Jay put on the helmet he took from earlier.
"Sorry, guys, nothing." Jay said.
"Darn, I was sure trying on the helmet was gonna help us figure out who those samurai snake guys were." Cole sighed.
"Me too. Jay, are you positive the helmet doesn't do anything?" Nya asked.
"Ha! Besides make me look cool?" Jay exclaimed. The Ninja were not too amused.
"What? I know how to accessorize." Jay said.
Morro took the helmet off of Jay's head to examine it.
"Hm. Something about this is familiar, though. I just can't place it." Kai said, leaning in closer.
"Yeah." Morro traced his hand along yhe edge of the metal.
"Perhaps Master Wu knows." Kai suggested.
The Ninja entered another room to see Wu resting on a bed.
"Master Wu, this helmet. I feel like we've seen it before. Can you tell us anything?" Kai asked. Wu cautiously opened his eyes.
"Curious. Time..." He started.
"Time?" Kai asked.
"Time waits..."
"Time waits..." Nya went on.
"Time waits for no..." Wu fell asleep.
"Uh, Master?" Kai asked.
"Did someone mention lunch?" Wu woke up again.
"No, Master, no one mentioned lunch." Lloyd said.
"Then why did you wake me?" Wu fell to sleep again.
"He isn't himself." Lloyd sighed.
"No kidding." Morro added.
"Lunch isn't for three more hours. Ahh, this is just perfect. Mysterious snake samurai, uh, things attacked Ninjago, Cyrus Borg is missing, and our team is down one master and one ninja."
"We've got to get Zane back online. He was the last one to see Cyrus Borg." Lloyd said, looking to the shut down Nindroid resting in a chair.
"Yeah, except Cyrus Borg is the only one who has the equipment to get him back online." Cole said.
"I might be able to reboot Zane with the computer in the Samurai X Cave. Although I could use some help." Nya suggested.
"Well, I'm in." Cole raised his hand.
"You know I am." Jay agreed.
"I'll stay. One of us should keep an eye on Master Wu." Lloyd said.
"Then I'll be with you. He's my father." Morro decided.
"I'll go to the museum and talk to Dr. Saunders. He's an expert on all things Ninjago. Maybe he knows what Master Wu is too weak to tell us." Kai raised up the helmet.
"Good thinking. Go and see what you can see." Lloyd said.
"See what you can see?" Morro repeated Lloyd.
"I don't have a person planning out every sentence I say." Lloyd retorted. Morro shrugged.
. . .
Cyrus Borg was tied up and placed in the golden sarcophagus in the museum by the snake samurai thingy.
"The Vermillion warriors have done well, brother. Borg is captured and the first step of our plan is complete. It's time to begin phase two." Krux said, entering the secret room.
"How? Phase two requires many more Vermillion than we have." Acronix asked.

"We'll have them shortly. With even more growing in the swamp. Soon, there will be a force of thousands." Krux placed his hand in the table.
"Okay, but how do the two of us control a force of thousands?" Acronix inquired.
"I've had years to develop this plan, brother. Do you not think I took that into account?" Krux asked.
"May I introduce... Commander Raggmunk, Commander Blunck, and Commander Machia. Hand selected from the most genetically superior Serpentine. Their superior intellect allows them to communicate telepathically with the Vermillion warriors and control them to the hive mind." Krux said. Three figures stepped out of the shadows. Two orange and one red.
"You've thought of everything." Acronix said, amazed.
"Indeed. I bred them to be strategic thinkers. In fact, they've been working out the details for phase two." Krux said.
"With your permission, sir, I've outlined an attack so we can--" Blunck started.
"We've outlined." Raggmunk intercepted. The two started to hiss at each other.
"Hand selected?" Acronix crossed his arms.
"They're fighters. One must expect a certain amount of...aggression." Krux sighed.
"The plan!" Acronix slammed his hand on the table.
"Of course. I will explain." Blunck said.
"We will." Raggmunk said. They got at it again.
"Enough! You will tell them the plan or I will eat the two of you for breakfast, bones and all!" Machia shouted.
"Hm. Aggression." Krux leaned over to his brother.
. . .
"Okay, he's hooked up to the main computer. Keep your fingers crossed." Nya placed Zane down on a table as she connected wires to his head.
"Come on, Zane..." Jay waved his fists up and down. Some sparking
"Nope. Still out."
"Hang on. There's something on the video feed." Cole pointed to the screen that kept flickering.
"Well, this is a surprise. I didn't expect to see you."
"Who did you--" video end.
"Um, did I miss something? One second Zane is talking, then nothing." Jay said.
"Okay, let's try again, only slower." Nya went to the controls and pulled a lever. The video was slow, but still staticky.
"Oh, there you go. Zane was nailed by, uh, some mysterious blurry thing. Hehe." Cole pointes at the frozen frame.
"Oh, so all we need to do is round up all the blurs in Ninjago. This tells us nothing!" Jay shouted.
"Maybe I can slow it down more." Nya tried, but the video was completly cut out.
"We lost the connection." Nya sighed.
"Aw, and Zane." Jay said. Their nindroid friend was down.
. . .
Misako handed Wu another cup of tea.
"Thank you, Misako. Focus Tea might help to clear my head." Wu said. Lloyd sighed as he paced around the room.
"Maybe you should have some as well." Wu said.
"Uh, what?" Lloyd asked.
"You seem...distant." Wu said.
"Yeah. It's just that, as a master-in-training, it feels like I should be doing something. But what?" Lloyd said.

