《Brother of Wind {Book 8: the Sons of Garmadon}》chapter 3

The brothers slowly entered the room. It was a mess and the window was wide open. They ran to the balcony. A hooded figure carried a large bag.
"He's got the Princess!" Lloyd pointed.
"You go, I'll tell the others." Morro said. Lloyd jumped out of the window and into a chase. He flipped on his hood.
He slid across the rooftops, following this hooded figure. Just as they looked back, Lloyd hid to not be spotted. Lloyd looked around. The figure jumped buildings. Llpyd quickly ran to catch up. He reached another jump.
"Ahh!" He stopped at the edge. It was a big jump.
"You gotta be kidding me." Lloyd saw multiple lantern and clothes lines hanging across the buildings. He used them as aids to get across. But as he reached the other end, all that Lloyd could grab was a ladder. And it was on the verge of breaking.
Lloyd almost fell towards the ground when the one he was chasing grabbed his hand.
"Who are you?" Lloyd raised his stance to the figure. They took off the hood, revealing the platnum white hair of Harumi.
"Oh. Princess? I thought you were kidnapped. I was trying to save you." Lloyd said, taking off his hood.
'False alarm. Don't tell anyone!'
Lloyd played with his hands.
'False alarm? Just what exactly are you doing?'
Morro's voice rung in Lloyd's head.
"Was that what that was? From my vantage, it looked like I was the one saving you." Harumi leaned forwards. Lloyd snapoed back to reality.
"Then who's in the bag?" Lloyd asked.
"You mean what's in the bag. Food. For the less fortunate." Harumi openes the large bag.
"Even though I'm confined to the palace, I still try to give what I can."
"But your bedroom. It was ransacked." Lloyd pointed out.
"Yes, I can be quite a slob. Thank you for noticing." Harumi said.
"I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean—" Lloyd stammered.
"The Princess is gone! Find her!" The yell of Hutchins made it all the way to where Lloyd and Harumi stood.
"Ha. Excuse me." Lloyd said.
He whipped around and tensed up.
'I SAID FALSE ALARM.'
Lloyd frowned.
'Your chase took one minute. You know I'm fast. But at least I didn't say she was kidnapped. Just gone.'
Morro felt off about it.
Lloyd sighed.
"They can't know I left the palace." Harumi said. She threw a jacket to Lloyd.
"You have to disguise yourself. Hurry!" The two jumped down into the dim lit canals of the less fortunate.
Harumi went around, passing out the food she took from the palace. Lloyd watched from a few steps behind.
"Some things are easier to do when you're not a princess. If I asked my parents, they would never allow it. But these people are hungry. And we have so much food in the palace." Harumi said as she continued. She handed some to Lloyd. Seemed like all the kids came to surround them.

"Patience, little ones. There's enough for each of you." Harumi said. Soon enough, the whole bag was gone.
"Can I ask you a question?" Lloyd asked.
"Do you enjoy being a princess?"
"Everyone thinks being a princess is supposed to be easy, and wonderful, and I
guess it's okay, but a lot of the time it's really hard." Harumi said, ducking under the wooden supports of the buildings.
"Huh. Tell me about it. Not being a princess, I mean being the Green Ninja." Lloyd said. They reached a small brige riding over the small stream.
"We have to live up to a role that was bestowed upon us. We never chose these mantles we hold." Harumi said.
"I know. It's hard to live a normal life." Lloyd leaned on the bridge.
"Nothing about me or my family is normal." He laughed.
"Such as you and your brother's vastly different hair colours?" Harumi asked.
"Ah! Uh, we're not actually-- uh I don't want to explain it right now haha..." Lloyd trailed off.
"But a normal... Is something I probably wont get. At least I get to wear a mask, but you--"
"I wear my own masks." Harumi interjected. "Sometimes painted, sometimes a kidnapper of princesses!" She put the hood back on and faced Lloyd.
"Muahaha!" She played off the laugh.
"In my defense, it was my first day." Lloyd blushed. He got a few flash backs from that.
The quiet group of houses was interrupted by a dark road of the larger Ninjago city. Biker gang members seemed to harass some kids just trying to keep a fire awake.
"We must leave." Harumi told Lloyd.
"These people have enough to worry about; they shouldn't have to be bullied by low level street thugs." Lloyd stepped forwards.
"Don't. If you try to stop them, you'll reveal us." Harumi pulled him back.
Lloyd looked back to the gang members. He gasped at the logo on their clothes.
"What's wrong?" Harumi asked.
"That's the same symbol I saw before. The Sons of Garmadon. He was my father." Lloyd said. He looked back. He was about to start throwing some hands.
"No! You said it yourself. They are only low level thugs." Harumi pulled Lloyd back again. "They don't know anything. They only take orders. It's the person who gives them that scares me." Harumi pointed.
"I have to do something." Lloyd said. Just then, the riff of a car rode up. A blue car.
Oh yeah, by the way, someone took Nya's Samurai stuff to use it for themself, uh. Yeah, you watched the show the same thing happened here. It just seemed like fate didn't feel like retelling an unchangeable fact.
"Or you could let Samurai X take care of it." Harumi said. Samurai X jumped out and unsheathed their sword.
"Step away from the pedestrians." Their voice spoke.

