"Well I'm glad you're sure." Kai said. A blue wave of energy flew over the terrain, slowing everyone down for a short while.
"What the heck wa--"
"AAAAAH!!" Morro shouted.
"?!" Everyone faced him.
"Oh, I hate that, I hate that, I hate that." Morro said.
"I never wanted to feel thst again." Morro's grip tighened.
"Okay then...." Cole looked to Lloyd. He was having a strange reaction as well.
"Look!" Zane pointed. The Vermillion started to leave the park.
"Huh." Kai said.
"Wait! Get back here!! Who stole my Samurai X gear?!" Nya shouted after them.
"Another Time Blade must have arrived. And somehow the snakes knew it." Lloyd said, tapping his face a bit.
"Thirty four, twenty eight." Zane said.
"Uh, oh. I think Zane got knocked offline again. He's babbling numbers." Cole crossed his arms.
"No, that's latitude and longitude." Nya said.
"Nya, upgrading my temporal scanner during my reboot was a good idea." Zane said.
"Well, I saw the new BorgWatch had one." Nya shrugged.
"Wh- why?" Morro whispered.
"The Time Blade is in the Eastern Sea of Sand." Zane calculated.
"Does every device have a temporal scanner incase fifty more Time Blades appear out of nowhere?" Morro asked.
"We can't let them get the Blade first. Come on!" Lloyd instructed.
. . .
"Oh, I just promised nothing was gonna hurt you guys! And now they've taken Mom!" Jay shouted.
"It's going to be fine. I'm sure you'll come up with a way to save the day." Ed reassured him.
"Yeah? How can you be sure?" Jay asked.
"Well, because you have every other time the forces of evil have descended on this place." Ed said. Jay sighed. He hasn't dine a very good job.
"Just remember what we say in the scrap metal business." Ed said.
"Keep your emotions under control and focus on the problem at hand."
"Do you actually say that?" Jay asked.
"Ah, it's a surprisingly harsh business, son. The important thing is, we raised you to never give up." Ed smiles. Jay sighed.
"You're right. I'm going after Mom."
"That's the spirit, son!"
Jay remembered is bikr was destroyed.
"Where's the nearest bus stop?" Jay asked.
"Ahem. Hold on. I have something here that might be useful." Ed walked over to a sheet. "Something that doesn't require a bus pass. Now, normally, I don't believe in giving birthday gifts early, but your mother is in danger, so I'm gonna make an exception." Ed lifted ofd the sheet, revealing a motor bike.

"Like it? I built it myself."
Um..." Jay tried to mount it and it fell apart.
"I've got some ideas for a few modifications. If that's okay." He said.
"Only if you let me help."
. . .
With a truck of some wort and a somehow moving train of roller coaster carts, the Vermillion made their way in the wasteland.
"Lovely morning for a ride in the desert." Blunk said.
"It's too blasted hot!" Raggmunk shouted.
"Yes, but it's a dry heat." Blunk said.
"You see, this is why I wanted my purse. I keep a bottle of water in it. Hydration is important!" Edna shouted from her claw cage.
"I don't see the Time Blade, but--" Cole looked around.
"They have Jay's mom!" He shouted.
"That must be why Jay left so suddenly. But, where is he?" Nya looked around.
"Forget that! If we have that Time Blade, we're at an advantage." Morro shouted.
"Then, let's get it first! Split up!" Lloyd said.
"We're approaching the Time Blade!" Zane pointed. A few seperate snakes flew into the Ninja's vehicles and wrecked their circuitry.
"Oh no." Lloyd opened his hatch. Morro pulled him out and summonded his dragon, flying above the crash.
"Why don't we do this all the time?" Lloyd asked.
"Vehicles are better than wasting energy." Morro said.
"You're right." Lloyd said.
"No, I'm left handed." Morro replied. Lloyd rolled his eyes.
"Incoming!" Nya shouted as she lost control.
"The Time Blade, yes! Come to Raggmunk." The general held his arms out. The Ninja fell behind as the Snakes kept om moving forwards.
"Hey! Why should you get the credit? Mine!" Blunk pouted.
"The Time Blade! No!" Lloyd yelled.
"Yes! I got it! Oh, it feels better than I could ever have imagined." Raggmunk held the blade in the air.
"Oh, can I hold it? Let me hold it!" Blunk exclaimed. Raggmunk kept the Blade away from him.
"What's the rush, little fools?" Raggmunk shot the Time blade at Morro in the sky. He esily dodged it. I mean. It was a straight forward beam.
"Nice shot." Blunk said.
"It's my first time!" Raggmunk shouted.
"yes! We still have a chance! Move, move, move!" Lloyd shouted to his team. The Green Ninja jumped off and forwards towards the snakes in the sand. Morro dispelled his dragon and threw his staff at the Time Blade, knocking it out of Raggmunk's hands.