"A true Master must always..." Wu started.
"Yes, Master? Must always what?" Lloyd asked.
Wu fell alseep. Then woke up.
"...and only then will he be a true Master."
"Sorry, I-I-I didn't quite get that." Lloyd said.
"I said a true Master must..." Wu fell asleep again.
"AAAW!!" Lloyd silently exclaimed. Morro, who was awkwardly been sitting beside Lloyd, tilted his head at his father. Lloyd zipped around.
"You know something." Lloyd said.
'I do know something.' Morro crossed his arms.
"TELL ME." Lloyd shook his brother.
"One, calm down. Two, you don't know what you're doing." Morro stood up.
"Three, neither does he." Morro tilted his head towards Wu. Lloyd stopped.
"Huh?"
. . .
Kai arrived at the museum.
"Hello? Dr. Saunders? He's gotta be here somewhere. He's always here. The guy is practically an exhibit himself." Kai walked around.
"If anyone can shed light on the origin of this helmet, it'll be him." Kai spotted the portrait of his parents.
"Mom. Dad. I wish I could ask you what this is. Actually, I wish I could ask you anything. It's been so long." Kai sighed. He remembered meeting Nya for the first time. Shortly after that, was the last memory of his parents.
"Your kids miss you, you know." Kai sighed.
In the secret room, the generals finished the explimation of their plan.
"Excellent. You may strike when ready." Krux said.
"My sentries say we have a visitor." Blunkc informed.
"It's a museum. We have lots of visitors." Krux said.
"This one's a ninja." Raggmunk said.
"A ninja? We need to see what he's up to." Acronix said.
"Oh, wait, I bet you never set up a security camera, Mr. I-Hate-All-Technology-Even-Though-It's-Cool!" Acronix waved his hands at his twin.
"I have something better." Crux held up a spy scope. The scope poked out.
"The Fire Ninja! He must be onto us! Perhaps he's more dangerous than I first thought. I'll neutralize him before he uncovers our plans." Acronix stepped away from the scope to exit the room.
"No. That will draw too much attention to everything. I will take care of this. This changes nothing. Commence phase two." Krux said.
. . .
Nya inserted a device into the computer.
"Upgrade complete. Say hello to Super Slow Motion." Shw paused the video to see a man with gray hair and green and red face paint.
"Acronix? I though he got, you know, finished off at the monastery." Cole said.
"He did!" Jay exclaimed.
"Apparently not. And look, he's still got the Time Blade!" Cole said. The video continued to see Acronix taking Borg.
"That's why Zane never saw him coming. Acronix fast forwarded into a blur!" Jay exclaimed.
"But wait. Cyrus Borg said he saw someone approaching before that. But who?" Nya asked. She rewinded the video. They paused it.
"That's...Dr. Saunders." Jay said.
"Hold on. That means he and Acronix..." Cole started.
"Are working together!?" Cole and Jay shouted.
"And he's hooked up with those slithering Samurais too." Jay scowled.
"Oh, I always knew there was something snakey about that guy!" Jay pointed agressivly towards the screen.
"No, there wasn't. Dr. Saunders is such a kind old man. Remember all the school field trips to the museum?" Nya turned to the boys.
"Exactly! And how boring were those?" Jay said.
"I kinda liked them." Cole said.
"The point is, he's definitely gone full snake now." Jay pushed Cole aside. Nya gasped.
"And Kai is headed right into that snake's nest!" She exclaimed.
. . .
"Aah! Dr. Saunders!" Kai explained as the old man walked forwards.
"In the very flesh-flesh. You were expecting different doctor?" Dr. Saunders asked.
"No, you just startled me. But actually, I was looking for you." Kai said.
"Were you now?" Saunder's voice slipped.
"Do you recognize this?" Kai held up the helmet.
"Hm. It slightly resembles a post-Serpentine War Samurai battle helmet, but is probably just a knock-off. Cheapy-cheap-cheap." Saunders deduced.
"Perhaps costume from Ninjago Con?"
"Uh, I don't think so. We got it off a snakey Samurai Warrior we defeated." Kai said.
"Snake Warrior?"
"Actually, a bunch of snakes, all, like, twisted into one, attacked the Borg Store. It was on the news. Don't you watch TV?" Kai asked.
"I despise TV." Saunder's voice slipped again.
"A vile, bilious contraption."
Kai tilted his head.
"I-I-I mean, interesting. Heh! If you leave it with me, perhaps I can look into its origin. Heh! Goodbye." Saunders took the helmet and walked away.
"Master Wu always says never put off until tomorrow what can be done today. So I would like to look around now. Maybe I'll stumble on something useful. Is that okay?" Kai asked.
"Of course. We are open to the public for seven days of the week. Late on Thursdays." Saunders walked off further.
. . .
Nya, Jay and Cole ran out of the cave.
"Hurry! We've got to get to Kai before that double-crossing Dr. Saunders." Nya shouted.
"What about Zane?" Cole asked.
"He'll be fine. I've got him on a restore and reboot protocol." Nya said. The three jumpes into their vehicles.
"I'm calling the temple!" Jay exclaimed.
"Zane. Zane. Wake up. Wake up!" Pixal said on the computer.
"Come on, snap out of it. He needs us! Ugh!"
. . .
"Fresh off the rack! Arise, my army!" Comander Raggmunk shouted in the city from a roof top.
"Our army!" Blunk said.
"Let's hope for your sake phase two is a success. Or they will become my army!" Machia shouted.
"No, they'd still be our--" Blunk startes. The Vermillion raged upon the street.
"Yes! Grab the best...the most skilled...and the finest craftspeople!!" Blunk commanded.

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
