referred to the guards.
"I'm still working out the details, but Zane's a Nindroid, a walking computer. If I can get to him, he'll solve anything Chen throws at us in no time." Cole quietly exclaimed.
"Karlof wished he had friend like that." Karlof sighed.
"But first order of business, I gotta let the others know I'm busting him out." Cole took out a small red paper and folded into the cookie.
"You put message in cookie?" Karlof asked.
"I know, right? That's why it's called a fortune cookie." Cole smiled.
"Well, if you get out, don't forget about Karlof."
"Yeah, sure. Of course." Cole took a tray of fortune cookies and placed his secret message inside. The then passed the tray to one of the guards.
"Special order for the banquet's ready." Cole said.
"I hope you have the good fortune for it to end up in the right hands." Karlof said.
"You and me both, Karlof. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get out of here." Cole said. He spotted the keys on a guard's chain.
"Huh." Cole said.
. . .
"Alright, Dareth." Nya started. She made it on the island and watched as a few of the kabuki waked inside the temple.
"Lets move in." Nya said.
"Wait a minute." Dareth pulled Nya back to the D.B. express.
"Have I ever told you that I am master of disguise?" Dareth said, pulling out a large makeup kit.
"Is that makeup?" Nya asked.
"No, no, this is the master of disguise kit." Dareth replied. It was makeup.
"No! No!!" Nya exclaimed.
"Get ready to go undercover." Dareth said. A few swipes of power and paint later, Dareth turned to an imaginary audience.
"Presenting Miss Kabuki. Yeah!"
"What?" Nya asked. She had red and white gacha makeup while wearing a mix of a Chinese and Japanese gown.
"How did you manage to change my clothes?" Nya asked.
"true ninja never reveals his secrets. You should know that, Nya. Hmm." Dareth said. We still don't know how he did it to this day.
. . .
There was a feast! A banquet! The 8 remaining fighters sat in Chen's main throne room thing, and had very unappetizing food in front of them!
Kabuki danced around and served food.
"Try the horned wasp eggs. Delicious!" Chen exclaimed.
"Uh, I think I'll pass." Lloyd denied.
"Oh, lighten up, Green Ninja. This isn't a trick. This is a feast to celebrate the eight of you making it to the second round." Chen said.

"And I must congratulate the Master of Shadow's defeat over Master of Poison. She was a bit hard to swallow, am I right?" Chen said. The kabuki giggled.
"Laugh harder!!" Chen yelled. The kabuki begrudgingly did so.
"You can relax, Lloyd. Even if there was a fight, now that we told the others about Chen's dirty plot to steal our Powers, we're safe in our secret alliance." Kai sighed.
"I tried to enlist Shadow, but that dude's throwing some serious shade." Griffin said. The master of shadow happily minded his own things.
"Well, if you plan to stop Chen, you'll need everyone on board. Each fighter that loses gives him strength. Soon he'll be too powerful for even all of you combined to overcome." Garmadon said.
"Then let's hope we can do that. Given if the day actually come." Morro said.
"Why are you always a pessimist?" Lloyd asked.
"If our family has brother, there's always going to be a pessimistic one. Just asked your dad." Morro replied. Lloyd let out a sigh.
More kabuki came in with a plate of fortune cookies.
"Ooh, fortune cookies! Bring them to me!" Chen exclaimed.
"But they are for your captured-- I mean, honored guests." Clouse said.
"I'm not gonna eat them, Clousey Clouse. Just read the fortunes. They're my favorite part." Chen said.
"Might I warn you our guests are fond of whispering, and I don't think it's about your food." Clouse said.
"I've heard word they have allied themselves. The ninja have told them about our secret ceremony."
"Do they know about the spell?" Chen asked.
"Not yet, but we must get ahead of this." Clouse advised.
The kabuki went to hand the fortune cookies to the fighters.
"It has come to my attention that there are rumors floating about that I am stealing everyone's power." Chen said.
"I am."
The masters gasped.
"But it's all for this staff." Chen went on. The kabuki and warriors did a little presentation.
"No, no. Not you, staff. I mean my real staff."
Everyone gasped as the staff from the ceremony that the ninja witnessed came to Chen's hand.
"The staff of elements!" Chen exclaimed.
"It holds the power of your fallen foes, and soon it'll hold all but one. For the last standing in my tournament will win this prize and be the greatest fighter ever in the history in Ninjago!"
"You lie!" Lloyd shouted.
"Your spell! You're using our powers for that spell, aren't you?" Morro lashed out.
"Spell? What spell?" Clouse asked with a sly smile.
"Don't believe him, it's just another trick. Neuro read Clouse's mind and saw it. Tell them what you saw, Neuro." Lloyd asked the master of mind.
"I-- ah..."
Clouse glared at Neuro.
"I don't remember. Truthfully, I'm a bit more interested in knowing more about that staff." Neuro said.
"And why should we be so quick to believe everything you say? How do we know you're not lying to get the staff for yourself?" Griffin turned to Lloyd.