"K-YEAH!"
Further down the sand, Jay sped off into the open land.
"Now, Jay, there's a speed limit." Ed said, on the back of their newly made bike.
"Mom is in trouble!" Jay exclaimed.
"And there are times it's okay to ignore it. Hit it, son!" Ed threw his hand forwards.
"Huh?" Blunk saw Jay coming.
"I hope you brought water!" Edna shouted.
"Water won't help him." Blunk said.
The Ninja reached where all the snakes had been. Cole ran in and punched that dumb commander in the face, knocking his back. But, it also got him closer to where Morro pinned down the blade.
"What are you doing? You're also gonna slow all of us!" Raggmunk shouted. Morro slid on the ground to grab the blade but the Snakes grabbed it instead.
"Exactly." Blunk said. A blue orb surrounded everyone on the field.
"What is that?" Jay turned last second as he entered the slowed field.
"Jay!" Cole yelled in slow-mo.
"Son!" Edna yelled with the same effect.
Jay drove out of the dome and back into normal speed.
"Stay here, Dad." He said as he came to a stop.
"W-What are you gonna do?" Ed asked.
"It's like you said: never give up." Jay nodded.
"Well, son, that's before I saw everyone slow to a snail's pace." Ed pointed.
"Which is why we modified the bike." Jay winked
"Ohhhhhh..." Ed said as Jay drove off.
"Lightning speed!" Jay surrounding his bike with his power, making him zoom all the way into the dome. He got in, hit the snakes away, threw the blade up, grabbed his mom and the slowness was gone!!
"Way to go, Jay!" Cole shouted.
"Talk about making a comeback!" Kai exclaimed.
"SORRY, I LEFT YOU BEFORE, CAN'T STOP! PLEASE HELP MY DAD AND GET THE BLADE! SEE YOU BACK AT THE TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!"
Jay left in a flash.
"Looking for this?" Kai asked, holding ghe blade. Morro hrabbed his staff and ran up to about infront of all the smakes and jumped up, spinning back to forced the opposing side back with a strong blast of wind.
"We got the Blade! Let's get out of here!" Lloyd exclaimed. Kai sighed. He wanted to mess around with it.
"Remember how I said I like the way Lloyd is taking charge?" Kai asked.
"Yeah." Nya said.
"I take it back." Kai said.
"No time, let's go!" Morro pushed the siblings forwards.
"After them! Go, go, go! Get the Time Blade!" Raggmunk shouted.
Kai stumbled on another helmet.
"There's that symbol again!" He grabbed it and ran.
"Go, go, go, go, go, go, go! We're not gonna make it! We don't have enough time!" Nya yelled.
"Yes we do. Everyone, behind me! We have all the time we need!" Lloyd shouted. The pointed the Time Blade at the Vermillion. And... Fire!! They all slowed down!
"Come on, Mr. Walker. That time bubble won't last long!" Lloyd held up Jay's dad. Everyone is thinking when he's gonna appologize for what happened when he was a kid, but oh well.
"Will it last long enough for us to get these heaps in the shop for repairs?" Ed asked.
"Probably not." Cole said.
"May I remind everyone, we have dragons...?" Morro said.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
"Ohhhhhhhhh...." Everyone said.
"The only damage to the jet is the port wing, which I can stabilize." Zane said.
"I will take the Jet back to make repairs."
"... Sure." Morro said. The rest of the Ninja generrated their dragons and flew out of there victorious!!
Oh yeah, and the Vermillion aren't slowed.
"Ah! What are we going to tell the Hands of Time?" Raggmunk asked.
"The moon was in our eyes?" Blunk suggested.
"That's...not bad. Actually, yeah, let's go with that." Raggmunk nodded.
"We did it! We got the Time Blade! We finally caught a break!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"Nice work, Masters!" Cole said.
"Did you guys see Jay take off on that bike? He was like greased lightning." Nya said. She got stares.
"What? He had grease on his face. And he's the Lightning Ninja. Aw, come on! You would have laughed if Jay said it." Nya sighed.
"No, no, we wouldn't." Kai said.
"I, uh, I thought it was funny, Nya." Ed said.
"Thank you, Mr. Walker." Nya said.
. . .
"Mm-hm, I see. Moon in your eyes, makes sense. Yes, I'll tell them. Goodbye." Machia nodded.
"They failed. As I suspected they would."
"What? We didn't get the Time Blade!?" Krux shouted.
"Not yet." Machia laughed.

Mycology
Declan was but a teenager when he was invited to Gaia. It wasn't some popular VRMMO like the ones his friend keeps recommending, nor was it a 'game' in the traditional sense. Gaia was the stopgap to Indiri, a living breathing world, the final creation of a dead genius. Invited to this world by Eve, the overseer and an AI light-years greater than any that came before her, Declan was given a choice. To join or not to join? Well, why the hell not? Hello, this is a pretty basic VR story which I started writing out of boredom, don't expect anything too great here, it's a somewhat unique setting but with mostly slice of life comedy shenanigans with no real 'plot' since I can't reliably include stakes in a world where respawning is a thing. I'll try to upload at least once every other week but real life stuff may get in the way occasionally. **WARNING** Protagonist comes with an inbuilt wizard hat. Also, any mentions of chapter titles shall be met with falling rocks TPK. **ACTUAL WARNING** Story may or may not read like the fever dream of an eclectic sasquatch with internet connection. Do be warned, that this story has extremely slow pacing by design. Join the Discord!! https://discord.gg/p2gxqs4 Laugh at my empty Patreon!!

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