"Samurai X? Let's split!" One of the gang members exclaimed. The children cheered.
"It's good to know the ninja aren't the only ones protecting Ninjago." Lloyd sighed.
"Remember, kids, look out for one another. And stay safe." Samurai X drove away.
"Who is Samurai X?" Harumi asked.
"I wish I knew." Lloyd turned to her.
"Princess--"
"Please, call me Rumi."
"Rumi, I..."
'You should stop attempting to flirt and get back to the palace before someone burns the place down.'
Lloyd stopped. He lost track of time. Thank you brother.
"...Should get you home!" Lloyd exclaimed
"Yes. You should be home, your Highness."
The two turned around.
"Hutchins!" Harumi gasped.
"May I ask what you are doing outside the palace?" Hutchins approached.
"Rumi and I were just going for a walk." Lloyd said.
"Rumi? A walk?" Hutchins asked, perplexed.
"It was my idea. Please don't be angry with Lloyd." Harumi said.
"It's troubling to see you two are on a first name basis." Hutchins said in response.
"The streets are not safe at night, your Highness. I must insist you return with me, at once." Hutchins took hold of Harumi's hand. They walked off. Hutchins passed a look.
Lloyd narrowed his gaze.
. . .
"Moonlit walks on the canal, sharing food?" Cole swung his hammer.
"Ah! Sounds a lot like a date. Ah!" He aimed low.
"It was not a date." Lloyd said as he jumped over it.
"A date: a social or romantic engagement. Often involving a meal or an intimate setting." Zane said, doging a dual wielded attack from Kai.
"Haha! You can't argue with a Nindroid." Jay laughed.
"Look, if you like this girl, you're gonna have to step up your game." Kai said, jumping into his Spinjitzu tornado to attack.
"What do you mean 'game?'" Lloyd asked.
"It means one's ability to charm. You need to convince her why you are the most logical mate." Zane drew back an arrow and deflected Kai's swords.
"If you want to impress her, you gotta act tough. Like, flex your muscles and stuff. Break things." Cole clapped his fist. His earth punch activated as the scar on his face reappeared. The groubd rumbled as he spun into Spinjitzu. Morro stepped aside, pulling his staff out and aiming low. He tripped Cole and jumped over him, pulling Cole upwards. Cole just landed on his feet.
"Sure. That deffinetly works. Especially with every girl Kai meets." Morro said.
"Hey!" Kai yelled.
"You gotta make her laugh." Jay said spinning his nunchucks.
"Just ask Nya. She couldn't resist my sense of humor." He jumped over her spear. Nya flipped him ovee.
"It's an acquired taste." Nya said.
"Don't listen to them. You gotta act cool. Like you don't even care." Kai said.
"But I do." Lloyd said.
"A-ha! So you admit it." Jay pointed.
"Okay, stop. All of you are really not helping him. Look, just be yourself. It's so much easier than trying to be someone you're not." Nya said.
"And don't listen to Kai." Morro said.
"Alright, then what's your advice?" Kai asked. "You're asking me on how to ask someone out?" The Wind Ninja jumped back. Morro stopped to think. Everyone patiently awaited his answer.
"Uh...."
'Take her hand and guide with a smile.'
Morro tilted his head.
"Huh??? I may be a Ninja but I don't think I'm skilled enough to do that!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"What? What'd he said?" Kai stpped forwards. They lookes to Morro. He shrugged and turned away.
. . .
Lloyd rotated his arm, stretching as he walkes through the halls.
"What were you thinking, Harumi?" The Emperor's call echoed.
"You are a member of the Royal Family of Ninjago." The Empress exclaimes.
"You can't just go gallivanting off with a ninja whenever you want. It's undignified."
"Not to mention dangerous."
"But he's not just a ninja--" Harumi was cut off.
"You are royalty. He is not." Her father said.
"I'm sorry. I have dishonored our name and our house." Harumi sighed.
"No, Harumi. We're sorry. We all have a role to play. And yours is in this palace. Your heart mustn't interfere." The Emperor said. Harumi sighed and rushed off. She ran into Lloyd outside the door.
"Rumi…" Lloyd said.
"If you know what's good for you, stay away from her." Hutchins replies.
"What happened?" Nya asked, walking up to Lloyd as Harumi rushed away.
"I can be myself, but not everyone can be so lucky." Lloyd said.
(I'm cutting out the UV recruitment because I like... Don't wanna write it. Because it's not too impactful. So.)
Kai walkes along the Palace roof.
"Hey! Stop right there!" The guards called. Kai looked down.
"Hey, hey. I'm just trying to deliver mail." The postman raised his hands.
"It's okay, guys. I know him." Kai called to the guards. They lowered their weapons.
"Sorry, nobody goes into the palace. I can deliver it to them." Kai said.
"Uh, thanks." The postman handed the mail to the guard.
"Chapter?" Kai asked himself.
"I thought we were in seasons." He pondered. Kai pulled off his hood as he jumped down to collect the mail. He picked up the letters. Kai gazed upwards at the tallest peak of the palace. He sighed. Of course those two. The one known for the sky, and the earth and spiked upwards to pierce it.

Reborn as a DRAGON
My name is Tim, or it was until I died. There was no light at the end of the tunnel, no white room to choose any cheats from, nor was there any meeting with God. I didn’t die heroically while saving someone, and I certainly didn’t get hit by a truck. My death was rather stupid and anticlimactic, I had apparently bumped my head while sleeping and passed away... That should have been the end of the road for me, but like many self-proclaimed main characters, I joined the army of multi-dimensional travelers and was reincarnated. Being an avid light novel and manga reader, I would have been excited about the opportunity, if not for my new siblings, who tried to kill me as soon as I was born, or for my mother, who seemed to have a thing for throwing me off cliffs. And let’s not forget my murderous father, who forced me to flatten a small country as my Rite of passage. Oh, did I mention I was reborn as a Dragon?