Skylor grabbed a fortune cookie and it was the one with Cole's message. She gasped.
"Hey, I don't want to remind you, but maybe I should say that we're the ninja saved Ninjago three times. You think we're here to steal your powers?" Morro stood up.
"Aren't you the ninja that were eager to fight a few rounds ago?" Shade asked dryly.
"That was a stupid reason and there better not be another love triangle in my life!" Morro exclaimed as he sat down. The masters began to whisper. Garmadon placed his hand to his mouth and Jay shielded his eyes as he looked away. Oh, Morro just called them out.
"It worked. Their alliance is crumbling." Clouse whispered to Chen.
"So much for the alliance." Garmadon said.
"They believe him over us?" Lloyd said.
"Why would they have a reason to believe us? Ever since we got here, we've only been saying how we're here for one thing only?" Morro reminded.
A kabuki started to keep fanning into Jay.
"If we're gonna convince anyone, argh, we need proof. Ugh. We need too, oh, find that spell. Would you cut it out!?" Jay yelled at the kabuki.
"Jay, it's me." The kabuki whispered.
"Nya?" The ninja quietly exclaimed.
"Lower your voices. I'm undercover. And to be completely honest, a bit out of my element. And I heard what happened to Cole. That was big of you both." Nya said.
"Love is like war, Nya. Everybody gets hurt." Jay said.
"Is it just you, sis?" Kai asked.
"Dareth's also on the island." Nya held out her bracelet.
"What up, ninja." Dareth said over the communicator.
"And in contact with Wu via mobile base." Nya finished.
"If you're undercover, that means you can get close to Clouse's spellbook." Kai said.
"All we know is that it's on page 149. I think he might have it in his quarters." He explained.
"I'll look into it. And it sounds like you have your work cut out for you too." Nya said.
"How so?" Jay asked.
"How do you think they found out about your little alliance? Someone in your circle of trust is a spy." Nya informed.
"A spy?" Everyone repeated. Nya hastily left as Clouse eyed her.
Skylor walked over to the ninja.
"Do you know that servant girl?" She asked.
"Uh-- Know that girl? Uh, of course not. Why? Jealous?" Kai smirked.
"My fortune tells me Cole and your friend Zane will be breaking out." Skylor handed Kai the message. "You're lucky this didn't end up in the wrong hands." Skylor said as she left.
"He found Zane, I can't believe it. Thanks, Skylor. It's good to know there are some people here we can trust." Kai sighed.
"Don't be too sure, Kai." Morro said.
"What is it with you and your suspicion of Sky?" Kai asked.
"... Sky?" Morro asked.
"Sky. You know. Skylor.... A nickname." Kai said.
"N-- I- I don't know. It's-- I just... Something's telling me." Morro said.
"A spy? Who do you think it is?" Jay asked.
"Who knows. Hey, Morro. Maybe with that thing in your head telling you things, we can figure it out." Kai joked.
"W--... Well, we can start suspecting people." Morro said.
"I have my suspicions." Lloyd eyed The master of shadow.
. . .
Dareth was in the movie base, hidden in a cave behind the waterfall. He played rock music while jamming out with an air guitar.
"Dareth. Dareth, are you there?" Nya asked over the radio.
"Ah." Dareth calmed the music and pressed a button on the com.
"Loud and proud, Nya. Talk to me." He said.
"Tell Sensei our objectives are set. I'm gonna find the spell and get proof Chen's up to no good while the ninja sniff out the spy in their alliance." Nya informed.
"Aye, aye, Samurai X. Brown Ninja out." Dareth changed the com channel.
"Breaker, breaker. Come in, Wu. The falcon has landed." Dareth said.
. . .
Cole waited for the right time. He saw the guard with the key, Zugu, distracted.
"It's time." Cole whispered to Karlof.
"But shift not over for hours." Karlof said.
"It is for me. Hehe. I've been waiting to do this for a long time." Cole jumped over the conveyer belt and ran toward a the noodle machine.
He picked up a line of noodles and started eating it all up. As Cole rebelled, everyone cheered.
"Get him!" The guards yelled.
Cole flipped back, avoiding an incoming spear. He threw a cart of flour at some guards, making them fall down. Cole rolled over and grabbed some fortune cookies to eat.
"Haha!" He chuckled.
Cole jumped over to a different corner. He picked up a near by box.
"Let there be food!!" Cole shouted. More applause.
Cole played around for a while, eating any for he might come across. Cole then used very durable noodles as rope to escape a capture. But then I guess, the noodles aren't so durable. The noodles snapped, making Cole fall right into the guards grasp.
"Got you!" Zugu said. Cole burped in his face.
"Ha! Now I feel better. You got any cake?" Cole asked.
A few seconds later, Cole was thrown into his own cell.
"Ha! It was all worth it!" Cole shouted.
As the guards left, Cole pulled out the keys he stole as he got take away.
"For these!" Cole walked towards the door.
